You don't have to send a letter! They should know that you have a pending ROC application - I have seen several people that still got a combo interview. If you submitted your N-400 online, you can always attach a letter to your application on the website if you really want to :)

I applied for ROC March last year. I haven't heard anything except that my biometrics will be used... How about you?

That's good to know, thank you!! I believe I applied June of last year. I also only heard about biometrics, nothing else.

I filed on July 1st and got the notification of biometrics use right away too. Back to waiting because my ROC is still not approved but hoping for a combo interview (included an additional letter asking for one!).

I am also waiting on ROC, but I didn't send a letter :( I feel like it should be okay though? I read some people got calls from USCIS saying they were going to do a combo interview. When did you apply for ROC?

    Thanks CMT!

Yes of course, it would be useless but, my interview being ready to be scheduled doesn't mean I'll get it right away, it could be 1 month, it could be 20, but on the other hand, if I don't receive the EAD by August 20, I will be eligible to submit an official enquiry on the i765 because I will be over their processing times for my office (NBC), so I wanted to know if somebody had a change on their "765" status before receiving the combo card. Right now it only says fingerprints were taken.

    Thanks again!!

I'm sorry, I think that I misread your question! The 765 status does change. I think the orders were: "new card is being produced" to "case was approved" to "card was picked up by the post office" to "card was delivered to me by the post office".  The I-131 just changed to case was approved.

Also, my interview just got scheduled today!!

Quick question for those who have received the combo card already. My case is ready to be scheduled for an interview, and I understand that when I see "interview scheduled" is when I should be expecting the letter with the date but... what about the combo card with the EAD and SSN, does the case status change to approved before receiving it, or it doesn't change at all?

    Thanks in advance!

I don't think so... Many people have gotten their interviews schedule but never got EAD

The green card is processed by your field office, and EAD is processed by the service center. If you happen to get the GC before EAD then you wouldn't need EAD at all

  5. I haven't been active on here but just thought I'd give an update.

     San Diego /  NBC

    Timeline:

October 20 - package sent via Fedex

    October 23 - package received

    November 9 - Check cashed

    November 12 - text message received for I-485, I-131 & I-765

    November 17 - receipt for I-485, I-131 & I-765 by mail

    Jan 6 - biometrics done

March 11 - Case is ready for be scheduled an interview

July 19 - received my combo card

It took about a week to receive the EAD after getting the notification that it was approved. First I received a notice in the mail, and a couple days later, the card.

Late May I had reached out to a congressman, who reached USCIS, they said I should receive my interview notice within 30-60 days. It's been about 60 days and nothing yet. Happy I finally got my EAD though.!

Thank you! Yeah I’m also glad I went!! Yes I send in everything I had to and then some. I even got the evaluation for my Highschool and Bachelors diploma, which was almost $400 plus translations.. well I’ll see what they’ll want from me.. thank you for your reply!

this is random but I was just reading some comments on the AOS group on FB and I saw a Leah there then it just hit me, were you the one who asked some question the other day and I told you about the foreign military spouse group?!

The current USCIS I-485 page is clearly spreading the following wrong info:

    Screenshot_20210217-155948_Samsung Internet.jpg

The above section info is incorrect because the preliminary injunction in Immigration Legal Resource Center v. Wolf case is still in place. The court ordered:

    • "Pursuant to 5 U.S.C. section 705 the Court STAYS implementation and the effective date of of USCIS Immigration Fee Schedule and Changes to Certain Other Immigration Benefit Request Requirements, 85 Fed. Reg. 46,788 (Aug. 3, 2020) (the "Final Rule") in its entirety pending final adjudication of this matter.
    • Pursuant to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 65, Defendants Wolf, in his official capacity under the title of Acting Secretary of DHS; Cuccinelli, in his official capacity under the title of Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Deputy Secretary of DHS; DHS; and USCIS, and all persons acting under their direction, ARE ENJOINED from implementing or enforcing the Final Rule or any portion thereof.
    • This preliminary injunction and stay shall take effect immediately and shall remain in effect pending trial in this action or further of this Court."

I don't see why they would not charge more if they could..

Hey! So I was able to attend my appointment yesterday, even though I had no letter and didn’t even know the address. I went to two different USCIS application support centers, the second was the one I had my appointment at and they let me in with the Print-out of the email from the congressman’s office. It all went down smoothly and I was out after 10 minutes. Today I got a new notification on the app saying „On February 17, 2021, we sent a request for initial evidence for your Form I-485“. Is this normal? It says they’ll send me a letter, but who knows if that letter will arrive haha.

that's so awesome! I'm glad to hear that. Good thing you did go!

I think that's unrelated.. just a normal RFE. Did you send the I-994?

When I did my fingerprints my status just changed to " case was updated to show fingerprints were taken" for that I-765 and I-485

Thanks!! Yes I think that’s what I’ll do. But my friend who already had her appointment told me to rather reschedule in advance and not risk it, because she said they won’t let me in without the letter anyways. Ugh it’s such an unpleasant situation really.

To be honest, I also think they are unlikely to let you in. Personally I would just keep thinking "what if"! If you do go, make sure to take your passport.

Indeed it is. This whole immigration process is extremely draining.

    let us know what happens

Hi, I really need some good advice, don’t know what to do :( I received an email from the congressman’s office that I contacted for help, they told me I have a biometrics appointment scheduled for tomorrow. I never received a letter, email or notification. Nothing in my uscis online profile either. I’ve received this information today, and right away called uscis, after over 2 hours on the phone I was told that I can’t go to the appointment and have to wait for a tier 2 manager to call me back. The call was abruptly ended, so I called back once again to ask, what to do and the lady told me to just go there tomorrow with my printed out email. She said that because the biometrics appointment was only scheduled last week Thursday (!!!) and I haven’t received my letter yet I should go with the email from the congressman’s office. I literally called last week ON THE 11th to ask, when I will finally get my biometrics (!) they said they don’t know and please have patience. That same day they send me a letter, for an appointment 5 days later (with a weekend in between and we all know that the post is super slow right now because of covid!!!). I feel so speechless. I contacted my congressman’s office once again, but so far no answer. Obviously I spend hours on the phone today, so I really tried.. what should I do? @Greenbaum sorry you’re the most knowledgeable person I know on here so I tagged you.

I'm so sorry to hear that.

I don't have an answer to your question but If I were in your situation I would print out the email and go. The worst that can happen is that they will turn you away and you will have to reschedule somehow. But at least you won't be wondering if they would have let you do it.  I really hope everything works out!
