tree248 got a reaction from OldUser in GC holder left USA after divorce. Will I be allowed back in?
Get a State ID card when you come back. You can have one at the same time as a learner's permit in Michigan.  When we got one in our family before conditional Green Card expired in Michigan, it was for the normal term of 4 years. Learner's Permits are only 6 months in Michigan.

Note that two inactivated virus vaccines available in the Philippines are on the CDC acceptable list. These vaccines do not have the technology that has caused many of the concerns about the vaccines available in the US, and are more traditional vaccines. Do your research and/or talk to a doctor about this, and consider getting one of these prior to the medical exam.

Coronavac and Covaxin are on the CDC list through their WHO approval and are also approved for use in the Philippines.

If you are all living together outside the United States when you hit all of the two year marks, could you alternatively apply for Citizenship directly through the N600-K process? At the end of that process, your child would be a citizen, and at any point after that you could all move back to the US whenever desired as Citizens?

Another resource for us was our local County Health Department. We went there to get a needed shot, and provided the immunization sheet from the medical exam to enter the US on a K-2 visa (and if we had one we would have provided the baby book and a translation, if needed). The Local Health Department put all of the immunizations into the state vaccination database.

tree248 got a reaction from ToBeHappy in Traveling as Dual citizen
There was a Supreme Court case about dual citizenship that was issued. There is some instruction on what to do when entering and leaving Ghana as well. https://thehague.mfa.gov.gh/ghana-government-directive-on-dual-nationality-and-application-for-dual-citizenship-cards-and-certificates

The Supreme Court ruled that the dual citizenship card is not mandatory, even if the executive branch had given instructions that it was. The directive above also points out the much more immediate problem for Ghanaians in countries that do not allow for dual citizenship, such as the Netherlands, where the dual citizenship card is more necessary, or the individual must apply for a visa to visit Ghana once their Ghanaian passport expires, as they could be putting their new citizenship at risk by applying for a new passport for Ghana. In that case, the dual citizen card is a life-saver (and money saver). For US/Ghana dual citizens, this is not an issue, and not letting either passport expire is a good goal.

If you can get all the paperwork together by August 28th, you should immediately try to get an appointment for the Counsular Outreach being held in Southfield on that date by the Chicago Consulate. http://chicagopcg.com/michigan outreach 2021.pdf?fbclid=IwAR2C3u-f9IkWdBFF5B4aAEUWoACYsn4tCk5Zl40QDwZi9V2hp8ccgmtryxY

It was just announced today, and they have limited slots. It is for Michigan residents only, and they are doing passport renewals and dual citizen application services only.....
