For people still waiting for the NOA1, I sent mine on July 8th (arrived at lockbox noon on July 9th) and I received a text notification on July 17. It seems like the wait time is around a week to eleven days
-
Thank you all! We sent off the petition yesterday, so now we wait!

@RainyJupiter
I did just print extra copies of Part 8, but I didn't sign them since there was no space and it specifically said not to write outside the boxes. I wonder if the signature was solely for if you used a separate sheet...I mailed today, so hopefully there are no issues

I’m using the Part 8 section from the form since my information is pretty concise. I have two extra pages. Where do I sign & date these pages? There’s no box or space for it although the instructions say to do so.

Thank you so much! It’s hard not to worry given some of the horror stories, but that makes me feel much better. (Although my photo is less than stellar xD)

Thanks for the tip! I snapped a picture of my photo using my phone from far away for this post, so I'm not surprised it's blurry. I was mostly just worried about the conflicting views I've heard about the ears being more important for visa purposes than passports. Also the efinition of "off-white" since the photo printed must darker. I'm probably just overthinking it.

Hi all!
I've read many things about submitting passport style photos for the I-129f petition. I've already spent over $20 trying to get them done at the local CVS (although they didn't seem too experienced.) There are a couple things I was worried about and I've heard conflicting views...
White vs. Off-White Background
My fiance has an off white background that looks kinda beige when I picked them up...I retouched the background and I just wanted to know if this was the safer option? (I need to get them redone with a glossy finish. Looks like they don't accept matte anymore)
Ears or No Ears
His ears are perfectly visible, my ears are not. I tried to tuck them behind my ears before the woman took the photo, but there is one that is not super visible. Do I need to get them redone again?
Too dark
My fiance took his by himself, and he has a large amount of stubble on his face. I just wanted to know if it looked too shadowy! I might be overthinking it, but it couldn't hurt to ask.

I was just wondering since it's technically a separate contract.

My British fiance has worked as a teacher for the same partnership over the last two years. However, he was originally hired as an Unqualified teacher following a stint with them as a TA. During that year, he was accepted into their training program and they made him an Associate Teacher. Should I fill out two separate entries for his two jobs, or one entry and list both positions since they are asking for the employer?
Thanks!

@carmel34 Thank you. That's a weight off my shoulders. Yes, I agree, and we've already verified that my mother is willing to be a joint sponsor

@JFH Thank you so much! I realized that the post was under the wrong subheading, but I wasn't sure how to move it!
@Greenbaum That makes so much sense! Thank you. I think I've managed to fix that. I wasn't completely sure about which office to choose in "Filing At" since I've seen mixed things about it, but I was told that everyone mails to the TX Lockbox, and then it gets sent to CSC.
@carmel34 The only potential weak spot with our relationship is probably the age gap. My fiance is five-and-a-half years older than me, and I'm still in my final years of college.
So, as far as I understand...I don't actually need to show that we've been communicating or involved romantically with one another? No calls, texts, messages between family members, gifts, nothing? The VJ guide certainly doesn't mention much about that, but I got mixed messages.

Really? Why do I see so much information about it then? It's all over the forums, and I got the impression that most people try to include as much information as possible? I've seen posts about a ridiculous 60+ screenshots of chats and such... I definitely have plenty of receipts, so that's reassuring!
Thank you for the timeline comment! @Jorgedig I didn't even notice that part

Hello again!
I'm working on compiling all of my information to prove that we have a bonafide relationship. However, I've run into some roadblocks....and I wanted some advice.
I was planning to go back through our skype and google hangout logs to show that we've talked to each other multiple hours a day for years. However, Skype deleted the first two years of our communication after it upgraded to the Windows 10 version. We chatted on Whatsapp during most of that time as well, so I have that at least. We transitioned to Google Hangouts for calls during 2017, and only moved over to Facebook late 2019. The unfortunate aspect of google hangouts is that it doesn't show you the length of the call, just that you had a call with said person and when the call ended. I tried downloading the data using Google Takeout to see if the duration would pop up there, but the download has no json file, so I've resorted to screenshotting the chats despite lack of call duration. I'm really hoping that we will have more luck with Facebook, but I'd love to hear what you all think!
I've taken records of our Whatsapp chats (mostly talking about daily life things, although it's difficult to find a conversation without a heart in it xD) with around three conversations per month for the last five years. Unfortunately, we've both gotten new phones, so we only have Whatsapp calls for the last two months too... I've heard that the I-129f is mostly about the in-person meeting and receipts, and we have a photo timeline and everything, so I'm trying not to worry.

Did I understand this correctly:
Everyone should mail their I-129F application to the Texas Service Center lockbox address regardless of where they reside? I’m Virginian, and my service center would be Vermont based on jurisdiction. I just thought I’d check since the original comment was Floridian. Thanks!

We were one of the lucky couples assigned to a proactive employee. I just checked the status, and it stated that it our application was approved yesterday on Feb 11. For reference, I mailed the form on July 8 and we received our NOA1 on July 16. Hopefully, it won't be too much longer for the rest of July applicants!
