To OP and readers: please do not use cards for USCIS payments, declined charges are pretty frequent. To OP: unfortunately, you now have to pay increased fees as if you never filed.

@Zumbadaddy assuming your goal is to have your wife's I-751 and N-400 approved: All pages for all bank statements from joint account(s) since the time you got married until now. Unredacted / unaltered, showing all details. Again, shouldn't be just one statement. What name does her GC show? Maybe it should have matched that if the end goal for her to have married name. But I guess not much can be done now. If you want her to have hard time removing conditions / naturalizing you can just skip these. Good luck!

Many many people sent their applications before fees increase on April 1. Your packet is likely sitting in the storage facility waiting to be opened. Typically it takes 4-6 weeks after delivery to get extension letter. But with this influx of applications it can take longer.

You receive two notices typically after filing: 1) Acceptance notice / extension notice / I-797 2) Code for adding case to USCIS account Then biometrics notice (either reuse or appointment), then RFE (optional), notice of intent to deny (optional), interview (optional) and decision.

Next year, when you report taxes, you will have to list this account if it had over 10000 USD in it at any point since you became a LPR. It's going to be reportable if has 10K or more but not necessarily taxable.

If check was only cashed on April 12th, expect another 2-4 weeks for letter to show up.

SS card needs to be unrestricted for this to work. But yeah, this is the way to go. Showing GC for I-9 is not ideal.

Sometimes people don't get notice about combo but it's conducted on the day. You should prepare to do combo and bring the spouse regardless of whether interview letter mentions I-751 or not. On the day, tell security you're applying based on marriage and have ROC pending. You should upload I-797 for I-751, not for N-400. No it's not too late to request combo in additional evidence. These are meaningless estimates. You can roll a dice and have a better prediction. People worry about it all the time, but you won't find anybody saying that estimate was close to when they got decision. You may get naturalized and it will show 6 months to decision. Being employed is not a prerequisite or requirement for naturalization. If asked, tell the truth on the day of interview. This has 0 effect on your application.

I-485 cannot be filed overseas. I assume you filed I-130 and council processed? It's a different route to adjustment.

Foreign passport is a property of a foreign government and won't be taken away. Maybe it's for confirming any foreign trips between the interview and oath.

It usually takes 4-6 weeks after delivery to receive extension letter, so you're looking into mid May. Also, don't forget, USCIS had tons of people applying before April 1st to lock in old fees and they're probably overwhelmed dealing with influx of petitions. It's totally normal.

Do you have physical watermarked extension letter? The first issue you may face is airline not accepting the printout and denying boarding. Some were lucky to board with copy but it's more of an exception than rule.

It depends. In my state I didn't need SSN to get marriage license as far as I remember.

You need to have state ID or Driver's License. Show ID and SS card - that's all you need to prove status when going through I-9 verification. Those are called List B and List C documents. Employer cannot demand by law to show them GC if you have these docs.

There's no issue applying for marriage license before or after applying for SSN, as far as I know. Make sure to apply for SSN before marriage or at least before K-1 visa expiration though, because the next opportunity will only open in many months when receiving EAD or GC.

I disagree with this statement. Having SSN solves a lot of issues. AOS can take a year or so, and not being able to drive / bank / build evidence of married life is painful. AOS is restrictive as is, it's not worth depriving the new immigrant of vital things. Using passport as ID is a bad idea in my opinion for at least three reasons: 1. Passport is a document for travelling outside of the US. If lost, immigrant will have issues travelling home in case of emergency. 2. Passport has endorsed immigrant visa which is proof of legal entry. If lost and if ever questioned by USCIS, it's hard to prove legal entry without it! No proof of legal entry = no adjustment in most cases. 3. Furthermore, if immigrant only has passport as ID, if lost - they have NO ID and no easy way go get a new ID. State ID / DL is a much better choice to show around. Passport is best kept safe at home when not travelling. 4. Many Americans cannot understand / don't want to / doubt foreign issued documents including passports. It's a much better idea to show state ID / DL for routine identity verification. Don't you want the immigrant to integrate in US society faster?

My opinion is somewhat different. Get SSN first while K-1 is valid. This would allow to add fiance to lease, bank accounts, health insurance and allowing to build evidence of bonafide marriage early in the process. Many people realize this when they get RFE during AOS and cannot get any new evidence without SSN.
