It's nearing the 7th month from our NOA1 and still no NOA2. I'm starting to worry. Is this normal? USCIS states the pandemic didn't affect anything and the site says March 25 applicants can ask for a case inquiry.

How are you people holding up?

You know, I've seen you post this many times before but I can' help but think that if USCIS is giving us an estimate based on whatever their criteria is then they should be held accountable to that or else they should adjust their estimates appropriately. If within the halls of this agency their bosses or the employees aren't holding themselves accountable to what they have communicated then we the customers (citizens of this nation) do have the right to demand that deliver upon the expectations they have set for us/themselves.

Nothing will change if we accept the status quo. As you have put it, they have the gold but it is our gold that they have and without us they have none. I'm not saying let's start a revolution but if people don't speak up about their expectations not being met which are largely set by what USCIS provides then USCIS should just stop setting misguided expectations.

My recommendation as a better message is for people to reach out to their local representatives not about the status of their individual cases, but that they reach out to them about the inaccurate expectations that are being set. While USCIS may not ever be able to give us exact dates, they should be able to give use some kinds of guidelines similar to what is provided by VJ because of all organizations they have the most accurate data to do so. Make you elected officials work for "us" not just "you". The constitution starts off with "we the people" not "me the individual".

If a contractor you hired to do work on your house was off on their estimates like USCIS is, I'm pretty sure you would raise a stink about it. But what do I know, I'm just a paying customer hoping that my government can/will improve in some way.

I'll now yield the soapbox to someone else as I've had a hard day and a few hard beverages...

Even scarier; why so long? It's not fair and it's so stressing to see others filing same dates or earlier getting approved before you. I know it's gold holder is the winner, but still.

Well I'm on day 178 for my I-129 and I still haven't made it to NOA2 yet. I'll continue to wait on my approval, hopefully that will be soon. I have talk to tier operator and couple of times and have came of it. So in this case patience is a virtue.

Looking at your profile and the dates you are talking about we actually applied roughly at the same time! Few days apart actually if you
look at the California service center cases are generally processed within 4.2 months. However, with the coronavirus obviously we are in a limbo will they work faster or slower since most are working remotely. I would plan on early 2021 at best sadly

Pretty simple:  if someone with a receipt date prior to 10/30/19 has not received their approval, they are now within USCIS' inquiry period.  Yes, USCIS will have approved some from after that date, just like they will still be working on some from before that date.  It is not a linear process.

VJ data is self-reported and should be taken with a grain of salt.  Half of the profiles out there say "Armenia" and "Texas Service Center," so the dates could be equally mucked up.

Sorry if I came off brash. I guess it isn't that long, though I'm hoping to be in the States by late August or mid September, but it doesn't seem it'll happen which is understandable. We're expecting a child in November and I was hoping to have her give birth within the States. Oh well I guess. Crossing my fingers, hoping for a lucky fast process! Thanks everybody, I think I have a better understanding of the whole processing thing. Thread can be closed

Yes I petitioned for the K-1 visa. You guys are the best I really love this community so far.

I filed in April 10 and got my first NOA1 on April 13. What am I possibly looking at in your personal opinions? I'm in no rush, but I am excited to see my fiancee smile during our new life together within the States ❤️

On the USCIS website processing times, it shows "Receipt date for a case inquiry" October 30th, 2019 at the time of this post being made. However, on VisaJourney, I'm seeing people getting their NOA2 from NOA1's December 27th, 2019 and January 2020. How does that work? I'm confused because if the USCIS shows you can get a receipt inquiry from October 30th, that should make it where we'll get our NOA2 on October or September. My VisaJourney profile tells me it'll take around August 13-30, 2020.

Can somebody explain to me how this works? Does USCIS overshoot the estimates to make you not expect anything too s?
