Or the "Buy before date"
I don't want to know when I should buy the milk, I want to know when it's okay to use the damn thing!!!
YEAH!! That's on yogurt too, and alot of stuff here. "Sell by" date. It should be "use by" date. I don't care when I need to buy it buy, how about using it? In Canada, it's simple. EXPIRATION DATE
ugh i'm a TOTAL hypochondriac and need strict guidance about when to use things like that, so it annoys me too!

I lived in Brazil for many years and for a long time there they had milk in guess what? Bags.... I always thought it was kind of weired, but got used to it.
well it's only odd to me because we have no beverages in bags here at all (unless you count 'capri sun') in the u.s.
you know whats funny? i'm a huge kids in the hall fan and after i saw the bagged milk in canada i noticed they had a pitcher of it in one of their skits.
i've been a fan since the 90's, but i never noticed it for some reason!
so interesting. bags of milk in more countries than i originally suspected. and here i thought i was a citizen of the world
clearly not!
but why only MILK? why not juices?

i saw bagged milk for the first time in syria. i was looking at it and poking it and my sister in law said its milk. i was like oh ok.
lol! that was sort of my immediate reaction at the store, too, to jiggle it.
Bagged milk: nature's silicone.
hah! if you needed a viable alternative to surgery i suppose you could very well stuff them down your shirt! another pro! very good...
-
But my friend in Poland (where I saw the bag milk) said that the do not last as long as the jug milk because you cannot seal the bags once opened.
yeah i was wondering about that! are there clips for the bags to close them in the fridge? milk kind of absorbs scents also, so...
i put my milk cartons in the recycling bin, but i don't know if they do recycle them being that they are like, waxed cardboard. so the bags still trump the cartons in that respect.

Hm, less waste?
Both the big bag and the smaller bags are recyclable.
I don't find them very easy to puncture, but I also never got sharp stuff near them.
I havnt had those things in my house for years, my parents went soy and I dont drink milk anymore.
I still think they're cool though.
recyclable is a huge plus. i assumed since they were plastic they probably wouldn't be so.
easy to puncture in the grocery store is really what i meant what with the stocking and sitting on a shelf with pointy-ish cartons...

i dated my fiance for SEVEN YEARS before i knew of this phenomenon.
it's not like me to go in and out of someone's fridge if i'm a guest (and lactose intolerant), so i was caught completely unaware.
i came across it (god knows what i was googling at the time) on a canadian site (i read some european countries have bagged milk as well) and was shocked. SHOCKED, I TELL YOU! or at least very bemused at the idea. i demanded to see this "bagged milk" the next time i was in canada and when he came walking in with the infamous pitcher and it was complete culture shock. i have traveled a bit and had never come across milk in bags.
it seems to me that they would be easy to puncture and therefore less desirable?
is this more common in some areas than others? what are the pro's of milk in bags?

Hi Bogartnoir,
Sorry to hear about your situation, and I hope that your disability income comes soon. In the meantime, it's good that you have your parents as co-sponsors to help you and your significant other with the immigration case. Lol..likewise, I had to use a co-sponsor for my immigration case too, so I can relate to you about the co-sponsor thing there.
In answer to your question:
-Overall, the USCIS does not care how about the exact amount of income you have (or lack of income). Income-wise, the only thing they care about is whether or not the income is above the "poverty level" for the affidavit of support. So whatever you have in your bank account and/or other assets have to be equal and/or above this level, or otherwise, they won't take that into consideration. Lol..for example, you can have 2 cents in your bank account, and they wouldn't care, as that doesn't meet the amount required to be above poverty level.
-The only thing you would have to disclose is your lack of income, and explaination as to why this is such. For example, a letter stating that you are waiting for disability and cannot work in the meantime and why you will need co-sponsors for your case.
-Despite your lack of income, you still have to fill out an affidavit of support, and put your work income as "0". But if specifically asked about your bank accounts, and/or other assets, during the interview, then you would have to disclose about this and not lie about it to an immigration officer.
-Your co-sponsors need to fill out one of these affidavit of support forms too, and fill out their financial information and particulars, that is above the poverty level, to be considered as co-sponsors in your immigration case.
Hope this helps. Good luck on your immigration journey too.

thank you so much for the thoughtful and informative answer! that makes me feel a bit better. i will do what you suggested and write out a letter explaining my situation. hopefully that, along with my co-sponsors income, will make this an easy interview for us.
again, thank you very much and thanks for the good luck!
-
oh god.
now i am very very worried. i have never been a very lucky person and i'm terrified that they're going to reject us because i have no income
(do have a co-sponsor that makes well- over, but i read someplace else that someone like me was denied).

what up, canadian mail? you don't get mail on saturdays? what's that all about?
the lady from DOS said our p4 was mailed on tuesday. should be near southern ontario by now? hopefully?
i'm officially freaking the frick out.
-
okay i'm going to leave the numbers as is then and hope for the best! thanks again, guys!

I'm not following you, if you have filled out the form you don't need to disclose anything else. What, specifically, is your concern?
well i put 0 for all forms of income, but i do have a bit of money squirreled away in my bank account. nothing terribly significant, but i don't want it to bite me in the ####- you know what i'm saying? like, could i get in trouble for having a couple of thousand in the bank and not disclosing that?
-
well i thought i was done with my paperwork, but now i'm worried about my affidavit of support.
i am disabled and don't have any income...
that is, i have a bank account with money in it. and my parents (co-sponsors) are helping me out while i wait for ssi disability to kick in, but i don't have a regular job at the moment.
do i need to disclose anything on my affidavit?
anyone? i could really use the help. :\

as the petitioner (going to the interview with my hunny) what do *I* need to bring with me? pictures? emails? the noa2? anything else?
Did you already give him the affidavit of support and all your financial information? And don't forget your passport! You need that to get into the building.
i'll be bringing the affidavits and i hope my folks filled out the paperwork right because it will be in a sealed envelope (they are very private about their finances). i am disabled and don't make any income, so my paperwork was easy.
as for my passport- my last name was spelled incorrectly on it and it's currently in the hands of the passport office. i hope to get it back this next week! EEP! cutting it close!

after reviewing trip advisor about la tour having bed bugs - I cancelled
I did priceline.com just now and got the Hyatt for 58USD/night
that's actually cheaper then La Tour!!!
i want to do this but i dont understand how to get the hotel you want on priceline!!! is there a trick?
anybody stayed at the montreal novotel? the boy and i stayed there in toronto and it was nice and clean.

i request hotel tips!
grant is taking the greyhound, i'm taking amtrak from nyc
We stayed at the Hyatt (5 minute walk from the Embassy) and got the room on Hotwire for $64 (US)!! LOVED the room and the hotel was amazing.
Check our beddingbidding.com and that site will help you determine the hotel and current rates for the night you're looking at through either Priceline or Hotwire. We did our honeymoon hotel through Priceline and got a hotel for $100/night while the rate on the hotel's wrbsite was over $200/night.
So, you can get some GREAT deals that way! Now that I know how to work the PL/HW system, I'll keep going back!
Best of luck!
Hyatt Regency Montreal
1255 Jeanne-Mance, PO Box 130,

this the one? I'M ON IT! thanks!
