  1. Hopefully it won't last that long, it's bound to be challenged in court. Your profile says EB-2 (which would be with a job offer). Is that right or are you actually EB-2 NIW? It would be really helpful if you filled your timeline in please.
  2. I was going to say maybe don't spend the money on the medical for now, as it'll only be valid for 6 months. Best of luck, I hope the ban is lifted at some point.
  3. Thank you. Just checking you aren't from a country on the visa ban list, or one with a different category on the VB. So you were definitely eligible under F2A then. Your category has been corrected to F2A and that's what you're being interviewed under. Even if the interviewing officer says you should be put in to F2B (highly unlikely), then you can easily show that your case is F2A. Shouldn't be an issue at all.
  4. How much time spent together in person? And how long have you been together for?
  5. It’s either the I-130 approval date or the date your PD became current on the VB, whichever is later. https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-processes-and-procedures/child-status-protection-act-cspa Which country are you a citizen of?
  6. Not sure who you're asking (if you type '@' followed by their name, or quote them, then it will tag them), but most people have their timelines filled in if you go to their profiles which should give you the info you need. If you could fill yours in too, that would be great.
  7. Are you a Nigerian citizen? If so, are you a dual with Canada as well?
  8. It's only updated once a month, so that makes sense. I don't think you can see interview slots if you've already got one booked, so you'd have to cancel first. But best not to do that unless you absolutely have to.
  9. They can, but only for 6 months - but hopefully the OP's father isn't staying outside for longer than that anyway as otherwise he'll be risking losing his GC.
  10. Your father should be able to access his social security from anywhere, it can be paid in to a bank account in another country. He doesn't need to be in the US for that. He can travel back to the US anytime too, he doesn't need to wait with you (and in fact is jeopardising his own status by doing so). It's not really clear what the situation is. Your father is a LPR, but in Mexico? How long has been outside the US? Does he have a re-entry permit? Your mother isn't a LPR? He's petitioned her for a visa but she needs a waiver (for what)? And what have you and your sibling applied for? You can only expedite if there is a visa available to you, so what kind of case and what is the Priority Date?
  11. It's for all immigrant visas. DQ means Documentary Qualified (basically when you've applied for the visa at NVC, ticked all their boxes, and are just waiting for an interview). The current wait for an interview at Lagos is 16 months ish (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/iv-wait-times.html), but it looks as though you haven't even applied for the I-130 yet? So a long way off a visa, the ban may be lifted by then, and the backlog is likely to be very different by then too. I'd just get the I-130 submitted asap to start the process. Good luck.
  12. Yep, I think it's usually pretty accurate. So she should get an interview scheduled fairly soon, it'll come via email. Good luck.
  13. Possibly, but if @mira205 was eligible for EB1A (for example), that could be obtained in a few months - and if her PD is March 2017, she could still be waiting another year or more for it to become current. So I'd say still worth exploring an EB application if it's possible and if it would be an EB1.
  14. I can't see any previous details of your case on VJ, did you maybe have another username?
  15. Exactly that, yes. And yes, I think that's the best thing to do, give the B visa a try first and then at least you know. Good luck.
  16. The first one, you haven't been instructed to schedule an interview, only to register it.
  17. Do you really need a lawyer for that? It's a very simple form. But I have no idea who in Fragomen would be good for that I'm afraid, as we didn't file one. Maybe just contact them and they'll direct you to the right people?
  18. Step by step guide is on the official website too, as well as the VJ guide given above - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-1-submit-a-petition.html That tells you everything you need to know including what docs will be required at each stage. Good luck.
  19. Ugh, these stupid memes. Can you not use words to put your point of view across instead? I left the last thread after ridiculous X posts were posted as if they were factual or accurate in any way at all. I have no idea about the first guy as I wasn't living in the US then so don't feel knowledgeable enough to comment on a case I heard very little about. But Alex Pretti wasn't 'starting a fight', he was filming, trying to help a woman that had been pushed over, and then put his hands up before being pepper sprayed. So the whole meme is laughable on that point alone.
  20. Depends, what do you need them for - looks like you're already LPR's?
  21. She’d be better off just visiting for a couple of weeks and keeping her job. She’s not likely to get a B visa anyway but saying she’ll stay for months and has no job to return to would make it even less likely. The I-130 is just a petition, the actual visa application comes after that. And it’s the visa she can’t get.
  22. Please fill in your timeline. Your profile says E-2, is that right?
  23. Shouldn't be too long - don't panic if one case is approved a few days (or even weeks) before the other though, sometimes people do if one parents case is approved and the other still waiting! Good luck.
