  5. I don’t think that’s possible for K1s since they don’t deal with CEAC. I think they just gave a generic 221g form.
  6. Just because you don’t go beyond the 6 months usually given for visitors when entering the US and your family are legal immigrants, doesn’t mean that you can come and go frequently. This is seen as abusing the tourist visa and using it to essentially live in the US. If you have been visiting too often with too little time between visits and are also suspected of working (which is a fair assumption- if you have work then you can’t take off that much and working online in the US on a tourist visa isn’t allowed), this questioning isn’t surprising and was bound to happen. Yes, they can absolutely confiscate your phone, laptop, go through your belongings, etc. Asking tough questions is not harassment. Suggesting they could have touched you is extreme. Everything is recorded and there are other officers around. Sorry but you don’t have options here. You’re not a US citizen where you are guaranteed entry and can continue coming back and forth. Even US citizens and permanent residents get pulled into secondary and questioned. My husband who is a US citizen was questioned extensively after a long overseas visit (he spent 2 hours in there). Visiting is a privilege and you’re treating it as a right. It isn’t unfortunately. You’re fortunate they didn’t revoke your visa on the spot and send you back on the next flight out. I strongly advise you to leave when they told you to leave and not visit the US for a long time if you want to keep the privilege of possessing a tourist visa.
  7. 16 year zombie thread locked. Please don’t bump old threads.
  8. *** Thread moved from Bringing Family Members of US citizens to America forum (consular processing) to AOS work/tourist/student visas as this is an adjustment of status within US case ***
  9. *** Thread moved from Progress Reports to Process & Procedures ***
  10. Unfortunately it’s just continuing to wait. They do not contact you after every status change. They will only reach out if they need something like a document or if they need you to redo your medical etc.
  11. ***Threads on 221g/Admin processing merged. Please post any further questions or updates here only*** No it’s not the final decision. Refused is a normal part of AP.
  12. *** Thread moved to Work Visas forum ****
  13. Three threads on FOIA merged. Please keep all further questions or updates in this thread only. VJ Moderation
  14. I think it’s legitimate going off of this: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/LND-London.html
  15. I have read posts where applicants asked for passports back to travel. The consulate will request it when they’re ready to issue the visa. It might cause a small delay as opposed to if they already had it in possession.
  16. 7 hijack posts & replies removed. Please start your own thread if you have questions about your case. VJ Moderation
  17. You don’t need to work in the field to know. This has already happened to someone, also in the Philippines. Expunged arrest that wasn’t disclosed in the petition. The case was denied after the consulate ran a background check. They had to restart with a spousal visa. Here’s the thread:
  18. Another restarted thread on this topic removed and administrative action applied against OP’s account for failure to heed Moderator instructions.
  19. *** Thread moved from Progress Reports to Process & Procedures *** You're not eligible to file for naturalization. He needs to petition you for a spousal visa. Takes about 18-24 months.
  20. *** Thread moved from Progress Reports to Process & Procedures *** Typed on a computer is best. For signature, why would your fiancé (the beneficiary) sign? It’s only the petitioners signature that’s needed on I-129f.
  21. *** Thread moved from Progress Reports to Process & Procedures *** The chances of CBP not paroling you in as a K1 entrant is very low. You can try but just be aware and prepared that you have little control over that so if they admit you as a K1 (which is most likely) then that’s that.
  22. *** Thread moved from Progress Reports to Process & Procedures *** Did your fiancé live in Germany when you sent the petition? NVC automatically sends the petition to the country where beneficiary states they currently live in. They do not look at the field where you put the consulate you want to interview at. This has been known for many years now if you search the forum. If she didn’t live in Germany, then this was an error on NVC’s part but that’s more rare than the scenario above. It is on the petitioner and the applicant to reach out to NVC after 3-4 weeks of USCIS approval so find out the case number to track the progress. This is also written in the guides and next steps here. Now that the petition already left NVC and is now in Frankfurt, you need to contact the consulate in Lagos and ask them to request the file from Germany. Note that this will take several months to resolve, my guess would be a three month delay.
  23. Just get a new passport. There is no need at all to report it to US government or immigration. People lose/have them stolen/renew passports all the time so this isn’t an extraordinary case. I thought you were going to say that it was stolen with a K1 visa printed post interview in there but really, you should just get a new passport.
