not exactly soothing to know that our inquiries haven't even been assigned to anyone after 5 weeks, and then again, after an additional week lol

Hey Sandra, yes you are correct. My petition is at the embassy in Moscow. But I kinda feel badly for discussing the subject when there are still those of you who are continuing to wait, even far beyond the amount of time I waited. So I'll make it short; our son David is now an American just the same as any other US citizen. The CRBA on May 7th went well. We are waiting for his US passport to arrive, it should be here by Thursday. Once we have that we can get his Russian International Passport, which will require another two week wait (I paid a ~$300 expedite fee to get the two weeks, otherwise it would have been much longer). With both of those in-hand, David is legal to both depart Russia and enter the USA. I've completed the DS-160, paid the fee and tried to schedule the interview for Elena. But the website stated that they needed to review everything before we can schedule that appointment, so for now we wait. In the end, yes, there is a very real chance that we'll be able to go home together. And *that* is what I fought for so arduously these past few months. So we'll see. Meantime I am staying very busy with general dad duties; I go through various stages of tired, never really sleep enough. The tradeoff for being so tired all of the time is that I'm getting to do way-crazy cool things like teach him about the Roadrunner and Wylie Coyote ... yes I realize that it's absurdly soon for that kind of thing, but why not enjoy it, right?
Ok enough. This was supposed to be short! Again, I'll be around rooting and praying for all of you fellow September filers who have endured so much via such a long wait! You've definitely had it rough! Once everyone is in the US and settled, we all oughta have a meetup somewhere to celebrate the LONG journey!

Yeah, well ultimately it will depend on how much your senator and/or congressman's office gives a cr@p about these issues, unfortunately. That said, did you explain your situation, ergo how long you've waited, the processing time imbalance and the fact that you're officially outside the "normal processing time window" BS? If so, and IF one of those offices gives a hoot, then they should be able to spring into action for you and get something done. Again, it depends entirely on the office....so let us know how it's going.
Still rooting, praying and keeping fingers crossed for all remaining September filers!

You're not a K-1 applicant. Just check the K-1 timelines here and you'll see where the OP got that idea. CSC has been averaging less than 2 months for K-1s for over a year now.

This is the difference between being approved in 4 weeks vs being approved after 8 months:
    Quick approval reaction:
"Yay! I'm so happy. We only sent our petition at the beginning of the month and we were just approved last night. I'm going to go pack away the laundry and will check in with you all later."
    Long, agonizing wait reaction:
"OMG I can't breathe. I'm shaking and crying and just so relieved that they didn't lose our petition because we were seriously starting to wonder ... I mean how is it possible that a few forms can vanish into a black hole for 8 months?"
This alone should be a glaring sign that something is terribly wrong with the system.
Congratulations to the recent approvals. To those still waiting, we are still here, waiting to celebrate with you.

Yeah, most likely the problem was that you have met her in person only once and spent 2 weeks together. You two need to spend much more time together in person before even applying for a spousal visa. High fraud country consulates are hard to please, for a good reason.
    Good luck!

You're not THAT person. TSC is THAT agency. Seriously, in what universe is it remotely acceptable to split families apart for entirely unreasonable lengths of time with no updates, no information, and refer them to statistics which are completely meaningless because the published processing information is updated today and refers to a time weeks and weeks in the past. Especially given that they do not process in order. September filers should not be waiting. October and November filers should not be waiting. Maybe, just maybe it would be almost OK for the last part of December to be sitting with adjudicators, but hey, I'm just preaching to the converted here. 8 months to get someone to look at a piece of paper. Just wait until you all get a copy of your approved petition from your embassy. I couldn't stop staring at ours. A bar code sticker, a stamp that says approved and a few numbers filled in pen by NVC (so even that didn't happen at the service center).

As far at financial loss, they only care about the U.S. citizen and their obligations, not anything about the immigrant. Even if he's paying everything for you, they don't care. The seriously couldn't care less that you two are paying for 2 apartments because even if you didn't apply for the visa you both would have seperate homes in seperate countries....you aren't in a severe financial loss. You as you were before applying.

I also don't accept the background check thing as a significant reason for the delays at the TSC. Granted, there are likely exceptions, I mean I'm sure that there are some folk whose background checks take longer, but they must be relatively low in number, quite low I'd say, by comparison to the overall number of I-129F filers. And when many folk wait and wait and wait and wait in the TSC while CSC filers speed through to the finish line... meh ... background checks aren't playing a significant part WRT the delay.
There is the assertion that the relative out-of-order of approvals within the same service center are also attributable to background checks, but in this context I tend to go more with the notion that some adjudicators are faster than others and that adjudicators are - in the end - real life people who get sick and take vacations from time to time.
    Just my $.02. FWIW. YMMV.

No. I really don't think it has anything to do with you, or anyone else at TSC. If you look around at any TSC timelines, save for a few that got lucky and slipped through, everyone is waiting well beyond what could be deemed even remotely near reasonable wait times. If that were the case, CSC would have far more filers sitting around for months before getting an approval. I personally don't buy into this background check story as a reason for delays. It would need to be extreme and exceptional circumstances to cause significant delays.
Bottom line is that it's taking long because the case load distribution has been badly managed and imbalanced and the problem left to spiral out of control for so long that they can't even address it.

Wow! Page 167 was a tough, but good read. The myriad of emotions that y'all are experiencing as you continue to wait but also continue to see those who filed after you - and within your same service center - being approved ahead of you were overt, palpable, heart-wrenching and tear-generating (for lack of a better term). And we won't even mention the CSC and their - generally speaking - obnoxious filers; we did all we could to level the playing field. Time will tell whether or not the March 27th thing will accomplish that; TBD. But anyway I'm straying. If it's ok to say, just know that I'm your biggest supporter. Like wbeem, I won't leave the thread until everyone receives their NOA2. I'm monitoring things, hoping and praying for all of you.
May more September approvals surface tonight and the remainder of the week!

Sounds like you're just after a green card to me. I came on a K1 and married and applied to adjust status no problem no interview, nothing. There must have been holes in your application for them to request an interview.

At least twice people have given you questions that they needed you to answer in order to better help you. Without your answers, what this looks like is that you care more about dealing with a green card, rather than help dealing with your marriage. Your responses have only been more questions about the green card.
Can you please answer the appropriate questions and give more detail/information so that people can better help you? I know there could be a language barrier, but if you don't answer, it sounds fishy, and we don't condone fraud.

There will be no appeal since she was denied three years ago and he withdrew the I-864 (sounds like). After three years she comes asking what to do? You can work on getting back with your spouse and hope you can convince the interviewing officer you are really married this time since you failed to do so last time or you can leave the U.S.

I'm going to ignore the fact it does sound like all you want is a green card and focus on your marriage. How have you been surviving?
    Where have you been living?
If you and your husband have not been together for three years but are trying to be, then I don't understand what you've been doing all this time.
    Things to remember.
    - you are officially out of status and illegal in america.
    - a green card for you is based on a bonafied marriage that is real and works, yours isn't working so high chance for denial again.

You are out of status now and need to return home. Without a genuine marriage to your petitioner, you have no path to a green card.

This, a billion times! It has never been my dream or preference to move to the US either, but to be with the love of my life it is the only practical option at present. I suffer because I have to make this huge disrupting move but cannot properly plan for it because of an archaic process that lacks any kind of checks and balances.

    Hi Vincent
It's Lee here. I'm the beneficiary, not the USC. I want to throw a slightly different perspective in here. Sometimes text doesn't read the way it's intended, so I hope this comes across the right way.
Your investment in this process is somewhat different to that of the majority of us on here, in that you are not the fiance(e) in this process. I also have a daughter, granted she is younger than you are, and her struggles with this process have been just as real, but very different to those of myself and my fiance.
Unlike you, I didn't have any plans or dreams to try and move to the US. The only goal and desire William and I have is to be together. This is not a means for me to emigrate to the USA. The emigration process is just a necessary step I have to go through so that William and I can be together. Had it been a better option for us, we would have picked a different country to live in, but we assessed our circumstances individually, and as a couple and as a family and living in the USA was the best of what we had to work with. This process is not difficult because we don't have patience. We do not have a problem waiting. Our problem is that we can't be together while we wait. The separation and complete absence of a timescale to work with, just so we can be together is what hurts so much.
I hope that didn't come across as diminishing the challenges you face or how hard this is for you too, but I wanted to highlight that our challenges are different and you may read some of the posts and think that they are a little 'dark' or over the top. But for us, this is about being with the person we love.
