Technically they are not supposed to and i have not heard they asked anyone for the abuse related documents. Once your local field office gets your file from vermont they already have all the documents on that file that you submitted already.

filed I-360 & I- 485 on 03/28/2019 fingerprinted on 08/29/2019 Divorced my wife on 12/09/2019 Filed a Mandamus writ on 05/28/2022 I-360 approved on 06/16/2022 I-485 Interview on 08/05/2022 and approved same day.     This forum gave me hope and kept me believing that my turn to celebrate shall surely come sooner than later. It was this forum I learnt about the Mandamus writ. Thank you all for your encouragement, the insight and prayers. For those applicants who are still patiently waiting, don't ever give up, you'll celebrate at the end. Above all to God be all the glory, Amen!!

Today my I-485 status changed to "New Card Being Produced"!!!

I'm still in shock, I wanted to scream and jump and cry and laugh, all at the same time.
I still can't believe it. I'm so used to refreshing my tracker app every day, multiple times a day, for the past 5 years that I caught myself doing it again now.

I just wanted to thank you all so much for the support. I'm not the most active member of this forum but I've been following it for some time now and just wanted to thank everyone who shared their personal stories and experiences here. Every single one of you were extremely important to me and I found strength in all your words when I had none left.

And for everyone who's reading this post and still waiting - You came a long way already, just by being here. You are SO brave and SO strong. I know how hard this wait is but your journey is coming to an end soon!!! If anyone needs to chat, my inbox is open, always.

    Omg everyone!
I'm exploding with anxiety right now.

On July 11th, my lawyer received an RFE for my I-693. I just dropped it off at his office. He personally has never seen an interview being waived but as far as I'm seeing here, that seems to be the case 😳

I'm trying not to get my hopes up but I'm so happy already that my case is being moved!!

Anyone from Brooklyn, NY going/went through the same situation? How long did it take for you to have an update?

Hello everyone! Finally I have got approved and I should receive my green card soon!🤗🤗
I'm still married and question is how can I get divorce? Any experience like that?
Of course I cannot go to her and say "hey, let's get divorce"
We got married in 2015 and since January 2016 I didn't see her.

    Hi All,

First of all I wanted to thank you all so much for keeping me sane! For giving me strength reading your stories throughout the years and so much knowledge to deal with my case, which helped me correct my own lawyer.

My advise is be your own lawyer as well, even though you have hired one. Do the research, check what the lawyer has filed/written on your behalf etc.

Unfortunately my lawyer messed up my case so badly that she put even wrong dates on my case on top of everything and I had to deal with a very brutal prima fascia, to the point of almost loosing the case.
In addition, I had to wait after my divorce was finalized to apply for VAWA (orders from my lawyer) when the law states you can apply even when you are still married with the abusive spouse.
She also told me to never travel with a pending VAWA because it's considered as abandoning the case. I listened to her and lost so much through the years, including my mom almost dying for weeks in the hospital.
I could go on and on, but the lesson I learnt from you all is never give up and better days will come.

    Please see below my timeline.
    Filed in New York
    June 2019 Filed I360 & I 485
    Multiple EADs, Travel permit, etc
    I-360 approved July 2022

Good luck to everyone, stay strong!

    Yeah, that's right @shiva32
By following this thread thoroughly, I realized that generally,  the 4-5 months are those who had their I-485 on HOLD and their cases outside of normal processing time in their local offices.
The 9-12 months are those who filed concurrently the I-485  and the I-360 and their cases where not outside of normal processing time in their local offices.
Those much longer are those who submitted their I-485 after vawa approval or more later after their form I-360 submission.
  20. Thanks

You are doing great tracking the components in the forum. Best case scenario I have seen from vawa approval to green card in hand timeline is 4-5 months. Average is 9-12 months. Some take much longer than average.
