    Hello Everyone,

Just an update on my end- Today (4/9/2025) was my Interview and it went smoothly. It had 2 sections basically- first part was the lifting of the I-751, Petition to remove conditions on Residence. This included the Interview of the USCIS officer with both of us. (myself and spouse) Took about 20-30 min in total, our appointment was at 6:45 am and basically I guess it took longer than needed. (The computer was acting up for the officer and they just decided to ask too much questions but mostly on the relationship and felt like a green card interview) questions like how many times we met in person, did we travel together, did we meet each others parents in person etc..

The second part was the N-400 Citizenship, where my spouse was asked to leave the room and wait in the lobby. Then the interview had 3 sections- Civic/History test (asked about 7 questions and stopped since I provided all right answers, then asked me to read out a sentence on the i-pad in front of me, followed by writing a sentence on the i-pad. Then the officer said- "Congratulations!!, you have passed the Citizenship test and you can do your oath ceremony today itself if you want to or come later for an another date". I said, Yes, will do it today itself and they gave me the papers.

I would say the whole Interview both sections took about 45min in total and then the wait for the Oath Ceremony conducting officer another 30min as they do it in batches. There were about 10 people in the batch, we all took the oath and were provided with our Citizenship certificates after the oath.

Good Luck to everyone waiting for their Interview dates and oath ceremony.!!

P.S- I already filled out the Form DS-11 (Passport Application) last week and made an appointment on same day, so applied for the US passport today as well. Recommend to do this if you have any travel plans coming up soon and if you are in a location that takes time to get an appointment for passport application. You have to give your original citizenship certificate along with the passport application but they will mail it back to you after processing the DS-11 application and is approved. I took 2-3 copies to provide one to your SSA office and your employer as well.

Congratulations!!!   Your interview was very similar to our combo interview a couple years ago in Irving.  My wife had to wait a few weeks (it was holiday season) for the oath ceremony in Plano, TX......there were 1,000 new citizens taking the oath that day in her ceremony...LOL.
  6. Thanks

My field office also showed over 6 months for processing times, but I got scheduled for interview in March. At the same time, processing time at my field office for I-751 was initially 7 months, but it ended up being 20.5 months.

    You just never know.

I hope everybody in December 2024 gets their interview soon.

I will definitely post more detailed update once interview and oath is over.

Yes I got interview, but I'm in the minority of lucky ones. As of right now, about 7500 December filers were scheduled for interview, and about 20000 are still waiting for interview date. There's also about 360 super lucky people who already naturalized. There's nothing to worry about. I was ready to wait for 6-8 months for the interview.

Have you checked processing times for your field office?

    https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

    They're different for every office.

US Citizenship Test 2025 app.  For real.  Just set it to ask you 50 questions and do them over and over until you score 96% or higher.  You can tell it to do less questions if you only have, say 10 minutes to work at it.  Worked a treat!

Congratulations! You should have applied to Global Entry which simplifies entry to the US when travelling internationally. It's slightly more expensive but already includes TSA Precheck in it.

You MUST use the expired Green Card along with the extension letter.  The extension letter is worthless without the expired card.

Nope. The only interview we've had in the entire process was at Montreal when the spousal visa was granted.

My lawyer told me to have them signed by those people and attach copies of their state ID / DL. To say it was ackward to ask is to say nothing. But friends were very keen on providing it, and my I-751 got approved.

Notarizing it may be easier / safer than asking for their IDs.

I definitely can, but I am not sure if it is going to be anything new. She did mention that they look at things you have together and obligations together. Like loans, car insurances, utility bills from random months, joint bank account statements and tax returns filed together, and kids birth certificates (if any).

No. USCIS will cancel the EAD and AP applications. May or may not appear cancelled on your case tracker
