  1. Hi guys just a quick update had my green card interview yesterday it was quick less than half and hour.  They asked basically to answer the same things in the application.  Asked for my birth certificate and my son’s birth certificate.  That was basically it.  Then I was told they are gonna review my application.  By the time I got to work which is 30 minutes away it said case approved.  Still not saying card being produced though but thank God the process is almost over.

My husband and I had the interview on Tuesday, February 2nd and it was approved. However, I'll say it was the "toughest" part of the process as the officer was being passive aggressive (more on the aggressive side) with all her questions. She  truly wasn't very nice but at the end she goes, "you guys did great and you'll receive the card next week." She then gave us a pound as we walked out. After leaving the immigration office, my husband and I concluded that it must have been her scare tactic and her way to make couples nervous. She asked if we had any questions, I asked her if he would even receive his EAD card at this point as he never did. She checked the system and said that it could've been the holidays but that he will most likely receive his EAD card after his green card and to just store it somewhere. We should be receiving the card by early next week. I'm just glad it's finally over (until we need to remove the conditions).

I’m truly happy you were successful, congratulations.

Question: Where are the EAD and Social Security cards mailed from once they are produced? Do they come from NBC or local ASC office (Detroit, in our case)? We are still waiting on cards. No update other than ready to be scheduled for an interview. I know mail has been super slow in our area...taking letters more than 4 weeks when turnaround is usually 2. Yes, we are learning to master patience every step of the way

The EAD came from Lee’s Summit Missouri and the SSN came from Social security administration in Baltimore MD so 2 different places.  Yes this process has taught me a great deal of patience.  Just when I thought it would all be over and I had my interview scheduled for feb 2 the weather caused it to be cancelled now I don’t know when it will be scheduled again. So back to waiting

    Good to hear!

I'm still waiting on the freaking EAD and SSN ... I have a feeling that they aren't even going to bother, considering that my AOS interview is the 18th. My latest concern is that I won't have an SSN in time for my spouse to file jointly by the April tax deadline, and I'm not eligible for an ITIN.

Have you tried putting in and expedite request.  That’s what I had to do and it’s a good thing I did because my interview was to be today but because of the weather here in Jersey it was cancelled.  I don’t know when my interview will be now.  When it’s expedited you get it in no time.  So i would try that. Good luck

How do you go about contacting your congressman, and what did you ask them, exactly?  I have been in "ready to schedule interview" since Oct 8th.  Thanks and congrats on getting your interview date!!

I looked online for who my congressman was,  then I found the office and an email address.  I just wrote explaining my situation and how long I been waiting and the distress it was causing me.  And a representative from his office responded within hours.  She emailed me and she called me and she sent me privacy release forms to sign and send back and then she took it from there.  That was it and thank you, hope you get yours soon too

To clarify, what stage were you stalled at: the "Fingerprints have been taken" status and you were waiting for the interview, or the "Interview is being scheduled" stage, but never given a date?

I was stalled at interview is being scheduled for the i485 but I was also stalled at finger prints taken for the i765.  In fact that’s still what my i765 is saying as I never got the EAD.  I contact my Congress and in no time I was given a date so I stopped stressing over the i765 and just focusing on getting the i485 now that I have my date.

I just got notice that I'm now in "Testing and Interview" status for my I-485, so I guess we'll see if I get an actual date anytime soon!

I'm really surprised that it updated only 3 days after my biometrics were finally done.

Mine was at a standstill after biometrics had to contact my congressman.  That’s when it started moving again.  So I hope you have better luck than me

After months and months of waiting and discouragement, I'm pleased to say I finally had my biometrics appointment today!!

When nothing had changed by the end of November, I submitted a case inquiry for my EAD/AP/GC because the website had never updated from "Case Received". The "Response expected by" date of Dec 15th came and went, then on the 21st I saw through Informed Delivery that I was getting mail from USCIS. I thought it was just the standard, "Due to COVID-19, wait times have increased blah blah blah" letter, but it turned out to be a biometrics appointment notification, dated Dec 12th.

So ... yay? Who knows how many more months it'll be before I can even get my SSN or work, but at least that part's done.

I can’t tell you how long you have to wait but I can tell you my experience.  I did my biometrics 10/14 and I’m still waiting to get my ead.  I had to ask my congressman for help and now I’m told I have an interview date set.

Who wants to guess when May 2020 filers will start seeing interview notices?

I’m told mine is on its way

This just keeps getting better. So on 12/15/20 NBC was supposedly processing applications AFTER my PD of 5/27/20. Guess what? Today NBC is apparently now processing applications with a PD of 4/8/20. Yes...dates have been changed and back dated by over a month. Must be special government math. I chatted with an online rep today who said a Tier 2 Agent will get a hold of me within 7 days. They actually called back today...and hung up on me. No other call back as of yet. Guess nobody wants to be working. Really....I am speechless with respect to this process. STILL waiting on a biometrics appointment to get the process moving for work. Faith is the only thing keeping me going at this point. Here's to getting this done and progress for the rest of you! ♥️

It keeps changing always going more than a month behind it’s totally frustrating

I agree, also since your case is already outside of normal processing time I don't see why they would refuse it.

Well let’s hope you’re right.  I’m here waiting on their response.
