bellicon reacted to arken in Tracking Green Card: IOE number on I-130 vs. IOE from Immigration Fee
No concern, totally different cases.
IOE number from immigrant fee payment is for the GC. Use this to track GC.
IOE number from original i130 is for the petition not for the GC. That number is long done once uscis sent the case to NVC.
Depending on who and how the immigrant fee was paid, you may or may not see it from myuscis accout.

bellicon reacted to jan22 in IR2 visa abandonement
Sorry -- tried to edit to add the following, but couldn't, for some reason.
The IR-2, if a minor, would still need the approval of the IR-1, in most cases. I have seen a fair number of cases where the IR-1 has some reason(s) to delay travel to the US -- usually work or family related -- for a few months and the IR-2 goes ahead for some reason (e.g., to start school on time).

I know of nothing in INA that says an IR-2 non petitioning parent must be an LPR or U.S. citizen. Or even alive
No, sorry. The U.S. citizen
step parent needs to adopt the step child. See

IR-1 has no derivatives. IR-2 has no derivatives. IR-5 has no derivatives.
Immediate family of U.S. citizens have no derivatives.
I agree.

You're right. Derivatives is not the correct term, but do you really think it is allowed for the IR2 step child of the petitioner to immigrate ahead of the IR1 spouse? Not applicable in this case, of course. The other IR2 situation where they become citizens upon arrival is a different matter.

No. They are all separate, independent cases. There are no derivatives.

I would encourage her to rethink. Come in US, trigger GC, file AP.

Anyone here can only speculate. My guess is yes.

Good questions.
Hopefully the stepchild realizes you are not his/her bio father? I very much doubt the CO will ask anything related to the bio father (name/DOB etc), since that info would be in the record, and that person has not been part of child's life.
My impression is that interviews for children are nothing like interviews for adults. The kid is only there due to the choices made by a parent. CO may want to know generally how things are between the child and you, and what he/she thinks about moving to the US.

Maybe a couple of general questions, are you looking forward to moving etc.
