Congrats to everyone that passed the interview!

Can someone explain what the process is after the interview?

How do we know whether or not the oath is on the same day?

Any other forms we need to submit afterwards?

Well there are two possible scenarios,

    1. After passing the test, the officer will give you a sheet indicating that you passed and your application will be recommended to be adjudicated,  some officers take the oath there in their office and they give you your certificate in 20 minutes or The officer will tell you to come back a few hours later to take the oath with more people.

    2. They will thank you for going to your interview but unfortunately they cannot make a decision on your case or simply do not take the oath that day and they will send you a new letter to attend your ceremony in the coming weeks.

  2. Hello guys,

I did have my interview this morning in Nashville TN, I get there by 11:00 am and check in, after that, Apparently it was lunch time and no one did anything, I was the only person sitting in the waiting room for more than 58 minutes.I just wait and wait and wait until the OI called my ticket number at 12:02 pm. I try to be friendly by saying hello and ask him how he was, his answer was direct and dry (good), there was no further communication between us and we only went to his office.

I didn't have time to place my backpack on the chair or the OI to close the door when he was immediately asked me to raise my right hand and swore to tell the truth. He immediately asked for my passport, green card and driver's license, my name, date of birth, SSN and address, in just 25 seconds he started asking me 6 questions directly, which I don't even remember because he did everything so fast and we jump to read a sentence on the tablet and write another sentence that he dictated (Alaska is the largest state) From my application he only asked me about my trips outside the United States, if I have ever been arrested, how many times had I been married and questions from 45 to 50, the ones that everyone answered yes. He asks me to verify my information on the tablet and sign twice, he printed a sheet indicating that I passed the test and wrote 2:00 pm at the top, He only told me that I had to return in 1 hour and 45 minutes for the ceremony and he took me out of his office giving me instructions on how to find the exit. 12:10 pm I was in my car without understanding what happened or how, was in shock. I re-entered the building 1:45 pm and 30 minutes later I was already a citizen.

    that was it, lol.

I just have one question, how should I sign my certificate with my full name or my signature?

I wish the best to all of you who are still waiting for their cases to be processed.

I received the letter immediately. Not sure if there is a way for you to follow up. I had to reschedule my appointment and after that it took 3-4 weeks for them to reschedule and send the letter. I'm in Nashville area though so I'm not sure if it's less busy than where you are.

Wow 😮 finally someone in Nashville, I’m too.I thought I was not going to find anyone in the same boat as me.

We had the exact same experience!

Filed our I-751 on Nov. 3, 2020, and it was sent to the YSC. I then filed my N-400 online exactly a year later on Nov. 2, 2021. I got a letter dated Dec. 14, 2021, saying that our I-751 was transferred to the NBC to "speed up processing." No updates ever since, and I am not sure what this means. I guess that, since we both filed our N-400 recently, it might have something to do with it.

I did not send a copy of our I-751 receipt with the N-400. The online form simply didn't ask for a receipt of it, just for pictures of my green card. It didn't occur to me to send a copy of the I-751 NOA until a few days later, but it was too late. However, can't they see in the system that one has a pending I-751???

Finally, this is not true, and I'm from South America, not some fancy European country. I worked as a primary care physician there in our universal health care system for years. Appointments with me were often same- or next-day. The most someone would wait was 5 days, or they could choose another doctor in our practice who had sooner availability. Appointments with specialists were a few weeks or months out, depending on my judgement of the urgency of their condition. Same for elective procedures. All of that with an awful and corrupt government bureaucracy; I think America could do better. However, this is beside the topic of this forum.

USCIS can see everything using only your A### ### ### number so don’t worry 😉.

It is always good to add your receipt so that they can see that you are aware of both cases and that you expect a response soon.

The fact that uscis has transferred your case is a good sign that they are processing your N400 but in order to adjudicate this case they need to approve and close I-751.

Some news here, original office was YSC but it was transferred to NBC last week to "speed up processing". I filed 400 back in NOvember. Any idea what this means?

If the notice had said they transferred 751 to NBC to schedule an interview it would be simple but I am confused if it means I'm approved for 751 or if I'll get a combo interview?

    Any thoughts from this group?

Hey, that means your case was transferred for 3  different reasons.

    1. YSC has a high number of pending cases and needs to transfer cases to NBC for faster processing.( this has nothing to do with your N-400)

    2. YSC They consider that you do not have the necessary evidence to adjudicate your case and require another interview.  NBC is the only office that can process cases for interviews.  In some cases, the officer at NBC looks at your case again and considers that the interview is not necessary, you only need more evidence or they simply approve it.  in the worst case they schedule the interview. (Again this has nothing to do with you N-400)

    3. NBC received your N-400 and you sent a copy of your I-751 receipt, the officer who is reviewing your application realizes that your case is still pending but since you added new evidence that you are still married to the citizen, the officer requested your packet to YSC to then process both applications.  here 2 things can happen.
    (1) The officer receives your I-751 along with the notes of  last officer who reviewed your case, based on those notes and the new evidence you sent in your N-400, the officer can approve your I-751 and continue to process your N-400 . OR

    (2) If the officer agrees with the notes, 2 things can happen.

(2.1) schedule an interview for your I-751 only.

(2.2) schedule an interview for you N-400 and I-751.
In both cases your spouse will have to go with you to the interview Unless your I-751 is approved You will only have to take the citizenship test.
all cases are different and unique.  For example, I applied on Nov 2 2020 I-751 the office that processed my case was SRC and they did not approve my until Oct 25 2021 almost a year later, No RFE, no interview.
During a whole year I saw how other people were being processed and approved by the same office.
Why did my case take longer?  who knows.

Now with my N-400 it's the same again, I'm seeing people receive their appointment for their citizenship test at 3 or 4 weeks after applying and I'm here waiting lol 😂
my advice is continue with your life do not stress that soon you will have a positive response to your case.

Hi, what documents did you submit online?

    Hey,

Copy of your green card on both sides.

    Copy of tax 2018, 2019 and 2020.

    Marriage certificate.
    My husband birth certificate.

Copy of our driver's licenses on both sides.

Copy of all documents under our name, property titles, home and car insurance,

    life health dental insurance, 401k,

    bank statements and credit cards.
absolutely everything that was under our name for the past 4 years including photographs and reservations of flights with hotel.

In my particular case I am a man and I’m 25 years old when I became a permanent resident in 2019 I have to registered in the Selective Service so I add a copy of my registration.

    That was all I sent.

You are lucky, mine changed from 15 to 13 after fingerprints, then to 18 months the following morning for what reason.... I don't know?

Edit: Spoke too soon, back to 13 months after just checking now. Still, 7 months would be better! Perhaps it varies on location....

Based on my research, all cases are processed at the NBC office, but the estimated time is based on your local office.
For example, I live in Tennessee and here there are 2 local offices Nashville and Memphis, my zip code is 25 minutes from the Nashville office.

After NBC receives and processes my application, my package will be transferred to the local office closest to my address.

That's when that office will schedule the final interview as they have availability.

For that reason the times are very variable for each person.

I don't pay much attention to these times because each case is different.

This is my third round with immigration, the first was my adjustment of status estimated processing time was 14 months and it only took exactly 10 months.

The second was to remove the conditions of my residence, estimated time 9.5 months, it took exactly 11 months, I just received my 10 year green card October 30,2021 just in time to start my citizenship processes,

and now I have started a new wonderful and stressful adventure, but as in all the previous processes, the secret is to have patience and faith.
I believe that USCIS is doing the best they can to process our cases in the best way, let's not lose our minds and give them time to do their job.

When we least expect it, our cases will be over and we will continue to build a better country and world for our future generations.

    :);):)

  8. Hey guys,

I apply on November 2, 2021 based on 3 years of permanent resident and marriage to a US citizen. I decided to apply online and it was the easiest experience of my life. After making my payment my receipt number appears IOE estimated time 15 months, 30 minutes later my fingerprints were reused and estimated time changed to 11 months. The next morning my case changed to case is being actively reviewed by USCIS, estimated time changed to 7 months. On Saturday November 6 I received 2 letters in my mail, my receipt #  and fingerprints reused.

    Good luck to all :)

Heyy. Hope all is good. Just an update from our end. Still no progress. We sent 2 requests for outside processing time but both says that we cannot provide any time frame. Src is approving March and April so we are not sure why there is still SRC filers from November like us. Did anything happen to your case? Also we are thinking about applying for N400. Did you follow any guide when you were preparing or what should we look for when applying next month?

Hey 👋🏻, When I answered your post on Monday I never thought to checking the status of my case, I already lost the faith and something completely crazy happens.

just before submitting my N400 application I thought about checking the status of my case just out of curiosity and I found this.

Now I will wait a few days to receive my green card before sending my application.

Hello, unfortunately there has been no change :(, my case is exactly the same.
My N400 application is ready to be sent on Friday. The  application is very simple to do,

and the evidence is practically the same as the I-751, you need to send evidence of the last 3 years of marriage and proof that your spouse  is a citizen. copy of your green card on both sides and a copy of your receipt (the 18-month extension)
    The payment of $725.
You need all the trips you did outside the USA when you left and when you re-entered.

if you or your spouse have been divorced or any criminal record,
is a combination of questions between forms I-751 and I-130, if you have a copy in your record just go back and enter the same information. If you need more information for your specific case just go to the official USCIS website they have a lot of information.
I made a consultation with a lawyer just to avoid any inconvenience, she said the best thing in my case is to apply for citizenship since my case is very delayed.
Let me know if there is any change in your case or if you need help with your application :).

I hope they will approve our cases soon.

  11. Hey guys!
I had to hire a lawyer to make my N-400 application because I started the process, removal of condition (I-751) (my office service is Texas SRC) back on October 30, 2020. As of today there has been no change in my case after reusing my fingerprints on January 22, 2021. My spouse and I decided that we are not going to wait any longer and we prefer to do a combo interview, so my application will be made on October 29, 2021.
Good luck to all,  I hope this process is faster and easier than the other.

Hey. We keep checking with y'all because we do not know anybody else from SRC that still did not get approved yet except us

Any progress or updates on your application or you are still preparing for the n400 ?

Hi, Theres is no changes at all. on August 24 I sent a new request outside normal processing time, supposedly I have to receive an answer September 15 (we see). The N400 Form is ready with all my evidence I'm just waiting to apply in OCT 30 2021. I have talked with some people about the waiting time, but in general we are all waiting more than usual. my last update was Jan 22 2021 my fingerprints relating.

If there is any change in the next few days I will let you know, and please let me know if there is a change in yours.

Hey. So we still did not receive any letter about the request for outside of processing but we did call and they said the exact same that you sent above. Did you have any progress yet or what do you think next steps should be?

    Hello,

NOTHING YET :(, everything is exactly the same. Yesterday I started to read the N-400 form for citizenship and investigate the necessary documents for the application. I made a consultation with a lawyer friend of my husband and she recommended that we apply as soon as my window of time opens which would be 10/30/2. I still have 3 months left, but I have faith that it will be approved before that time,

If not, then I will continue with my citizenship process and I wait to have the 2 interviews at the same time.

Today I check the timeline and switch back to 4.5 to 7.5 months.

Same thing in here. No news after the fingerprints and we are in SRC also. Our e request date is July 16 so waiting for that before we call. Please let us know if you notice any change the next few days and we will do also.
