  1. What category of visa are you in? You should not need to upload anything. This is most probably referring to the NVC package for those who uploaded documents. Just print all docs and bring to the interview session. What category of visa are you in? You should not need to upload anything. 2. Unfortunately I'm not sure. Everything depends on the officer on the day of. For some people, who had done the medicals, their results weren't sent by the doctor before the interview date, so the officer had told them we would need to wait for the medicals before we can issue a visa. It's just messy and not worth the risk in my opinion.
  3. I believe you won't be able to attend the interview without the medical results. You will be turned away.
  4. Good point. The point is some folks will get AP'd almost for sure. How long it takes is a matter of wait and see. I just wanted the original poster to know that they will most probably have to consider few more months of wait... hopefully short...
  5. I think so too. That is probably just before it changes to "issued". I believe it means someone is actively working on it.
  6. Quick piece of information: for those with Iran as country of eligibility, you would most probably be put in Administrative Processing (additional background checks), which may take between 3 to 18 months. Just a heads-up to consider this in your plans.
  7. That's brutal! You never know what's going on...
  8. 1- I wish I had more accurate information, but all I can say is your timeline is a bit tight. You may have your passport back, but who knows how long they may take. 2- I don't see why not. 3- I also want to know the answer to this!
  9. Yes, I submitted it but only for myself, and not for my spouse. I'm gonna let them ask for it during the interview if they want to
  10. I would take with me anything I possibly can (and of course organized). You never know what the officer may ask for.
  11. I have not, yet. Will look at it over the weekend.
  12. Yeah, I would not ask for it. This seems to me clearly to be DS-5535 since it is mentioned at the bottom of the form. It might have to do with my country of chargeability ...
  13. Update: I emailed them about the date confusion and within 15 minutes, they sent me the exact same email I got in the morning, but now with the correct date (Jan 10, 2025). The link to the DS-5535 form is still in there, so I guess I will go ahead and fill it out.
  14. OK, thank you. I hope doing it now will avoid delays after the interview...
  15. Would you happen to have an email address that was used to communicate with MTL successfully?
  16. Hi all, This morning I received an email from "MontrealVisaDoNotReply@state.gov" which with title "PREPARING FOR YOUR IMMIGRANT VISA INTERVIEW". Has anyone received such email? I am waiting for my interview on Jan 10th. The email provides some generic steps such as asking for documents to bring like passport, interview letter, photos, etc. Few confusing things in this email - can anyone share ideas? 1- The date of my interview is January 10, 2025 but in this recent email they indicated October 01, 2025. It looks like whoever was sending the email is reading the date wrong by switching the month and day (10-01-2025 vs 01-10-2025). 2- The instructions also point to an online form which seems to be the notorious DS-5535 form (Administrative Processing). Is this normal? Should I start filling it out? Has anyone ever received a link to DS-5535 before they go for the interview? Should I just ignore that link? Thoughts?
  17. It is at the very end of the email I received this morning. In addition to what you have received, I have one extra line: - Submit the following supplemental questionnaire online The link then takes me to a Microsoft Office Form. The beginning of the form looks like this:
  18. Yeah, thanks. I could probably look at the glass half full...
  19. So you have received the same email too? Does your email also have the link to the "online" form (which is essentially DS-5535) at the end too? - Submit the following supplemental questionnaire "online" Regarding the date, yours will be easier to not mess up since it is on the 17th, and there is no 17th month, so they cannot make the same mistake...
  20. This is the snippet from Interview Letter (PDF) - BTW, I have already registered and received confirmation of my registration for Jan 10, 2025. And this is from the email this morning: It just looks like someone has read the date 01-10-2025 wrongly (mm-dd-yyyy vs dd-mm-yyyy). That is not so much of a concern, but the DS-5535 is!

  22. I have not completed my interview yet, but I have registered and that is exactly how I have done it too.
  23. Congrats and thanks for sharing your experience!
  24. Don't wait to see anything in the IL. Here is the link: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-10-prepare-for-the-interview.html
