I-131 Advanced Parole approved today! Just got a notification from Case Tracker saying it was approved! Not sure if it was because of an expedite or if it was just normal processing. Hope this means everyone will get theirs soon as well!🥳

I've not heard that.  I updated my W4 as soon as we were married.
 
I don't know if it's faster but I would not go that route until you're sure the SSN is not obtainable right way (because of an expired i-94).
 
No, I don't believe they are connected or dependent on each other

For what it is worth, I had my appointment and applied on my 18th day after entry, and my SSN arrived on the 71st day after entry. Given that they won’t issue within two weeks of the I94 expiry (day 76), it is safe to say they are perfectly happy to cut it fine. As I said before, hopefully you’ll be fine since you applied in good time.

Happy to report we were approved earlier today at Mumbai India consulate 🙂 They kept her passport and told her they'll be sending the passport with approved visa in the mail (we opted for delivery vs pick up there). They were pretty thorough questioning though, on the photos she took with her, the officer asked to identify folks in the group photos. But my fiancée told me the overall attitude was quite ok and comfortable. She carried about 25 or so pics with her and showed when asked - some from engagement and some from other trips. We didn't compile any whatsapp chats/video call history though since it was too cumbersome and not very clean and we speak in a different language than English. Our case is pretty solid though I think and I've met her 4 times in India last year and accompanied her for the interview. Although I wasn't allowed to come in, they asked her if I was there.

I GOT APPROVED!!!! NOA1 was January 4, 2021 and more than one year later an approval!!!  so grateful.
 
I did contact senator and then yesterday ombudsman.  Coincidence?  who knows.  I'm just thrilled!!!  Now I have to get up to speed on next steps.

I see. When I was checking there were plenty of appointments available, but had to go back in a few times to select something further out since other things need to line up PCC Medicals etc. FYI if it matters, I didn't wait until it's ready at NVC, we started ds 160 once we got the NVC number and paid the DS 160 fee a week later. That way you can check interview appts even if you don't book yet.

From what I understood from earlier searches etc it's the final status I believe next step being the embassy will send a packet of docs to the beneficiary. I don't quite understand myself but happy nonetheless.
