Thanks for the well wishes, everyone!
The last few days were rough, healthwise, but today is looking better.
I have already received a new interview date—April 11th. So, I was right with my time frame estimate of 4-6 weeks, and I'm okay with it. It's nothing in the grand scheme of things.
I was a little nervous about the rescheduling process, but in the end, it was super easy. I called the USCIS Contact Center number listed on my Interview letter less than 24 hours before my interview. I told them I was sick and needed to reschedule. They asked if this was my first time rescheduling, and once I confirmed, they said it shouldn't be a problem. They take note of your request to reschedule and forward it to the field office. I was told that if I didn't hear from them (the FO) within 72 hours, I should call the Contact Center and ask for an update. The following day, even before my original interview time, I already had a new interview date.
I asked my doctor for a note and confirmation of my COVID diagnosis, just in case, but I wasn't asked to provide anything. I'll keep it on hand, just in case.
So, just a small bump in the road, and as @BeautifulAmerica said, at least the weather should be warmer for the oath ceremony! 😃 -
So here’s something I didn’t see coming…
My interview was scheduled for tomorrow morning, and I was looking forward to it.
I started feeling under the weather on Sunday but didn’t worry too much about it. It got worse over the past two days, so I decided to get checked out today.
Turns out it’s Covid! 🤬
I had to call USCIS to reschedule my appointment, and I'm frustrated!
Shortly after, I got a confirmation email that my interview had been canceled and that I had been placed back in the scheduling queue.
I wonder how long this is going to set me back. I'm guessing 4 to 6 weeks at least, if not more.
Hope everyone else is having a better day!

Congratulation Bro!
What's the date ?
Is it scheduled within three months from the date you filed your N-400?
Thanks!
11/03/23 - N-400 submitted online
12/03/23 - received biometric notice
12/20/23 - biometrics appointment
01/03/24 - received interview notice
02/21/24 - interview appointment
So the actual appointment is outside of 3 months since filing.- dimond, Visitor User and Dags

You had to do re do biometric with finger print and picture?
I did my Biometric in November 2017 for AOS.Yup. Fingerprinting and picture.
My visa interview was in April of 2020. I was previously in the country on a K-1 > CPR > PR. We moved to Europe in 2011, gave back my GC in 2016, and then moved back to the U.S. in 2020.
The last time I did biometrics at an ASC before today must have been back in 2007 when I got my 10-year GC. -
Had my biometrics appointment today. In and out in under 15 minutes. Great experience!

Not sure about everyone else, but I came on an IR-1 via DCF. At the time of my interview in Frankfurt, the USCIS office there had already permanently closed, so the State Department did my biometrics and I haven't had any done since then. I would assume that has something to do with it. I expected that I would have to go get biometrics done at an ASC, so all good on my end.- Visitor User and dimond

Thank you for your reply, Now I Am a little confused about understanding it. Did your biometrics reused or did you get the letter for a biometrics appointment?
You said, "If you didn’t receive a notice that your biometrics will be reused, I assume they’ll schedule you for an appointment. That’s what happened to me." Did you get your N-400 interview scheduled without a biometrics appointment?
It's almost 20 days now since I submitted N-400 online but no letter i have received for biometrics. Worried I am
No, I didn't have biometrics reused. I received notice exactly one month after I applied that I had been scheduled for a biometrics appointment.
So, based on my case, I don't think you have anything to be worried about. I'm sure you'll receive a biometrics notice soon.- dimond and Visitor User

HeLLO NOVERMBER FILERS
I have filed N-400 online on 26th November, and only received initial notice of the case received but no Biometrics reuse.
Hope I will get my Biometrics notice sooner.
Filing Date: Nov 26, 2023
Receipt Notice: Nov 26, 2023
Field Office: BOSTON
If you didn’t receive a notice that your biometrics will be reused, I assume they’ll schedule you for an appointment. That’s what happened to me.
i received my biometrics appointment notification exactly 1 month after submitting the N-400 online.
Good luck!

I am sorry. I never said my attorney has been a lawyer longer than you all. I meant that he has lot of experience and has done thousands of these applications.
You all are great. I went to the office today to review what was being sent out to catch mistakes. He also emailed me the final copy of what was sent today. Lawyer’s staff does for work then lawyer reviews it. I am beyond satisfied so far.
Out of curiosity, is there a particular reason you are going through an attorney? I know some cases can be very complex and may require a lawyer. For others, it's just peace of mind.
Personally, I have not used one for any of my interactions with USCIS. I always figured all the information is available on the USCIS website, and for anything else, there's this forum, Reddit, and Google. 😄
With lawyers, it's just like with any other profession. Most are good at their jobs, fewer are excellent, and some are not worth the ink on their business cards.
Generally, I agree with what others here have suggested. If it were me, I'd err on the side of caution and send it out a day after officially being eligible. What difference do a couple of days make in the grand scheme of things? Good luck with the process! We're all in the same boat.- Visitor User and VJ0617

I did. I got the receipt notice and the biometric information on the same day. The biometric information stated that they were able to use my previous biometric records for this application. How about you?
Got my NOA right after applying. I didn't receive a biometrics letter, but I also didn't expect one, since I haven't provided biometrics in a while.
Good luck with everything!- Visitor User and NovaDC

I was a green card holder (K-1). We moved abroad and I applied for a travel document twice but then ended up returning my green card because we did not have any immediate plans to return stateside. We moved back to the U.S. last year and applied for an IR-1 this time.
Your SSN stays with you for life, however, I was assigned a new USCIS#. If I recall correctly, we did provide my previous A-number on the application form though. -
I found this thread interesting while I was waiting for my GC, so I thought I'd add my timeline as well.
Immigrant fee paid: April 6, 2020
POE (Boston): July 18, 2020
Sent to be printed: October 3, 2020Card mailed: October 6, 2020
Card received: October 9, 2020
Interesting, how these green card timelines vary. Good luck to all of you who are still waiting.- LoloBrinny, Kallapathar and Melc

hi there, I assume this is only possible for DCF's, correct? We were approved by NVC and contacted the embassy but the operator said that she could not put us through to the visa section as no-one was there.... had you had your medical prior to scheduling the emergency interview ?
thanks a lot!
Yes, I already had had my medical. All that was left was the interview.

Yeah, I know that there won't be any issuance of visas or interviews conducted - my question is whether sufficient consulate staff are working to either grant or deny an 'exceptional circumstance' petition at the moment...
I was at the consulate yesterday. There is a very limited number of staff working and they are handling emergencies only. From my POV, to get an answer to your question you need to contact the consulate via email and ask them directly. Expect to wait some time for a response. We are going through an unprecedented situation and no one knows for sure what is or isn’t possible at the moment.
-
On a side note, there’s an annotation on the visa that states “EXCEPTION UNDER PROCLAMATION”, which ensures that the visa holder is still allowed to travel while the proclamation is in place.

Quick updated on our situation.
My original interview was scheduled for March 16th and was canceled 2 days prior to the appointment due to the ongoing coronavirus situation. I reschedule the interview for the next available date, which was April 6th.
At the same time I contacted the consulate and requested an emergency appointment due to our specific situation, which was granted for March 19th. Unfortunately, that appointment was also canceled the day prior to the interview.
Early last week the April 6th appointment was also canceled and no further appointments are currently available online.
Last Thursday night I received an email from the consulate that they were granting an emergency interview for today, April 1st.
We were 1 of 4 interviews for today (all of us CR/IR-1s I believe). We received our visas in our passports on the spot (took about 2.5 hours of waiting due to final clearance checks). The interviewing officer mentioned that they were keeping track of our case and apologized that they had to cancel the first emergency appointment. So they are aware of people’s individual situations!
With that being said, if you are in a situation where you need to travel asap, you can try to reach out to the consulate in an email and explain your case. Frankfurt is operating at extremely reduced capacity (no lines out front, no one inside the consulate). If you can wait a few more weeks, I’d suggest to do so but if you’re in a real bind you can give it a try and reach out to them.
Hope this helps! -

Possibly they don’t see a point in issuing visas until it’s clear that the recipients can actually fly to the US?
Possibly. Although not every visa applicant is automatically barred from flying to the US. The proclamation seems to be fairly clear on scope and limitation.

Yeah, mine is gone, too. I'm not too worried about it, though. Not sure how accurate it was, anyway.
