Wow. Your guy "seems" to adore you.
That's reason enough to run off to a country in such turmoil people are like crabs in a bucket trying to get out.
The last time I flew out of Cairo, my driver, Ahmed, was complaining about how hard it is to get a visa to the U.S. He agreed with me, that if the U.S. didn't make it hard to get a visa, everyone (Egyptians) would leave - by walking and, adding that (then president) Morsi would be pointing his finger and yelling at the flies.
You don't know what you're getting into. If you did, you wouldn't be posting here because a visa is the least of your concerns.
Visit. Get to know him. Learn the culture - because, lady, you know nothing about Egyptian traditions. Then decide if you can live with what your life will look at in five, then ten, and, finally, 20 years.

He came on a spouse visa and he is quite capable of removing conditions on his own so waiting isn't necessary.
On a side note, I cannot understand why you are still allowed to post on this forum. The person who hopes to twist the word "residence" to mean "residency" and at best offers non-applicable advice, peppered with criticism, about how to obtain welfare benefits, should be banned.

    Stop.
Waited to remove conditions?? please... most people don't know the next steps in immigration. he waited until he got the the US. One year anniversary of being married... most of that time was spent apart waiting for the visa. He came and said/did this soon after entry.
This is a common scam: get GC, then file for new wife. It's like the number 1 scam in the books. That being said, if it weren't the truth, her testimony is not enough to kick him out. USCIS will do their own investigation.
Your attacking and blaming the victim and pop-psychologizing her is not needed. You side with the man because you only see yourself in this situation. Sad. Disgusting display.

I went through almost the exact same thing and my husband never laid a hand on me. He was a scammer from minute one and was an expert at hiding it. I believe he comes from a good family but the point remains, many of these men are EXPERTS at what they do and rarely do they operate alone. Typically they are being coached by family and/or friends who teach them how to get done what they want to get done. My husband got his citizenship April 24th, my daughter turned 18 on May 16th and he made a pass at her on May 30th. Needless to say, he was out the door that day. There were no "warning signs" with us. He came from an upper middle class family, was a teacher, never married before and no kids. He turned out to be the scammer supreme. Poll the women you meet on here and in 5 years 90% of the marriages will be non-existent. There's a reason the embassies look at these marriage closely, because most of them are fraudulent.

So are you considered a Medicaid disabled person? As I read it other than that you will have to wait five years to be eligible for benefits. Also this is a result of a class action lawsuit which will make good guidelines but what bearing does it have on your specific case?

American citizens who move to their spouse's country are not unusual.
What have you got to lose if you go? A family unfriendly job, which is obviously not a good fit for you because you have a family, in a run down town. Why stay and put your family through that?
Try it. You might like it.

The thing is, Blah Blah, reporting from Cairo about Cairo is not OMG OMG living in Mahalla, which officially separated from the government and declared itself a Muslim Brotherhood-Free Zone months ago.
I've been back in the US since April. My sinuses were horribly infected, yet I was repeatedly misdiagnosed - even by a for real "specialist." That, of course, and the lack of security and constant disruptions that rip away any hope for a shred of stability: no police protection, no police directing traffic, no police investigating crimes, no police other than administrative staff doing their job/s and that's it. So! President Morsi decides to give everybody the right to make a citizen's arrest, which is fine except for an environment where some dolt would throw you under a bus to make a good name for himself or receive some kind of gratuity or whatever their motivation might be, and turn you in as a spy - probably Israeli. Don't get me started about the electricity/water outages (which are at this very moment leaving large areas without for daaaaaaays) or being downwind in a taxi when they've let loose with tear gas.
Livvy, I told you before, next comes the Bloody Revolution and beards will be targets. I believe this is where we will see it; people are tired of listening to their mouths and they will be booted, just like the police.
One last thing, during the Revolution the going rate to get through the gates at Cairo International Airport was $2,000.00 (USD).

I'm not excusing your wife's behavior, nor am I condoning it, however I have to wonder if part of this is due to your wife's culture. You don't say where she's from (contaminated?), but it is not unusual nor is it unheard of - and in lots of place it's normal and expected - to raise and discipline child in a manner that we (meaning, Americans) would consider abusive.
    Just some food for thought.

Why do you continue to ask questions then argue that the reasonable solution is not going to happen?
The birth certificates prove the children are US citizens by birth.
The omission of you as a named father - twice - as well as your possibly ex-wife's asylum application in which she claimed she wasn't married would lead a reasonable person to question paternity of the children.
As you have already been told, legal custody and parentage are two entirely different things.
As you have already been told, it is up to you, and nobody else, to provide evidence to support your VAWA claim.
The simple - AND FREE - solution is to have DNA testing done and submit that as evidence. It's not like USCIS hasn't asked for DNA testing before; do a search in these forums and you will see it happens a lot.

AGAIN, where do you get this garbage?
YOU can't diagnose anyone. Nor can YOU determine or decide which benefits someone will or will not be eligible for.
The immigration related question was asked and answered. YOUR experience with this is irrelevant as YOU have never filed for or been subject to immigration.
Stop behaving like a benefit expert because YOU ARE NOT.

ONE person, the OP, is having trouble getting benefits. ONE person on an anonymous message board does not reflect the way the real world works. In the real world, people who work at human service agencies are not awarded or rewarded for failing to approve applicants.
Again, your assertion is a LIE.
Information about benefits in California is available on the internet, right here:
    http://www.cdss.ca.gov/cdssweb/pg54.htm#families
To say it's kept from the public like it's some big secret is another lie. Every single bit of policy about public money used for public benefits comes from federal and state legislation, all of which is freely available online.
I understand you've made a career out of manipulating the government to get benefits, thus your adversarial position, but the reality is most people don't do that.

Unless there isn't one and the villainous in this story, the one who has up and ran, changed her name and social security number, but calls once a year from a blocked number and threatens the super dad (who has had an open child protection case for more than ten years and who has such important matters to take care of by phone, he can't let a call go to voice mail) because he might disclose something that happened six years ago, well, unless she really didn't make a material misrepresentation at all and this couple was never married to begin with.
