Hi all just wanted to post I made it to the USA with my husband no issues. Went via Yyz now waiting for the funeral then flying back home. Airport was empty for check in. 0 wait and I got there 3 hrs before my flight. Now waiting for IL would be awesome if I by some magic my husband and I get our Il before I flew home lol.

Stats are out for July.... looks like they are spreading out interview slot almost equally threw all family based visas. Now we wait a few weeks for Il posted in sept maybe we will get bumped up again or they will keep the same pace as they are now.

Oh perfect ! I been running around trying to get all my records and everything done before I get my IL 

It’s all digital now. It’s 100% faster then ink as well. 

Alright, we finally made it back home. My wife’s visa was approved. 
 
She went in at 9:30 am convinced it was going to be over in less than an hour. She actually spent 2 hours inside the consulate. I thought it was a negative sign since I was waiting outside for her. It was all due to the number of people being interviewed on that day, plus the very limited staff at the consulate. So if you go with your spouse, don’t panic if it’s taking more than one hour.
 
Same thing other VJ members have said. The original documents are requested at the beginning (birth certificate, marriage certificate, police certificate, passport, and pictures for visa) she was asked basic questions such as:
 
-what is the name of the petitioner?
-where does the petitioner live?
-when did you get married?
-How did you meet?
-whats is your spouse’s phone number?
 
The only extra document she was asked for was the I-864 which, luckily, we had already printed. It’s always good to get copies for the interview just in case. After confirming some other details, the interviewer told my wife he intended to approve her visa. 
 
We are thankful for the community here, and the advice we have received. It certainly helped us navigate this immigration process in the middle of a pandemic.
 
One last thing, bring something to read since it is a long wait. Unfortunately, my wife brought a crossword magazine, but she forgot her pen so you can imagine how anxious she was lol. 
 
 
 

I don’t think London has as many dq as Canada as well. With us sharing a boarder like we do it’s easier for us to meet our spouses. I also think London May have been part of the lawsuit as well. I know a bunch of country’s they stopped visas bc of the travel ban. All in all we will just have to wait and see what happens for the next 2 months if dqs. Seeing nov has really grown much on out google doc is a good sign.

I am now officially a LRP of the USA. I came early to the customs at the Calgary airport. 3 hours before my flight was scheduled to leave. I told the agent I was activating my IR1 visa, he asked me if I had the packet with me, I said I was told everything was electronic.  He said oh yea, I forgot. He asked me for my passport, open to the Visa page, verified the address I will be living at and contact phone number. Gave me back my passport and said welcome to the USA. It took 5 min. I asked if I needed to go to secondary,  he said nope he was able to activate the visa in primary. He didn't ask for my covid test, didn't ask for my cats vet certificate, or how much money I was bringing over, or any of my belongings.  
Whats really funny is this is the same guy who took a power trip on me last time through Calgary and I missed my flight...lol.
Anyway,  very smooth entry through Customs!
 

I just wish nvc had data on how many Dq per country were done that would deff help out and give us a better picture. All we can do now is wait till the next batch of letters. I have a feeling it will be another 2 week only batch till we get threw to nov. fingers crossed things speed up just a little. 

2020 also had the big i130 shift as well. Cases from Cali and Nebraska got sent to all the faster areas. I’m guessing this is why we are seeing a big jump in cases. Now I’m not 100% on this I’m just speculating but when the covid visa ban came into play I think they may have looked less at other visas and just focused on family based. All we can do now was wait and pray they hire more staff. I’m sure the current staff is prob thinking the same thing lol. I’m due time we all will be walking out of consulate trying to hold back the tears and the happy dance. I’m sure the ppl in line waiting to get it will understand when u are skipping out the door.

Lol we should have a 5year visa journey reunion on here post updates on our new life’s in the USA lol. Only says that bc we all have struggled together for over a year and I’m sure I won’t be the only one wondering how everyone is doing. 
I went by my letter date that said feb 2 when I went online and checked it was really Jan 28. 

Looking at the IL this month and how they stopped half way threw the 20th tells me they only have x amount of spots and are running at full possible speed. They did change the order a bit to add other classes in tier 2. None the less still heart breaking. London was already doing 2021 dates last month. As for Mexico well some classes have been waiting since 1997. From what I can tell Dq tripled since covid hit. I know a bunch of i130 were shuffled around and caused a bunch to speed up that could also have been what let to more ppl being Dq then normal. As we only see a little bit of the ppl who are Dq each month there could be a lot of ppl who where Dq before rescheduling now that covid cases are lower. Sadly Montreal doesn’t explain everything. I wish they were open and just told us hey guys we are short staffed or what not. 
Sadly each month I have to wait lowers me and my husbands chances of ever having children and we just found out my husbands insurance covers 90% of fertility.
