New member here and hoping from some insight on the inner workings of our consulate in Montreal
 
Interview was Friday Sept 8 2023, did almost everything right but had to mail one missing original document (still kicking myself over this)
I was told that I didn't need to go back to Montreal since the interview went well
Promptly sent in the document on Monday Sept 11 and they signed for it Wednesday Sept 13
Status was updated on Sept 21 (guessing they opened my envelope and put it in the queue)
After weeks of "Refused" status on CEAC, I emailed just to be sure they have everything they need
Got a reply Nov 2 saying all is good, just waiting for a consul officer to approve my document
 
Sooo, it's now...
66 days since the interview
61 days since they received my document and passport
53 days since they updated my file
 
I am really hoping they issue it this week (I was told 6 to 8 weeks).
 
I travel (not to the US) for work and I have delayed my travel (to client site) to end of Nov because that's about as much as I could delay it. I figure almost 3 months should be safe.  I hope I am not wrong.  Not really sure what to do with the client if I have to delay my travel further.
 
Anyone else facing the same challenge?

This is proof that a visa is not actually approved until after the interview has taken place, administrative processing is done, and the status has changed to "Issued".  Hopefully, the visa will be issued very soon.

Every case is different....Every person who looks at the packages is different.  Your case is probably close to being looked at.  

They gave us a new vaccination card with all vaccines my wife received.

Booking details are not evidence that travel occurred.   People book trips and then don’t go.  Dates on pics cannot usually be independently verified (i e, you can write whatever), and the letter of intent confirms intent to marry and has nothing to do with the meeting requirement.
 
Boarding passes and passport stamps are good.   For countries that no longer  routinely do passport stamps, you can request one, or request an electronic record of admission.

What was date of the last visit?  What was the date the I-129f was sent?  Dated Boarding passes, passport stamps, dated bookings receipts showing both names should be adequate.  It sounds like the form wasn't filled in correctly.  

(Update on my case ) My fiancee had her interview this past Friday. The embassy gave her a 221g. All they ask is for her to send her birth certificate back to the embassy.
 She misplace it and also they are waiting for her medical results to arrive at the embassy. she said her interview was less than 10 minutes and all went well.

Hope it goes smooth ... plenty of waiting (for us unlucky ones) in the next step too.

One reason for sure because we born in Iran! 

Our case went under administrative processing after interview. And still waiting...

Good Day to All... I just wanted to give a small update on my case. My case has been sitting at the US Embassy in Accura Ghana since Aug 1st.
I'm just waiting for the calendar to open so I can schedule a date for the interview.  Has been tough just sitting and waiting  ( Yes ! ) The journey continues.

One reason why it might have been redacted is because they can not release any information they gathered on your Wife without her consent signed under perjury (and probably notorazed) as well your VOI signed under perjury.  I suggest re-filing the FOIA, request that "risk and fraud" section, and include the above in your request. Here is what I received from an FOIA appeal I did.
 
 As with all FOIA requests you will need to provide Verification of Identity/VOI - the full name, current address, date and country of birth, and consent from the subject of record signed under the penalty of perjury/notary to have those records disclosed to you. They may still redact for other reasons, but it is free and worth a try. Let us know.

I know this is not what you want to hear, but I think it is something that you should consider... How well do you know your wife's past from before you met her? Is there any possibility that she was married to someone else (officially/religiously/etc) before you?

Are you sure you’ve gotten the whole background story from your wife?
 
The pages and pages of redacted documents makes me think there is more to this than just an unfounded suspicion that she was already married at the K-1 interview.

Was she married before she filed K-1? Including a religious wedding.

Did your wife ever apply for visa to the U.S. or any other country before applying for the K-1?

You can check the average K-1 processing time as reported by other VJ members below.  It appears the average reported time for USCIS approval is about 370 days.
 
 

well, actually it did work. The embassy contacted me for the K2 Approval. they already know the K1 is attached to it ( the mother) Secondly what happened was I was waiting on the mothers renewal passport.
 basically, i did it the other way around ( my mistake ) but it worked ok. i just attached the mother to the child. ( Remember.. they already have your paperwork at the embassy) 
 right now I'm just waiting on an open date on the calendar
