That sucks to hear! I hope it's just a mistake and you don't actually have to fly to Azores...

The doctor I met with in Lisbon was Marta Monteiro at Clínica Campo Grande - Hospital St Louis. The email is clinica@hslouis.pt and their phone number is 210405500.

I don't have the doctor's contact information because we did everything through the clinic's scheduling system. I'd give them a call to ask if the doctor is still working there and is still approved by the embassy.

If that doesn't work, maybe contact the US Embassy in Lisbon as a last resort? Good luck.

    Show off...😂
    Nah, I'm happy for you.
But the law of averages states for every short wait will be a long wait. Oh well...

What do you mean by "Early Walk-in Biometrics"? Were you given the option to do the biometrics sooner than originally scheduled for? How did you set that up? I live 4 hours away from the USCIS field office, the sooner I could go the better lol

Mistakenly posted in the August AOS; received NOA July 18 for all three apps.

EAD Approved August 11. 27 days, does this mean work permit should be here soon? Finishing school in December with job placement, hoping the permit arrives in time for a smooth transition into employment.

Hi, everyone! I'm also a July filer and wanted to introduce myself and give a little background to my immigration situation.

I'm a 2020 K1 filer (applied in June), came to the US in April 2022, and filed for I-485, I-765, and I-131 on 27th July 2022. My receipt number also starts with IOE (but the address listed on the I-797C notices is in MO National Benefits Center), and the closest USCIS office to me is Omaha, NE.

Today (Aug 5th) I received 4 letters in the mail: an I-797C for each of the forms I sent, and an additional letter with my online access code. So, @EatBulaga, yes! K1-to-AOS filers should also be getting this code in letter form. Still no biometrics appointment, crossing my fingers it will come soon.

I think that's all I have so far! Good luck, everyone, and keep us posted on this journey 🙂

Passport and shipping receipt proving you mailed your documents to the I485 Lockbox allocated to your state is what is recommended until you receive I485 Noa1.

    DL laws vary by state.
In many states, a K1 cannot drive passed the 90 day period.
Some states will allow DL renewal with I485 Noa1 but many will not.

You can Google "(your state) driver's license non-US citizen" and look for the link to your state's DMV website explaining what documents you need in your state and whether a temp DL can be renewed.

Once you receive your NOA1, that would be your proof of authorized presence in the US while you wait for your petition to be adjudicated. I would carry a copy of that.
Meanwhile, I would carry proof of having mailed the application to USCIS just to have something to show in case you’re asked, although they’re not obligated to take that into consideration.

You would need to refer to your state’s DMV website. Each state has its own rules.

    Hi Diana,

I believe the medical exam is only valid for 6 months. If I had booked it right after I missed my first interview, which I could not attend, (May 2021), it would have expired by the time I got my second interview date (November 2021). So I didn't want to risk it because it's an expensive box to check. I've been told it's no problem to have the medical after the interview (and that's what I'm doing. Medical in December, interview next week).

Wait for an email from the embassy, they'll tell you when to fill out the DS-160 (it takes just over an hour to do it online) and when to start getting your documents (birth certificate, criminal record—you'll get those on the day you request them) and medical (you may have to wait 1 month for an available appointment).

My advice: wait, because it can take a while.

    Best of luck!

    Rita

Not sure if this will help. I picked up my birth certificate from the Registo Civil at Campus da Justiça (Building J) without an appointment. It's mostly in Portuguese but there's a translation key on the back. Then, I walked to building E to get it apostilled, also without needing an appointment. Did you fiancé get the birth certificate translated by a translation company and then notarize that copy? If not, then he can get his birth certificate without an appointment (despite what the security people may tell you at the entrance to the Registo Civil). He can show up, give his name to the security workers, and wait (I waited around 2 hours on a Monday morning).

Hi. I still haven't gotten an answer from IV Paris nor have I been able to book a date online... I'll call them today or on Monday to see if I can find out anything.

I hope the border opening up again helps our cases, but I'm really not sure. Fingers crossed.

Hi. Yeah, I got a NOA2 but can't find the date right now, as I'm away from home atm. They gave us an interview in May but I could not attend because of life things that got in the way. I've also emailed asking for them to reschedule, but ofc they haven't responded (yet). They did tell me on the phone to reschedule online.
