No, the I-129F is included and the goal is six months. The goal for the I-129, which is the one that you are referring to, is two months, or two weeks if premium. Regardless, this will have virtually no effect for March 2021 filers.

While true that they are going to focus on speeding up employment-based processing, they are also looking
to reduce the backlog for other forms to six months, the I-129F included.
  3. Thanks

    Thanks for your response!

I am essentially going to do all of the work as well since he has a similar issue as your fiancée with only having his phone. I have access to his email address, so no need to create an account for both since I can check his anyway if necessary.

Since the beneficiary is technically supposed to complete the DS-160, I assume there won’t be an issue if I create the account with his email address even if NVC doesn’t have it on file? I submitted an inquiry to them to add his, but they have not responded due to the delays and I assume it wouldn’t make a difference now that it’s at the embassy. I am not sure how it would appear from their perspective if I also create the account with my email address.

Also, I looked at the sample DS-160 form on the DOS website and they have a section where it asks if they were assisted in completing the form. I assume that it would be okay to indicate yes and include my (petitioner’s) information? Not sure what anyone else has done if they, as petitioners, have been the ones completing the form on the beneficiary’s behalf for one reason or another.

Thank you, and contacting the consulate is what I already did, but they said they don’t issue it there and he needs to either go to Costa Rica, or have someone there to pick it up. He cannot go and he does not have anyone there, unfortunately.

Yes, you can track it using the immigrant visa application status tool. When NVC sends to your embassy, the status will change from “at NVC” to “in transit”.

Yeah, honestly I'm just hoping to god these are the actual tracking numbers for both of us but I can't see why they wouldn't be but as you say, who knows anymore haha :')

And that's weird that not everyone can see this information, but yeah it's all good, no problem at all

Hi, all. I know that seeing this can be very disheartening and you may feel very upset, but please try to not feel this way! I felt very upset when this happened at the end of January, but then I realized that this is likely done so that they can catch up and avoid having so many people calling and submitting inquiries, which uses up more of their already limited resources. Please remember that through that time, they continued working on March cases even though their website said February - just that they were likely not getting as clogged by inquiries. After the retrogression at the end of January, my petition was approved within a week. Try to remain positive even though I know how difficult it is.

I'm in an occupation (military) where leaders are relieved of manageral duty for gross incompetence. Sadly, the vast majority of federal employees, especially management, can be grossly incompetent and keep their job. They would have to physically assault someone or embezzle tens of thousands of dollars to lose their jobs. There is no nexus (link) between COVID and the inefficiencies  of USCIS. USCIS employees are processing applications in private offices or at their private residencies. There not restaurant servers or retail clerks frequently interacting with customers!

I believe one of the most effective things we could do to change USCIS would be to get a national online petition to get the current USCIS director Ur Mendoza Jaddou relieved of her position. A short time ago, several Soldiers stationed at Fort Hood were physically and sexually assaulted, murdered, etc. The US Army didn't fire Privates for the toxic environment. But rather, relieved Generals and Colonels at the installation from their command positions because upper leaders ultimately dictate the culture/climate/effectiveness of an organization. When USCIS upper management realize they can lose their jobs, USCIS will magically become more effecient.

My case had been outside of normal processing times since October and I submitted the request for their assistance in early January. They are supposed to respond to congressional inquiries within 30 days.

Honestly, at this point what I would recommend is that as soon as you see your date come back up, submit an inquiry if you’d like, but also reach out to your congressman/woman and/or senator(s). I did not believe that this would help, so I held off on doing so. At the encouragement of others, I finally did. At nearly the 30-day mark (and the Monday after the estimated processing timeframe retrogressed to February), I received a forwarded email from my congressman’s office that included this verbiage from USCIS:

Your constituent’s case is pending review with an adjudications officer. Due to the COVID-19 measures, all officers are working from home, we are unable to determine at this time how long the review process will take. (the reviewing officer has been informed of this inquiry)

The bit in the parentheses made me roll my eyes, because I did not think that it would make a difference, but it just so happens that my petition was approved the day after they replied to my congressman’s office’s inquiry. I would push for any and all available avenues. Not to mention that in addition to submitting inquiries (myself and then would call USCIS and the agent would also submit one on my behalf), I also called every week, and I asked to speak with a T2 agent as well. Some people will claim that doing this will delay your case, but honestly, I feel that this helped me get my case finally approved. Otherwise, I would still be waiting in my group, which has not seen any movement in at least a week.

I think that the issue is that the assistance tool on the VJ timeline to help find the date shows the notice date as the “NOA1” date, when we all know that the actual NOA1 date is the received date. I think there are several erroneous timelines providing the incorrect dates.

She said that she was informed that the officer who reviewed/approved her case did not sign off on some areas and didn’t apply a required stamp or something to that extent. Basically, it was a USCIS error that they need to correct and now that is causing additional delays for her.

Before she found this out, she had two different approval dates. Not sure how or why, though.
