    Hi,

I mailed my package on 9/12 and USCIS (I got the California Center) sent the letters on 9/28. I received two letters: one stating that I do not need biometrics and another one with a code to create a USCIS account information. The letter with the extension has not arrived. In my online account, I can see that all three letters were mailed the same day and a pdf file for each one. Can we print the extension letter and use this if we need to? Or should I request USCIS to send me a new one?

Wife's I-751 status was "Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview"  from May 2019 until December of 2022.

    UPDATE TO MY TIMELINE
    9/23/23 - Shipped through USPS
9/25/23 - Packet received at Phoenix lockbox
9/27/23 - I-751 added to my USCIS account, stating case was received. No pdf uploaded
10/2/23 - Received text with receipt number, stating I-797 letter will come in the mail
    10/3/23 - Check cashed
10/4/23 - Status updated to "Case is being actively reviewed by USCIS", had notices uploaded on my account with the 48 month extension + a notice that my previous biometrics are being reused

At the bottom of my extension letter it says my case ended up at the Texas Service center... and after checking the USCIS' processing times for TSC, I realized this might take a lot longer than I hoped for 🤣

"Lawfully" is perhaps the most popular. You can use it free without their paid services.

"Case Tracker for USCIS" is simpler and doesn't need you to create an account or anything so I prefer that one.

I think since a few months ago they have been scanning all I-751 cases into ELIS for processing electronically and giving them IOE numbers.  Theoretically it would be "good" but only time will tell.  Good luck to all.

Hi fellow September filers! I sent in my application like a week ago and haven't received anything in the mail yet.
When I filed my AOS 2 years ago I had an app that would send out notifications anytime there was a change with my case, does anyone know the name of that app? I'm tired of checking the website every 2 hours lol

    Here's my timeline
    9/23/23 - Shipped through USPS
9/25/23 - Packet received at Phoenix lockbox

10/2/23 - Received text with receipt number, stating I-797 letter will come in the mail

They still haven't cashed my check.. Oh and my receipt number starts with IOE, I can't remember if that's supposed to be good or not. Finger's crossed for all of us this will be a speedy journey ☺️🤞

Our case has updated today with "Card is being produced" for the I-765. It shows the I-131 as "Case closed" and they appear as a concurrent filing, so I am pretty sure we will be receiving the combo card.

    Update to our case:

Aug 12 - Filed I-130/I-485 package November 23 - Received I-693 Deficiency notice and Biometrics scheduled in the middle of January Biometrics was scheduled in the wrong state (They used our mailing address. We updated our mailing address to be in the same state we live in, and called to reschedule) January 15 - Biometrics rescheduled about 3 weeks after original date. I'm hoping the travel and work authorization will come relatively quickly after, but there's really know way of knowing 🤷‍♀️

I think it depends where you are located! I paid $449 for exam + vaccines (had to retake MMR and TDap because I couldn’t get my records from my home country). Just the exam was $199 and this was in the LA area. Just call around and see what the best deal is and look up the doctors on Yelp before going in. I advice you to schedule it ASAP because it took about two weeks for the office to finish the paperwork, and I heard that’s pretty standard no matter where you go. Good luck with everything!

Once you have your GC you don’t need the EAD/AP. You’re a resident already!

Honestly I don’t understand how they hire these USCIS representatives. They give wrong information all the time. Once you have a GC, EAD and AP become obsolete. I wouldn’t get rid of them, just keep them for your own records.

It’s very quick and easy! Show up 15 min early, bring your notice and passport/DL and when they call you back you’ll take a quick picture (for your GC) and your fingerprints, they will ask you to write your signature on an electronic pad and that’s it. I was in and out in 15-20 minutes!

Thanks. Not really sure about the processing time (USCIS official time is 12 - 24 months I think), since it is such a small office and not many data points are available. Looking at the timelines here, it varies from 4-5 months in 2020 to 9 months most recently. Just have to wait and hope for the best.
    Congratulations to you again!

    Hello guys!

I had my interview today and it was approved on the spot! We went over the forms and that’s it. No questions about how we met, personal stuff whatsoever. I think it helped that my husband is in the army though. Good luck for you guys.

I got the notice that my biometrics was scheduled 14 days after they received my packets, but I know people who recently have waited for 8-9 months to get their biometrics appointment so there is no way to say for sure how long it should take. You just have to be patient (unfortunately)

My husbands AOS papers were mailed Friday and I got the text today saying USCIS received his package and gave us his receipt #.
I immediately put that number in the case tracker app I downloaded on my cell phone and now will be watching it like a hawk!
I don’t want us to miss anything, like his biometrics appointment.

Same for me, they didn’t upload the document on the portal. I contacted a live agent through Emma this morning because I simply have no patience and felt like I needed to know ASAP, so I found out my interview is scheduled for 12/8 ☺️ You can try to do that if you don’t want to wait!

I just got a notification on my phone today that my case has been scheduled for an interview! They didn't upload the letter onto the portal so I guess I have to wait for the actual letter to arrive in the mail to find out when, but I am so excited (and nervous!)  Hoping the interview is before the end of this year.

You're so welcome! My husband adjusted from F-1, as well. I am quite familiar with the process.
Regarding the A-number, I am looking at the I-485 here and I see that we entered the A-number that he had. His current A-number is different. I believe it gets updated once you adjust status. I would just include your most recent one A-number. I think that one will enclose your entire "file".

Great job on getting your driver's license. The fact that you both have the same address on your Driver's license is excellent evidence of residing at the same address. You should include your husband's and yours showing the same address.

I would recommend sending as much as you can with your initial packet. The evidence should date back to the time you met. Show as much longevity as possible. That is what you would do if you applied for a K-1 (fiancé) visa and then come to the US to marry and do AOS.

See... everyone does things a little different. If you adjust from k-1, all you have to do is send your marriage certificate. Then you bring the evidence that has developed since you got married. That is fine for k-1 but it is not OK for folks adjusting from F-1 or other visas. It is better to front load your application. If you do not send anything, the officer may just think that you met on Monday, married on Wednesday and filed for AOS on Friday. (I might have said that before already but it is important that you avoid that)

I would also list your husband as your emergency contact at school. Do it before your status expires, print it and include it as part of your evidence. You two should list each other as emergency contacts on everything. Work, school, etc.

He should be able to add you to his health insurance at work. Marriage is a qualifying event and he has 60 days to do it. Just go ahead and do it. That's what USCIS likes to see.
Open a joint checking account and pay all your expenses from it. It is OK to keep a personal account.

I would enter N/A for anything that does not apply to you or enter NONE if the question is asking for a quantity (children, etc)

I would say IRS transcripts are fine. He likely filed as single. You do not need to include W2 forms, though they do serve as good proof of address.
You can get this information from the instructions of the I-130, I-485, I-765 and I-131. The instructions are a separate document. Make sure you read them. That way you will not miss anything.

I would enter each period that you work. Just enter the same employer name for each period. That's fine.

You should have an A number. It should be on your OPT EAD.

This is all fine. You do want to show evidence since the time you met. That way it does not look like you met on Monday, married on Wednesday and filed for AOS on Friday. I would even include a timeline with dates, reference pictures, trips etc. would try to get a driver's license and hopefully, it will show your in-laws address. Your husband's driver's license should also show that. If you don't drive, at least get  an ID that shows that address. Present any mail that you receive at your in-laws address. If you have USPS informed delivery, print those emails. They show images of mail you receive. You should have a Social Security number by now. If you do not, go ahead and get it. It will make your life easier down the line. I would go ahead an open a joint bank account. That way you can show intent to commingle your finances. It's OK if you do not get to it.  Yes, I would include a brief narrative on your cover letter. Just a bullet point is fine.
