Hi all! Wanted to pop on here and share that my fiance just entered the US I wanted to thank @Greenbaum and for all the guides that he has put together. Also of course all of you. It has been a difficult journey to this point, and the moral support was much needed

We're March 31 NOA2, so I'll post this in both the March and April threads. I called and got our case # and invoice # today.

NVC Received: I forgot to ask. Is there a way to know?
NVC Case Number: April 28, 2021
 
The backlog in Montreal seems to be about 9 months now, so we're in for a wait.

Here's hoping Montreal works through the backlog quickly.

I saw 2 italians who get their interviews in May and their No2 were April and May 2020 of course  the time depends on the country and how crowded it is

I just called and got my case number and invoice number also, thanks! Received it on Apr 14.
 
Does NVC send a formal acknowledgment in the mail or email at all? 

Ours NOA2 is March 9th and we are still waiting.

Odds are that they won't really question it. See Matter of Battista and Matter of Cavazos.
It's the I-485 receipt that proves your period of stay authorized by the Secretary of Homeland Security.
 
 
 
 
Since you are currently outside of the US you cannot intend to adjust status from tourist status; i.e. must be completely honest at POE and will subsequently be denied entry per INA 212(a)(7)(A)(i)(I) and INA 214(b).
 
Do note that the US restrictions are only for land entry and ferry travel. Thus you can still genuinely visit the US via flight: https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2021/03/19/2021-05878/notification-of-temporary-travel-restrictions-applicable-to-land-ports-of-entry-and-ferries-service "this Notification does not apply to air, freight rail, or sea travel between the United States and Canada, but does apply to passenger rail, passenger ferry travel, and pleasure boat travel between the United States and Canada." How can we check if our case is received by NVC?

Welcome, As i see NOA2 date your case is going too fast and you are lucky enough because most of us filed our case April,may,june,july,Aug.

Finally approved today, after a RFE on Feb 4th. Phew that was stressful. Anyone from Canada here? Do we need RCMP police checks or city police?

Oh man, fellow June 2020ers!!! Finally after a year of trying to get the fiancé to visit, rescheduling tickets six times from cancellations, he’s been here in the United States for almost a month on a B2 visa. Struggling with deciding to continue down the K1 path or just to marry and adjust status from here. I know things are largely getting better in many places with the pandemic, or at least normalizing, but going another year just seems so hard to do.  I guess just venting to the only group that would largely understand

@XenophiliusPDX if it was me I’d marry my fiancé in a heartbeat and kick k1 visa out. 

I updated my email a few days after i received my NOA2 if that helps. I still haven't received a reply yet but i want to be notified once it arrives. I plan on calling the NVC to get my case number when I've been approved at least 30 days or so

Before getting married, we asked 2 immigration lawyers for their blessing. Hahaha, so the next day.. We went to court and signed the papers. Yahoooo!

I take back what I said earlier, if it’s unavailable, then there’s no way you can obtain it. It says so on travel.state.gov reciprocity schedule when you click on India. 

early June filers are starting to receive their NVC case numbers! If you haven't done so already, you can call NVC to get your case number
