    Currently they are Syrian

I do not know what happens if they acquire German citizenship we often see Iranians who acquire another and they stay Iranian as well.

Prior refusal will need to be declared and Syrian connection will never help.

I think out of all ideas, this is the one that's actually worth investing time and money in.

I doubt they'll get US tourist visas otherwise.

I agree Syrian trying to get a B is a long shot, obviously they have German residence which helps.

Presumably the limited validity for Syrians is die to reciprocity, I have not looked.

VWP, well even if they obtain German citizenship:

Visa Waiver Program Improvement and Terrorist Travel Prevention Act of 2015
Under the Visa Waiver Program Improvement and Terrorist Travel Prevention Act of 2015, travelers in the following categories must obtain a visa prior to traveling to the United States as they are no longer eligible to travel under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP):
Nationals of VWP countries who have traveled to or been present in Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, or Yemen on or after March 1, 2011 (with limited exceptions for travel for diplomatic or military purposes in the service of a VWP country).
Nationals of VWP countries who have traveled to or been present in Cuba on or after January 12, 2021 (with limited exceptions for travel for diplomatic or military purposes in the service of a VWP country).
Nationals of VWP countries who are also nationals of Cuba, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Iran, Iraq, Sudan, or Syria.

Log a USCIS request for "Out of Normal Processing Time" -- https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayONPTForm.do?entryPoint=init&sroPageType=onpt

Also, call the USCIS hotline, say "InfoPass", ask the agent for an InfoPass appointment, attend the appointment to get an ADIT stamp.  Bring the I-90 receipt notice and/or extension letter.

I got a bank check issued by my German bank in US dollars drawn on a US bank. Call or mail your bank, ask to get in contact with their department of foreign affairs ('Auslandsabteilung'). It'll then be an 'Auslandsüberweisung' with the 'Ausführungsart Scheckziehung'. Will take about 1-2 weeks for them to get it to you.

A random person at the counter won't know what you want.

Or just get a US cashiers check mailed to you from any US person you know.

Our I-130 was officially approved today via e-mail, 14 days after Frankfurt received it!

We didn't receive an NOA1 nor a receipt, so we asked 5 days ago via e-mail whether we would receive that. The Frankfurt Consulate answered within 5 minutes(!). The case had just been approved that day and we would receive official notice soon with further instructions -- that came in today via e-mail.

The 'further instructions' (equivalent to Packet 3 at the NVC) specifically for Frankfurt DCF can be found at https://de.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/iv-application-instructions/. So do check that out, you could get some of those documents already now.

On to the next step! The I-864 is going to be interesting as we'll qualify based on the beneficiary's assets. We don't have current U.S. income, nor joint sponsors, nor any IRS paperwork...

It is, but it is frustrating to read your responses, which appear to indicate that you are not comprehending what others are telling you, or even making an effort to understand it.  If you are struggling with the information, you may be one of the few who would benefit from an immigration attorney, vs DIY.

This process requires that you educate yourself.  People here will help, but they won't sugar-coat or spoon-feed you.

Attention to detail is required if you want to navigate the immigration process on your own. You will run into bigger problems than reading a chart, so please take some time and effort if you want to succeed.

You were asking me in PM about DCF Frankfurt and income requirements. In most DCF cases your income is likely to be zero, as only current U.S. income is valid unless you are transferring within the same company. A future U.S. job offer is not valid. Foreign income is not valid.

The only way to fulfill I-864 requirements without a US sponsor is to use assets. As the immigrant, you can use worldwide assets and need ~110k which is 5x 125% the poverty limit. If you are the sponsor of a spouse, you only need 3x, but guidelines also don't specify whether you can use foreign assets. Either way its entirely at the discretion of the consular officer.

    1. That’s all you need to be approved for DCF
    2. They won’t be contacted as far as I know
    3. The green card is not dependent on you holding a job, once you’re both in the US you’re good.

Note: For I-864, if you don’t have a joint sponsor in the US, you will need to show >65k of assets or your husband will need to show >110k (you two can combine your assets too). Your job offer in the future does not count as current income. Foreign income also does not count.

Please fill in a timeline and it might be best to start your own thread with your own sequence of questions.   Most of what you are asking about isn't even relevant if you haven't even submitted an initial request to the consulate.

The petitioner and beneficiary both live in Germany right now?

My visa was also issued today, taking 10 weeks from start-to-finish!

First, about the interview at the Frankfurt Consulate: Come early, about 45 min before your appointment. Leave all electronics in your car. First queue at the entrance to the left to get a waiting number. Then queue at the security guard to the right to confirm that you don't have any electronics. Then queue at the security check entrance. Once you're inside queue for the cashiers' booth 22. You'll pay 325USD (or 277EUR on that day -- which was 5EUR more than the exchange rate), also they don't take EC/Giro cards!

After that you'll be called upon twice, either by number OR by name, so don't rely on the monitors, it might happen that your number isn't shown! First time is basic personal information check, if address is current etc. Second time is the interview with the consular officer. You'll first be sworn in, then you'll be asked questions depending on your case. All in the all, the entire process from entering the Consulate to leaving took about 90 minutes.

On CEAC (https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=IV), your status will be 'REFUSED' and stay so, even after the interview. Don't be alarmed, this is standard. Once your medical comes in, it will move into 'ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING'. A few hours later it will be 'ISSUED'.

Thanks for the journey everyone, see you in 2 years for removing conditions on the CR1. Congrats to everyone else who also got theirs!
