You are fine with the divorce decree issued in the state of Georgia as you submitted in the I130 and she can take a copy of it to the interview.

    Good Luck!

The final decree of divorce from Georgia is sufficient. However, be sure that your partner brings the certified copy issued by the relevant county or court when they attend their interview. Basically, they need the piece of paper with the raised stamp and all the wording that declares the divorce to be final or absolute. Good luck!

Good to go.  Note that the birth certificate of the Petitioner is one possible evidence of US Citizenship, but only if born in the USA.  Birth Certificate of the foreign spouse is needed at the NVC stage.

I would add though, that if your proof of relationship is very long (mine was 20+ pages) I would add a contents just for ease for whoever reviews your case. I added a contents for mine, my logic was to make it as easy as possible for someone to approve my case! It's not a necessity though.

The real purpose of the cover letter is to provide a table of contents.  No need for explanations or other text except to name you both and list what's in the package.  That's for a mailed filing.  No need for an online filing.

thank you both so much. Do you know if we can combine our photos(5 of them) in 1 pdf? instead of uploading 100 photos, i can group them and upload 10 pdfs, is this okay?

Some photos over time, and boarding passes/passport stamps showing time spent together in the same country is plenty for Europe.  Would not be for Ghana or Nigeria.

USCIS understands that couples who live in seperate countries don’t have that type of evidence. We had the same thing, and we sent pictures of us together (and with family and friends), wedding pictures, some screenshots of social media posts, some text messages, boarding passes and pictures of the stamps in my passport when I visited. Any type of evidence of time we spent together. I am also from an EU country.

I already explained that if her A number is unknown to enter zeros.  Same is true if it is unknown WHETHER she has an A number.

1 is a present tense question. Use the married name.  She'll have plenty of time to get a new passport.
2  She has an A-number.  If known, enter it.  If not, enter all zeros
    3  Not applicable

Yes, you upload the I-130a.  If you are able to fully complete the I-130 without the glitches impacting you, then great.  They have to do with data entry issues.  I don't have to remember each one, to know they are there.

MariAndJoseph reacted to Sukie in avoiding RFE (split topic)
Sometimes it is a mistake on the part of the person submitting the form(s), and sometimes, it's NVC/USCIS that is just plain ignorant.  The best way to avoid an RFE is to double-check and triple-check ALL requirements for each form, double-check and triple-check EVERY BIT OF INFORMATION on the form, double-check and triple check how much money you have to send and both address the check and the envelope properly.

A submission that tells a complete story will rarely get an RFE.

    Best of luck!

This is IF you're doing concurrent filing, that is, I-130 which can be filed online or paper + all other forms that can only be filed on paper.

However, if it's just I-130 and going Consulate route, it's best to just file online as it's the only form needed.

Now, they're are some people who file AOS but decide to file I-130o line and then take that receipt and add it to their paper file for concurrent filing. I've never understood the logic readon behind this as it's pretty useless. I'd rather file all on paper and have all receipts together than be twitchy and get receipts at a time.

You should be using the official  I. 130 information pdf for the best information on filling out the form and ensuring you have all required and recommended documentation

    1. If that would be your evidence of a name change, yes.  Otherwise, just the divorce decree
    2. Yes, that's your A number.  It's on your Naturalization Certificate
    3. Of course not, but better to just skip any affidavits from friends anyway.
    4. No tax or financial information at this time
    5. Not at this time
    6. Not at this time
    7. No need for this when filing online

Don't confuse VJ guides with actual form instructions.
