Rachel....If I were in your boots, I'd make an infopass appointment, and toddle down the USCIS office to see if they can help you renew your green card earlier.
I've always found them to be very helpful .
I hope you can get it sorted out!

Its a good thing you had not left yet since you are seeing all these problems with the relationship already.
As LET-IT-BE-SAID it would be good if you could 'tidy up' things so that there is no problem in the future.
Send the email yourself to cancel and see how it works out. Make sure you keep a copy of it in case anything comes up in the future.
    Good luck.

You may likely get your approval in the next weeks since you are already 5 months into the process. If you haven't sign up in USCIS for updates you may want to do that. Once the I-129F petition is approved you can then go ahead email the service center that you are going to cancel the said petition. Include information such as full names, date of births, (your)country and case number of beneficiary and petitioner.
That is if your petitioner is not willing to withdraw the petition himself. It won't hurt sending the email yourself though.
Formally cancelling the petition will be vital in an event that you won't have any problems if you are petitioned by another US citizen in the future. I have heard /read of two cases in the US Embassy Manila. The petitions weren't formally withdrawn by the previous petitioners. The beneficiaries were found ineligible to receive visas during their interviews. The files/petitions were returned/sent back to the service centers pending further processing. One eventually had a 2nd interview & got approved while the other one I don't know what the outcome was since she hasn't returned to the forum to update her case.

We were allowed to bring in cell phones and cameras at my Oath ceremony. Many people here report being able to do the same. We were told to remain in our seats for the ceremony and were not allowed to have personal items such as a purse, etc. with us, but my husband had my purse and camera and took pictures during the ceremony from the side of the room where he was sitting. (The applicants were all together in the center of the room - spectators sat and stood around at the edge) I haven't heard of anyone being told they couldn't bring in a camera. You may not be allowed to carry it but someone who comes with you will.
Congratulations on your ceremony and Enjoy the experience

You should be fine. You told the truth as you knew it when you filed. You have since learned something new that your wife hadn't told you. She is still divorced from that prior husband so your eligibility is still valid. Explain at the interview what happened and hand in that divorce decree as well. It is unlikely that this information would have made a material difference in your wife's sponsorship of you which would have been the real concern. Good luck at the interview.

Tell your girl to 'wear her big girl pants'! Now's the time to do it. No way she'll get lost in the airport. One doesn't need to be fluent in English to ask questions to fellow passengers.

Because you did not get married in the Philippines, you won't be able to get a Certificate of Marriage from the NSO.
However, if you apply for a CENOMAR from the NSO, the NSO will issue you a CRS Form No. 5 - Advisory on Marriages. This document is known as a CEMAR. It should show your marriage because you reported your marriage abroad already.

let-it-be reacted to GaryKO in Change passport name from marriage to US citizen
The process is a little different if your married, and married to a foreigner. If NVA says you need a CFO certificate, then you will not change the passport name without this. Been there and done that!
Here is what other documents can be, they may ask for this, at Cebu they probably will ask for this: Yeah they are required, if you can't provide them when asked then no certificate until you do provide them.
    1. Original and Photocopy of Birth Certificate (From NSO or CTC from Local Civil Registrar duly authenticated by NSO).
    2. Photocopy of Birth Certificate of Husband/Fiancee.
    3. Photocopy of Passport of Husband/Fiancee.
    4. Photocopy of a Divorce Decree of husband, if he is divorced.
    5. Photocopy of Proof of Singleness of Fiancee {CENOMAR).
    6. Photocopy or copy of picture together (you and your husband/fiancee.
    7. If under 23 years of age a notarized/certified letter from parents giving permission to leave the Philippines, even if married in the Philippines.
    8. If a fiancee is 18 to 21 a parental consent affidavit and letter from parents giving permission to leave the Philippines.
    9. If a fiancee is 22 to 25 a parental advise affidavit and if under 23 a letter from parents giving permission to leave the Philippines.
Also you need to know about your husband/fiancee complete name, birthday, address, mother's family name, how many times he/she got married/divorced (reason of divorced), how many children he had (if there is any), kind of work/job/salary, address of workplace, husband/fiance's educational attainment, course, when, where and how did you met, etc. Be sure to be able to text husband/fiancee for other information they may ask.
The NBI clearance that shows maiden and married name, may be needed to provide 2 forms of ID in married name. A postal ID in married name and the NBI will work.

let-it-be got a reaction from abner137 in Is it really need to attend CFO seminars?
I agree with plus 0212 about attending the seminar after you already have your visa. But during my time, I attended it the day before my embassy interview since I didn't have anything to do that day & I was too hyped up (for my interview the next day) to just sit around in my hotel room. I brought all my documents, evidence, and pictures. Make sure you have multiple photocopies of your pertinent papers like Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, NBI, divorce papers (if any), and ID's. I went back to get the CFO sticker after I got my visa.

"Fiancee, Spouses and Other Partners of Foreign Nationals
    What you need to know...
As Filipinos going abroad as fiancé(e)s, spouses or other partners of foreign nationals, you are required to attend the CFO's guidance and counseling session in order to secure the Guidance and Counseling Certificate (GCC) and the CFO sticker. You need this certificate to renew or apply for a new passport at the Department of Foreign Affairs (per Department of Foreign Affairs Order Nos. 11-97 Implementing Rules and Regulations for Republic Act 8239, "Philippine Passport Act" and 28-94). You will also need to present this certificate together with your spouse/partner visa, at the Immigration office at the international airport on your day of departure.
To attend the seminar, you may proceed to either two of CFO's service providers: the St. Mary Euphrasia Foundation-Center for Overseas Workers (SMEF-COW) or the People's Reform Initiative for Social Mobilization, Inc. (PRISM).
You will have to bring with you the required documents to be accommodated in the counseling seminar. The counseling session runs for a minimum of two hours and is meant to provide you with adequate information regarding inter-marriage and migration, the cultural and social realities abroad as well as available support networks for women in distress, among others.
After you comply with all the requirements and finish the counseling session, you will be given the Certificate of Attendance by SMEF-COW or PRISM which you will have to bring along with other pertinent documents, to the CFO, for registration. Once you already have your valid passport and spouse/partner visa, then you have to register with the CFO. You will then be issued the GCC as well as the CFO Sticker.
    Important Notes:

The CFO and SMEF-COW have offices in Metro Manila and Metro Cebu. PRISM is in Metro Manila only. Visit the offices where it is most convenient.
Please check the schedule of the counseling session before proceeding to SMEF-COW or PRISM because it is country-specific and the slots are only limited. It is on a first-come-first-serve basis.
You may avail of the Guidance and Counseling Session even while you are still processing or waiting for your visa. If such is the case, you will only be issued the GCC. Once your visa is released, you will return to CFO to continue with your registration. The CFO sticker will then be affixed on your passport. You will pay a fee totaling PhP 650.00. The PhP 250.00 is paid as counseling fee at SMEF-COW or PRISM while the PhP 400.00 is for registration at the CFO."

If they don't schedule one I think that is an error, I've seen it happen too but normally everyone gets called for biometrics at every stage. As I said, mine was July 21st last year and I have a biometrics appointment this week.
It's good things are finally moving along, once you have had your biometrics appointment you will be in line for an interview! Yay, one step closer to being a citizen!
