Is it the Trump campaign’s position that Donald Trump should not be allowed to vote?😂 Trump’s Campaign Attacks Tim Walz for Allowing “Convicted Felons to Vote” Trump’s campaign did not waste any time on Tuesday going after Kamala Harris’s newly announcedrunning mate, Minnesota governor Tim Walz. Though perhaps an extra beat or two might have given the team time to come up with a line of attack stronger than the one about letting convicted felons vote—which is a bit odd given the guy at the top of the GOP ticket! Yes, in a statement released shortly after the Walz news was official, a spokesperson for Trump’s campaign condemned the governor for “embracing policies to allow convicted felons to vote.” As a quick reminder, Donald Trump was found guilty of 34 felony counts last May, making him—you guessed it—a convicted felon. https://www.vanityfair.com/news/story/trump-campaign-attacks-tim-walz-for-allowing-convicted-felons-to-vote

What to Know About Tim Walz’ 1995 Drunk Driving Charge It’s an episode in his life that Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz points to as the reason he stopped drinking. In 1995, Walz was a 31-year-old high school teacher living in Nebraska when he was pulled over for speeding, failed a sobriety test, and was arrested, according to court documents posted online two years ago by Alpha News, a conservative site based in Minnesota. He later pleaded guilty to reckless driving. Since that night, Walz has served with the Army National Guard, rising to the rank of command sergeant major, won six Congressional races, and was elected to two terms as Governor of Minnesota. And now, Vice President Kamala Harris has picked him to be her running mate. Soon after Walz’ name emerged on Harris’ shortlist, supporters of former President Donald Trump began sharing details of Walz' nearly 30-year-old DUI on social media. https://time.com/7008431/tim-walz-dui-drunk-driving/

Vice President Kamala Harris had just 16 days to pick someone she could be linked to forever. She ended up going with one of the options that she — and the rest of the world — knew the least. This is the inside story of how Harris got to Walz, based on interviews with more than a dozen Democrats, several of whom requested anonymity to speak candidly about what happened behind the scenes. Candidates who have gone through vetting processes in previous years describe it as a grueling and uncomfortable process that more than one have compared to a proctology exam. There are exhaustive questionnaires about the candidates’ legal, financial, political, personal, family and employment backgrounds, followed by hourslong interviews known as “murder boards” at which dirty laundry is aired and hypothetical scenarios are presented to see how the candidates react. And then, maybe, they get to meet with the candidate for the actual job interview. “It’s a grind of a process,” said former Housing Secretary Julián Castro, who was vetted to be Hillary Clinton’s running mate in 2016. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-election/story-kamala-harris-chose-tim-walz-rcna163290

Do NOT write or explain anything…under no circumstances should you cancel the I-130s. They are perfectly fine for your to submit and will cause no confusion to simply let them be. . Check to make sure you filled out the I-485 correctly and that it reflects the I-130 as basis. If $$ is tight you can skip I-131 and I-765 for both as they are about 6 months from application to green card Am assuming you meant I-864 Use fee calculator to double check and send separate checks for each https://www.uscis.gov/feecalculator

You do not need to renew the U4U as your status is now pending adjustment. Just do not travel outside the US without also getting an advance parole (I-131) based on the adj

U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan has once again taken control over the 2020 election-related prosecution against former President Donald Trump and could soon lay out how the case will move forward in the coming weeks. Chutkan's work is likely to be most consumed in determining whether the rest of Trump's alleged actions — namely that he worked to organize false slates of electors, communicated with outside attorneys to execute that plan and urged his supporters to descend on Washington on Jan. 6 — fall within the scope of official or unofficial acts. As the 2020 election-related case against Trump appears to get going again, Smith's other prosecution against the former president was dismissed by U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon in Florida last month after she found the special counsel was not legally appointed. Smith has appealed the ruling and litigation is set to commence later this month, but Trump's successful challenge of his appointment in the classified documents case could pose further challenges to the case in Chutkan's court. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-2020-election-case-judge-tanya-chutkan-supreme-court-immunity/

Supreme Court rejects Missouri's bid to halt Trump’s sentencing in N.Y. hush money case The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday rejected the state of Missouri’s long-shot bid at halting former President Donald Trump’s sentencing and gag order in his New York hush money case. Missouri had argued that the rights of Missouri voters to hear from presidential candidates were being violated by the New York criminal proceeding. In an unsigned two-sentence order, the court denied Missouri's motion for leave to file a bill of complaint, and dismissed as moot the state's motion for https://www.npr.org/2024/08/05/nx-s1-5064424/supreme-court-trump

Ex-Trump attorney agrees to cooperate in Arizona fake electors case Jenna Ellis, Donald Trump’s 2020 campaign attorney charged in Arizona as part of the fake electors scheme, has agreed to cooperate with prosecutors in exchange for getting her charges dismissed. Arizona’s attorney general, Kris Mayes, announced the deal on Monday, sharing a legal agreement that shows Ellis agreed to sit for interviews and turn over documents related to the scheme. The agreement also calls on Ellis to “testify completely and truthfully at any time and any place requested by the Arizona attorney general’s office”. In exchange, Ellis will avoid potential jail time for her role in the scheme. “This agreement represents a significant step forward in our case,” Mayes said in a statement. “I am grateful to Ms Ellis for her cooperation with our investigation and prosecution. Her insights are invaluable and will greatly aid the state in proving its case in court.” In Arizona, 18 people were charged – the 11 people who falsely attested that Trump had won the state’s electors, and seven others from Trump’s circle who helped coordinate the scheme https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/article/2024/aug/05/trump-lawyer-jenna-ellis-arizona-fake-electors-deal

A Virginia man was charged with threatening to kill Kamala Harris. According to an affidavit in support of a criminal complaint, 66-year-old Frank Carillo, of Winchester, made 19 threatening comments about the vice-president and Democratic presidential nominee, using the rightwing platform Gettr. The affidavit cites 19 mentions of Harris on the platform by an email account associated with Carillo, including a vow to “cut your eyes out of your head while you’re alive ” and the statement: “Kamala Harris needs to be put on fire alive I will do it personally.” Writing in late July, after Joe Biden withdrew from his presidential re-election campaign and Harris closed in on the Democratic nomination for November’s race, Carillo said: “Harris is going to regret ever trying to become president because if that ever happened I will personally pluck out her eyes with a pair of pliers but first I will shoot and kill everyone that gets in my way that is a ###### promise.” The same document said federal agents “seized an RF-15 rifle and a 9mm handgun” from Carillo’s residence. A woman with whom Carillo lived said he bought the guns in 2023 and 2024. A comment from the account linked to Carillo, from February this year, said: “I HAVE MY AR-15 LOCKED AND LOADED.” https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/article/2024/aug/06/kamala-harris-threat

Good question..let’s see Gender wage gap persists in 2023Women are paid roughly 22% less than men on average March 12 is Equal Pay Day, a reminder that there is still a significant pay gap between men and women in our country. The date represents how far into 2024 women would have to work on top of the hours they worked in 2023 simply to match what men were paid in 2023. Women were paid 21.8% less on average than men in 2023, after controlling for race and ethnicity, education, age, and geographic division. There has been little progress in narrowing this gender wage gap over the past three decades, as shown in Figure A. While the pay gap declined between 1979 and 1994—due to men’s stagnant wages, not a tremendous increase in women’s wages—it has remained mostly flat since then. https://www.epi.org/blog/gender-wage-gap-persists-in-2023-women-are-paid-roughly-22-less-than-men-on-average/ Representation of women in senior leadership LinkedIn data indicates that the share of women in senior leadership positions – where “senior leadership” is defined as Director,13 Vice-President (VP)14 or C-suite15 – is at 32.2% in 2023 nearly 10 percentage points lower than women’s overall 2023 workforce representation of 41.9%. Women continue to be outnumbered by men in senior leadership positions across all industries, especially so in fields like Manufacturing (24.6% women); Agriculture (23.3%); Supply Chain and Transportation (23.0%); Oil, Gas and Mining (18.6%); and Infrastructure (16.1%). https://www.weforum.org/publications/global-gender-gap-report-2023/in-full/gender-gaps-in-the-workforce/

What does 'woke' mean and why are some conservatives using it? The definition of "woke" changes depending on who you ask. The term has recently been used by some conservatives as an umbrella term for progressive values, often using it with negative connotations. However, the term was originally coined by progressive Black Americans and used in racial justice movements in the early to mid-1900s. To be "woke" politically in the Black community means that someone is informed, educated and conscious of social injustice and racial inequality, Merriam-Webster Dictionary states. A historical recording of the protest song "Scottsboro Boys" by Lead Belly in the 1930s -- as captured by Smithsonian Folkways, the non-profit record label of the National Museum -- is often cited as one of the earliest uses of the term. The Scottsboro Boys were nine Black teenagers falsely accused of raping two white women aboard a Southern Railroad freight train in northern Alabama in 1931 in a case that lasted decades, according to the National Museum of African American History and Culture. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/woke-conservatives/story?id=93051138
