That’s great news! Good luck with the interview.

My folks were both approved on Feb 12 for both I-130s and I-485s. No interview. Have already received GCs in the mail. I had completely stopped checking until the cards showed up in the mail and surprised all of us. Haha. Their I-130s ended up being moved from Nebraska Service Ctr to Chicago, Il.

Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Best of luck @kels430 with the interview. 💪🏼

I received my GC today 🥳 already put in an application for Global Entry and opened some brokerage accounts finally. Still need to make an appt with the SSA to remove the conditions on my SSN and FINALLY book some flights back home to see my family, but it's all just the exceptionally easy stuff now to sort out.

Good luck to all you guys still waiting - I really do hope you all have some positive news soon!

    Hello Everyone!!!
just an update on my GC interview today. It was all done and we left the building around 30-40min. The office was a lady and very polite and friendly, she started it with saying I know all the background information and everything about your relationship is already verified and done, so I’m just going to ask some questions after your marriage and verify the response on your I-485 form ( all the Yes/No questions about commuting a crime, illegal entry etc. ) with me (beneficiary) and you guys can submit any additional documents not submitted at the time of your I-485 package.
That was it and it was super friendly conversation with the officer against both of us, and every now and then she asked about things we have done together etc like trips made, what we both enjoy together etc.

    Finally she said- you’re APPROVED!!
you’ll be receiving GC in mail about 4-5 weeks time. And, if I need any additional information I’ll be sending another mail.

We had our interview today. The officer didn't say the case was approved or denied, but a lot of things were implying it would be approved (e.g. "all documentation is present and correct", we signed a statement acknowledging that we'd have to remove conditions after two years). It's 6:40pm where we are, so I'm thinking she already went home for the day, but there's no update to our case at the moment.

A few things that may be of interest that were gray areas when I tried to research them:
    - The I-693 deficiency notice is mostly meaningless unless you didn't know your application was supposed to have one. It means your application did not have a medical, but it doesn't imply at all that it was supposed to have one.
    - Filling out just the vaccine portion of your medical is A-OK if that's the only thing that was missing from your overseas medical.
    - What was a very pleasant surprise was that the officer offered to adjudicate our daughter's I-485 as well (here on K-2) at the same time. My daughter's case was still at NBC after I had responded to the initial RFE. She said that it was possible for her to do so because my daughter's case was electronically filed, and since she's 5 years old, she doesn't need an in-person interview. Since all needed docs were present for her case as well, she would try to adjudicate hers, barring some computer issues.
    - She said they're able to access any IOE case even if they're still at the service center, but she still had the paper copy of my wife's case in front of her (permanent record style, starting with the I-129F). This is a plus for electronic filing, but the downside is that the electronic copy of it is very slow to access for them. It pretty much hangs on every single page she tries to load, so the more pages you submitted, the harder it is to evaluate. Take that for what you will; I just know that some people like submitting everything but the kitchen sink as evidence "just in case", but if more forms go electronic and things don't improve speed wise for the officers, I can imagine a case with 400 pages of evidence would be frustrating to adjudicate.

That is awesome! Congrats! Your case is flying along without much of a hiccup. Nice! Hope your interview comes up soon.

My parents did biometrics third week of October and are done with that. Received RFE for my birth certificate and I-864 exemptions for my parents so sent in their Social Security Statement and my birth certificate…again.

Went to the DMV to get my mom a State ID card today and that was unsuccessful. They couldn’t verify her status in the SAVE system and seems we have to wait another few weeks for it.

If anyone else ran into something similar at DMV, please let me know how long you had to wait for the verification. Thanks in advance.

I hope everyone else’s cases have made it to the biometrics phase and are having as much luck as @chancecody.

    Update:
EAD approved Oct 29, 2021 after expedite help with congressional support AP was approved Oct 29, 2021 as well without expedite. I received a separate “Standalone AOS approval email this morning”. I think they approved the AP as well as both of my I-765 and I-131 is in the NBC. I was pleasantly surprised.

Thank you! Hopefully, but not too concerned  it if isn’t. Yes. Both of their cases are back to “being actively reviewed” as of yesterday, 19 Oct, after I sent the RFE response. Didn’t even wait for the letter to arrive in the mail.

The annoyance was mostly that I uploaded the document they needed, right above the document that was already in there. I can’t complain all that much though. It hasn’t been a harrowing experience for my parents and I as it has been for some. For that, I’m grateful.

    Hi bomem,

USCIS is really serious about verifying proof of financial loss. The proof that they asked me was a pending job offer so you must have this.

You will get an email from USCIS about a month after your expedite request to fax “proof of financial loss such as a pending job offer”. This was the exact word from the email I received so not sure if your private loan will qualify as USCIS strictly asks for a pending job offer.

As for expediting via congressman, not sure if it helps. Below is my timeline and my job offer will expire soon:

    Expedite request: Sept 3
Requested assistance to a Member of Congress: Sept 28
Email received from USCIS to send proof of a pending job offer: Oct 1
    Faxed requested proof: Oct 1
USCIS response to Member of Congress: Oct 14 below. In short, using your Senator or Congressman/woman is not as helpful. They just “inquire” and advocate on your behalf. They cannot influence how fast USCIS can work.

“Thank you for your inquiry regarding this constituent’s immigration matter. This case will be routed for expedited processing. Once this case is reviewed, your constituent will receive a decision or notice of further action. Due to the extremely high volume of expedite requests for this case type, there are numerous cases involving exigent or humanitarian issues already in the expedite queue, and we are unable to provide a specific timeframe for the expedited review. The strict enforcement of the expedite criteria means that all cases sent for expeditious handling are urgent, and we assure you that this case will be adjudicated as soon as possible”

Also, I emphasize to everyone: Only request expedite if you have a real “severe financial loss to a person or company” or any other qualifying event in the expedite page. My member of congress told me that everyone is asking for expedite whether it has merit or not. As a result, the people who are not supposed to be expediting are taking precious times for people with real “severe financial loss”. USCIS will just deny those people who cannot prove it.

Did a walk-in for my biometrics today - no issues whatsoever, the place was completely empty although I did bump into a girl looking for the building for her appt just as I left funnily enough.

Status on both the 485 and the 765 changed to "Case is being actively reviewed by USCIS" about 30 minutes later. And my right index scanned as red during the appt though the lady didn't seem too bothered about it so I'm presuming that's fine. 😬

Update: Completed biometrics today and the status changed to “Case is being actively reviewed by USCIS” for both I-485 and I-765.

The biometric appointment took less than 10 minutes. There is a USCIS guard outside to check your appointment and inside, two USCIS guards checked my ID and appointment again before going through the metal detector. They were confused that my passport that has my maiden name on it does not match the ASC appointment letter even with a marriage certificate. They let me in regardless. Once inside, the contractor looked at my paperwork and stamped it. She then asked me to follow her to the other room to take my picture and take electronic fingerprints. The photo taking was weird as you are asked to sit down in a chair and look way up to the DSLR camera instead of taking your picture at the eye-level. Anyway, I saw how I looked like in the photo and was satisfied and relieved that I did not look like in the America’s Most Wanted List as this will be the photo that will be used in the green card and EAD/AP card.

One positive aspect that I saw was there was nobody inside USCIS Reno office. The staff is just twiddling their thumbs bored to death so I am hoping that once NBC passes it to Reno FO that it will move faster since the Reno FO seems to lack work. I saw a post about someone from Reno getting their green card in 3 months so I am hopeful.

Good luck to everyone’s journey. I hope we all get our interview dates soon.❤️

My bad. Glad the experts clarified. Yes. My I-130 is at the big service center (Nebraska to be exact), and now just the waiting game for the I-485, but not in a rush for any of them really.

Bottom left of the notice would mention a specific Service Center. Mine is an IOE receipt as well. Bottom left of the I-797 says Nebraska Service Center.

Hello one (and soon to be all 😜),

    I filed AOS for both parents from B1/B2 Visas: (Submitted I-485, I-864W, I-131, I-693)

    • 12 July: Mailed both AOS packets via FedEx
    • 15 July: Delivered later than I paid for but, packets arrived to and signed for at Chicago
    • 19 July: Received four text notifications “USCIS: Your case was received.”
    • 20 July: Both Money Orders cashed
    • 22 July: Received four I-797c IOE Receipt Notices in the mail (two I-485s / two I-131s for both parents). Processing Center is National Benefits Center (at least according to the envelope).
    • Priority Date: 10 June 2021. It took me a whole month to find the motivation to compile and assemble both packets after submitting my I-130 Petitions online. I’m a Millenial. I prefer to submit these packets ONLINE. 😂 But, I am forever grateful to the existence of this VJ site and the panel of experts, who took the time to answer my questions whenever I started overthinking the verbiage on these forms. Shoutout to @Chancy and @arken for inadvertently always coming through when I needed it, and who evidently takes the time to help a lot of us hapless folks on here, along with the other experts and experienced folks. You’re the real MVP!

    …and now we wait. 🤞🏼✌

Good luck fellow July filers! ♥️
