Interview went well, we were approved. My fiancé said they asked 5 really basic questions and the interview lasted 3 minutes. Her interviewer was a young man with glasses, it was in Russian, and she said he was extremely friendly and welcoming. My finance was basically disappointed by how easy it was, lol. She had stressed herself out and we both prepared so much, but the hard part is already done, the interview is just a formality. I printed out tons of pictures and mounds of proof of our relationship, as well as IRS tax docs, photocopies of everything, and so much extra stuff, that absolutely no one looked at. All they wanted was the DS confirmation page, the interview confirmation page, Medical results, Financial support doc, signed form from my fiancé of intent to marry, police form with translation, and birth certificate with translation.

I have like hundreds of other pages, plus all the pages from the original submission that they gave back to us.

Not sure your route to Poland, but we got a 15 day single entry Spanish visa. However, we didn't fly into Spain, she flew from Moscow-Istanbul-Paris. She got some grief from the person at the gate in Istanbul, asking a ton of questions why we have a Spanish visa and flying into France. Thankfully, I had her bring tickets from Barcelona-Istanbul-Moscow as well as a hotel booking in Barcelona, all of which I bought, printed out, and then immediately returned. The guy at the gate took pictures of all those forms and asked for her tickets from Paris to Barcelona, which she didn't have, but she just said we were planning on buy train tickets in Paris. He made a stink, but eventually let her board the flight.

At the Paris border, the guard asked her, her plan and she responded the same as above. The guard didn't ask for any proof and just let her pass easily.

We flew Paris to Warsaw, almost no one at the airport even looked twice at her passport. Like a half a glance to make sure her name was the same as on the ticket. At the door to the airplane in Poland, there were four policemen asking to check everyone's passports. I had a heart attack thinking they were looking for Russians entering illegally, but they only cared about checking the men and waved the women through without looking at their passports.

I had no idea the updates were still so popular! I'll try to continue them when I have time this week.

Hey all! Not sure if anyone is still following the July updates as we have mostly tapered off into nothingness, but I'll be pretty absent this week. My fiancé's interview is in Poland on Friday and I'm flying out tomorrow (Tuesday) to go meet her. I'll probably not be posting anymore updates this week. Wish us luck!

The consulate in Amsterdam was super fast, they received our petition on Jan 10th and I had my interview today. It went well! I still have to do my medical exam and supply one more document before they can officially approve the visa.

But at least the scariest part is over now! And getting so close to end!

For those arriving now or soon make sure to check the VJ process here:

We were overjoyed to be together again but the process doesn't stop. Get an SSN, driver permit, marriage license, and health insurance as soon as you can.  She got her SSN today, we applied 2 weeks after arrival as recommended here:

    Good luck everyone!

Deferred or not, being honest is the best route. even if it doesn’t show up on record, immigration can likely see more than we all know.

These are good first steps if you are wanting to do it fast! You can still pick dates after you pick your first one I would check daily for an open slot to improve your March date (you are not stuck to that date). A lot of the contradicting information is because different embassies handle things differently.  Oh and when you have your medical we got ours in hand to take to the embassy with a CD and file but another filer from this group said they could not have it and the hospital would send it directly to the embassy in Sweden so don't be alarmed if that is different.

Every embassy is different, ours was Manilla for reference. The way we got it done so quickly is we immediately filed ds160 as soon as we had "In Transit", then when we got "Ready" we paid and started looking for dates and scheduled medical (which only required the ds160 receipt page). At the Manilla embassy they only release new dates on certain days and it's first come first serve so it doesn't matter what order your received your ready status, but they do lock out for 24 hours if you check more than three times a day (not sure if this is specific to ours). So she paid and checked 3 times a day and found a date quickly (someone else canceled an interview appointment) about 3 days after we received "Ready" status which was for two weeks away. She had not completed medical yet so she completed it while waiting for interview. Good luck!

Danny & Brenda reacted to Dee76 in A little over 1 month timeline from filing to Passing my Naturalization Interview
    Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to share my Naturalization Journey.   I can not believe how quick the process was for my case.  Below is the timeline From Filing to passing my Naturalization Interview / Test.  My test preparation was only short but I am happy I passed the test.  I am just waiting for my Oath Taking.

    Case history
Status Date Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled December 13, 2022 We recommended that your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, be approved. Your case was submitted for quality review. December 13, 2022 We scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization. November 8, 2022 We are actively reviewing your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization. Our records showed nothing is outstanding at this time. October 20, 2022 We received your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, and sent you a receipt notice. October 17, 2022
My experience with the IO who interviewed me was great. IO was nice she asked me 6 civic questions and asked to write on a tablet the sentence she said.  She asked me few questions regarding details that was included in the packet I sent. She made the environment so welcoming that it made me feel relaxed (my nervousness slowly faded). She asked me questions about my job - which according to her was not anymore part of the interview but just a chit chat - my interview experience was really a nice one.  I was not asked to provide more evidence by the way. She provided me informations on what to expect during the Oath Taking Ceremony and I was surprised when she told me they are not taking my Philippine passport , only the green card.

Fantastic news, congratulations and thank you for sharing your experience!

You shouldn't be surprised USCIS didn't take your Philippines passport. US government cannot take away foreign passports (only hold temporarily for issuing visa etc). The Philippines passport is a property of Philippines 🙂

Now, you may be obliged to report your acquisition of US citizenship to Philippines,  and they may take your passport. But you should learn, I think there is a more or less straightforward procedure you can undergo to reinstate your Philippines citizenship. If you want, you can be a dual citizen and enjoy benefits of both countries. But you would be subject to laws, duties and restrictions imposed by both countries too.

Only if you get an RFE, but again, that wouldn't come until close to the 15 month adjudication time, because the petition is not looked at until then.

July 6th 2021 filer. Our interview is complete and approved. Just waiting on the visa in the mail in a week or two.

I know everyone here thinks it will never end but it will. I was actually shocked how fast it started moving once the NVC was done. We didn't have any special expedite.

Hmm the forum will be able to help you more if you complete your timeline, what you have filed, filing status and your last communication with USCIS/NVC.  You vaguely mention an interview, is this a i129f interview? Is this an adjustment of status interview? More information will help the very knowledgeable people here.

@iwannaplay54 Knows more than me I think you are fine and will probably have the transcript ready before your interview anyways. We used "client copies" of tax filings from our accountant instead of any kind of original for our affidavit.
