Mine was sent on April 29, received May 3rd I believe.
I got my NOA1s via text this past Sunday! For reference.
-
Hello! My AOS was mailed April 30, but I think joining the May thread makes more sense.
Still waiting to hear back. Hopefully it'll all work out!
Good luck everyone

I received my passport yesterday, after 2 plus weeks after my interview. In Taiwan, that's considered a long wait.
My fiance had to write them an email and only then was my status changed to issued. I feel like they forgot about my case...
Anyway, I got my passport BUT my petitioner's name in the annotation part was misspelled.
So I guess I have to send it back and get it fixed. What a process!

Even a person on a work permit in the USA has to file US tax returns on the income as you would have to do this
so, tecnically , this is income earned in US and must be reported on tax returns which you and spouse will show for AOS
Best not to start your residence here by trying to skirt the rules /work is work and getting paid is earned money
Hi, can you explain how the US would ask you to report income if you made money from another country in another currency?
I've struggled with understanding how all this works, and no while I do not plan on continuing remote working in the US, I am very curious because it was something I wanted to do initially. Thank you!

On your timeline it says that you have not filed for AOS yet. If that is correct, then I think the warning about the delay with the green card is not applicable to you. That is because if you get a court ordered name middle change after marriage, but before sending in the AOS paperwork, then your new middle and last names will already be on there.
A court-ordered name change for an adult in King County can be completed in one day. Ours took longer because the judge had questions about the name change for my step-daughter, and we had to reschedule so there would be a court-provided interpreter for my wife.
yes, correct, I haven't actually gotten married yet so I was sort of planning and thinking ahead! Would that court order name change before AOS cost a lot? Thank you!

The hassle is not with the court. The hassle is sending in your green card to change your name. Paying the $455 fee plus the $85 biometric fee. You could be without a green card for a year. That's not a good situation to be in and that is why it's better to change your name when you naturalize.
ok in that case I might as well wait it out. thank you so much!
-
Thank you everyone! I'll take a look at the court order name change, and if it's too much of a hassle I'll just wait for naturalization.
I appreciate it!

Hello, I have a question about changing names after arriving in the US on K1.
So in my K1 petition I put my Chinese name only, but added my English name in the "other names used" section.
Would it be possible at all if I added my English name as my middle name in my marriage license/certificate and put that new name when I adjust status?
or would that become an issue when I adjust status, since I didn't have a middle name in my I-129f and ds160?
Thank you very much.

Happy to see all your cases moving forward! (I guess most of you? Not all...)
I have my interview scheduled for later this month, and I'm pretty terrified. Less so about the interview itself, but worried that they'll think some of my documents are incomplete, etc.
Anyway. good luck to you all and please remember to update your timelines!

Hi friendly people, I have a couple questions about the DS160.
1. In the DS160, it requires you to fill in education history. So I took a few grad school courses online from an American university a few years ago.
I believe I should put that in my education history, but since I was never IN the US for this, would it affect me when they review my DS160?
2. So before we filed for K1, I already had an ongoing sibling petition I130.
I just want to know if I have to "add another" in this section? Because the "purpose of trip to the US" is because of K1, not the I130.
Thanks!

We called NVC right after christmas to see if they had our case number, and they told us while they received our case, they were still working on it.
Today we got an email with our case number and an in transit to consulate notice.
Super excited. Would it be okay to fill out DS160 and pay the fee now?

Hello everyone,
My Fiancé and I have been following this thread for a while now but decided to post today hoping to get an informed opinion on what is happening to our case. Our NOA1 date is March 27, 2020 but we have not yet received a response from USCIS. I sent a case inquiry last 10/24/2020 but their response was the CSC processing times for 129F is March 3rd or earlier. The processing is within our current processing time. However, i checked USCIS and on 10/24 i thought I saw march 27 filers and earlier can submit a case inquiry already. I tried to submit a new inquiry a week after but i was not allowed until 30 days after the last inquiry or December 6. Fast forward to today and the past days, We are seeing march filers and even some april filers getting approved. We dont know why our case has not received a response yet. I was born in the Philippines and my Fiancé and I grew up in the same City. We feel like our application shows strong evidence of a legitimate relationship. I am a US citizen and submitted the applicable documents to show it. What could possibly be the reason for us not getting a response yet while others in a similar situation have gotten a response already? can this just drag on and we dont get a response? I am planning on calling USCIS tomorrow to ask status on our case. Does anyone here have experience in calling USCIS? What are the chances we will receive a response on our case soon? I am looking forward to any advice we can get. I am hoping we can get our approval soon.
your Form I-129F to notify us that you believe your case is outside of our normal processing time. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.
The CSC processing times for the Form I-129F with a receipt date of March 03, 2020 or earlier. The processing of your Form I-129F is within our current processing time.Plenty of us have been or are currently in your shoes. My NOA1 was March 10 and I was only approved last week, after seeing plenty of others after me get approved. I don't think you have to worry. Things are just slow, and there is no concrete order. Calling really won't help much, neither will filing inquiry after inquiry. This is of course, my own opinion and experience. Taking longer doesn't necessarily mean it's bad.

Hello filers... This week saw 286 new approvals for March. There are currently 980 Pending RFEs and the total approved for our month is 1768. Almost halfway through all cases (though well over 50% of cases have been looked at now, with that many RFEs).
There won't be an update next week, as my Fiancée is coming to stay (and we haven't seen each other for 10 months!)
Stay strong; news is coming.
*as always, please delete the picture if you quote this post.
Thanks! If you haven’t heard back yet, I hope you hear back soon! Enjoy your time with your fiancée!

@stephcee yeah I saw that too, do you remember the original date they had for the outside of normal processing times? They also adjusted the estimated time range..

Good day, Filers - Here is the latest update on March cases. Despite there being a holiday this week, we still saw 234 approvals.
There are 185 outstanding RFEs (which is 35 more than last week) and I'm not sure if it's a mistake in the data... but 2 new rejections. I'll check that again next week to be sure.
That's now a total of 1482 March approvals now, with 2475 applications still waiting for a final yes/no. It's getting close to 1,000 March approvals a month now, so we should see March come to a near close around February/March time.
(as always, please delete the photo from responses)
Have a great weekend. (and stay strong for those of us still waiting)
Thank you again!! The wait sucks but so nice to see it moving along nicely...

Oh thank you so much! That actually makes me feel a lot better just reading your reply and hearing others are also in the same position.
Don't worry
I know it must be really stressful, wanting to hear back ASAP and stuff.
Just remember that the original timeline of 5-7 months don't really apply anymore. It's also not really first come first serve, as some December 2019 files are still waiting to hear back.
Good luck!

Understood. Thank you both very much!

Not an issue.
so once the I129F goes through, will this end up canceling out my I130?
But say I decide to withdraw the I130, will it make a difference at all, negative or positive?
Thank you!

Hello
So I have a question about multiple petitions.
a few years ago my brother (US citizen) submitted a sibling petition for me. This thing will probably take like ten years.
this year my fiancé and I submitted our I129F. We are still waiting for NOA2/RFE.
is this going to be an issue later on? Should I ask my brother to withdraw the sibling petition? I just don’t know if this is an issue as it may look like I’m desperate to get into the US. Please advise. Thank you!!

I have a question and here are my circumstances:
Received NOA1 in March and still awaiting NOA2
Traveled to the US from June - Aug 2020 on ESTA
Was asked questions in the interview room about my work and visa status
(They told me it's best I return after getting visa)
This whole wait is taking longer than ever, and I have plans to visit my fiance during Christmas and New Year.
I will be staying for about 20 days, so a lot less than my previous visit.
Do you guys think this is going to be an issue?
Have any of you traveled multiple times to the US on ESTA while waiting for your K1 approval? Thank you so much.
RFE wording question!

Hey everyone,
I submitted my I-485 and all that in may of 2021. I got an RFE last month for a couple things, which isn’t the issue. The issue is the wording on the back of the RFE letter.
it states:
please submit the requested form I-485 to the proper address according to the form instructions. The form instructions can be found on uscis.gov/forms. Include a copy of this letter when filing the requested forms.
what exactly do they want from me? Do they need me to also include all my original submissions, or just the original I-485, or something else entirely?
the wording is super confusing to me so I’d appreciate it if anyone can help me out here! Thank you so much!
