Thank you! I have all of that. My confusion is about: 1- I have a very old police certificate from my home country, which I have not visited since I left (around 20 years ago) - so would I need a renewed one? I thiink they mention if you have not visited, no need for a new one. But I dont want to get an AP because they ask for something that I dont bring there. 2- I have the RCMP one (which I submitted along with my I-140). Do we need new ones when the time comes for the interviews? I am asking this because @TheMaverick mentioned they had new and old certificates, and given the time that will pass before we get the IL, my RCMP ones may expire?

Wow, this is a lot of great details, thanks for sharing and glad it all went well for you! Question : can you please elaborate on the Police Certificates? Why did you have more than one (a new and old ones)? What about the one from your home country? Was that an old one? How long ago did you leave your home country? What I am trying to get at is how recent should your departure from your home country be for you to need a police certificate from the home country? What if it goes back to 20 years ago?

Great news! Congrats! Nice to see December DQ dates being invited, since their website still says July 2022. I don't think EB2-NIW is treated differently than EB2.
-
Maybe you are correct - but if it was an automatic update based on someone logging in, why does it show Feb 27th, all of a sudden on March 27th? To me it looks like they have not updated the dates, but just updated the date on top of the page, and didn't even do that properly
-
So, they have updated the website on March 27th 2024 and it shows that EB is still on July 2022. Well, they updated the page on March 27th and it says it was updated on February 27th! So much for accuracy! Anyway, no new movement in timelines.

I tend to say the latter. It is odd to imagine they have stopped all ILs for this category since May. I don't think everyone who applies needs to be necessarily a member of VJ. That being said, it is also strange that NO one on VJ has received ILs since May. Not even 1 applicant? Perhaps they didn't bother to update the sheet or this thread?

Please see this link: you need to pull monthly status and look at EB1 - it's there: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-statistics/immigrant-visa-statistics/monthly-immigrant-visa-issuances.html

Updated my historical analysis charts. A huge uptick in the rest of the world (Rio, Bogota and Seoul leading).
-
This is odd. The dates are back again to April 2022 (as of Nov 3rd 2023), but your DQ dates is June 2021 and you have not received the IL.

Can you please let me know what's the 60 day email? BTW, I just got DQ'd today...

Timeframes jumped from 1 week to 2 months today
AnnaSalu replied to mapi's topic in National Visa Center (Dept of State)
Processing time as in "hoe long it takes to DQ after receiving the documents"? -

Congratulations! My case is EB2, documents mailed on September 29th and haven't heard anything yet! -
I wish I had the option, like you did.

Thanks for the update

Ok, so I know I am at the end of this queue, since my case is not even DQ'd yet. But I am getting very confused and disappointed. The newest issue is the "case review" timelines by NVC (which I am monitoring to see when I will get DQ'd). Just yesterday, it said as of October 10, they were reviewing cases received on October 3rd (1 week behind). Today, it says as of October 16th, they are reviewing cases received on August 17th!! So they went back by 2 months??? This is the same as what they have done with the consular updates (back to Jan 2021 from April 2022).
-
Ah, frustrating. NVC seems to be just about copy paste template answers
-
Doesn't hurt. Let us know what you find, I will also look into this and share what I find.
-
Thanks for sharing this! A few things: 1- The inquiry you have sent (and the link you provided) is to NVC, which is part of the Department of State, not USCIS. 2- That being said, I still believe you have done the right inquiry, since this is a matter that the Department of State should address, not the USCIS which is under the DHS. 3- You mentioned economic-based visa, did you mean employment based visa? This topic is for EB2 interviews which is "Employment Based". Thanks again, I will also submit an inquiry.

It's just odd!

Yup, you need someone who can figure out the taxes properly. Also, beware of the Green Card requirements. There are two different but related requirements for physical presence and residency...
-
Not quite sure, but the biggest thing would be tax. Yes, you need to determine which country you are a resident of, from the Tax perspective. Will you need to commute? Where will you live while on the job hunt?
-
1- Please be respectful - telling others what to say and what not to say is "nonsense". 2- You can decide to not read what you don't like 3- The forum does not get "full". There is space for all respectful discussions 4- They are not doing "us" a "favor"! It is the LAW of the US, a country that is built based on lawful immigration! 5- No one was going to sue them. The previous comment mentioned others had previously done that, to no avail. We are trying to find ways to push them to provide additional resources to clear the backlog quicker. Do you have any problems with that? 6- I question your approach to fixing problems. Instead of finding solutions, you propose changing the entire issue? Instead of fixing a backlog, you suggest changing the Visa Category??? lol
-
I suggested a petition, but that seems to not have worked before! Not sure if contacting the Embassy in Ottawa, or Department of State would yield anything. They mention MTL is the only post with trained staff on IVs, I was hoping to push them to provide more resources even perhaps in other posts to reduce the backlog.

1- Where did you get these stats from? 2- Unrelated to this, did anyone figure out why the Consular Operations Updates went back to Jan 2021 instead of Apr 2022?
