Originally I wasn't going to come back here until I got my interview date but just in case anyone finds it useful:
my wife is in contact with her congressman's office who have enquired about our case on her behalf a couple of times. She asked them to clarify whether the London embassy was still scheduling appointments and we got a cookie cutter response - no surprise there. Missus went back to the liason from the Congressman's office who was keen to point out the following:
That being said, it is painfully obvious to me that we aren't getting our dates this month. Maybe I'm just being a ####### about it, maybe I'm rightfully bitter and angry, but honestly I don't believe this response to be true. Every piece of information I've found about this process, be it from the government themselves, from visajourney or anywhere else has either been wrong, out of date or changed right before its about to apply to me. With the way the UK has handled covid I'll be surprised if I hear anything before the middle of next year at this rate. I'm so tired of this.
Anyway I hope the response we got gives someone some hope somewhere. I only hope I'm wrong about it being lies.
Don't fight the system. You'll freak yourself out. It will happen, just live your life and don't try second guess them.

I tend to think that passion should be reserved for sexy times with significant others and not online arguing which usually ends with someone getting in trouble. ;-D
Nope.... Life should be your passion. Not just a shag...

Good lord, I go away for a few hours and this thread went downhill fast....
It really would be healthy for some of you guys to back away from the keyboard, take a breath, get a drink, be thankful for life, and enjoy all you have instead of arguing so much about this. Someone has to win and someone has to lose. Whomever is the winner we'll get through it.
What's wrong with a bit of passion

One of the great things about being American is that we can all disagree on what it takes to love our country. I'm sure there are people who would say I don't love America because I think it is a country that needs improvement in so many areas. I don't tell people to leave the country if I think they don't love this place to bits. It just seems un-American to me to say, you don't deserve to be here because you don't conform to my subjective concept of what loving America is all about. Just my two pennies.
Well that's the problem with being subjective... Hard to take you too seriously

Regardless of who wins, we will be OK. Life will go on. We may not have what we wanted, but nothing is going to be broken either. The system was designed to ensure that.
The emperor has no clothes... Time to move on from that idiot. We will be fine. Go USA

I'd love to hear how you (or anyone else) get on at the airport if you fly out after the new travel restrictions come in this week.
Is emigration one of the exceptions ? None of the new rules seem to be published anywhere.
Thanks
You can fly out. No change. Travel restrictions are for UK citizens going on holiday and returning.

Yehaa... Approved this morning!! . All in all a very smooth process. 15min in total.
On a side note, a chap in front of me waiting to get into the embassy was not allowed in as he had traveled abroad in the last 14 days. He had to reschedule.
Good luck to all you guys!

Remember uk folks. Lockdown is only a month. It's a kick in the teeth but they have said nothing about any extensions. Chin up. It'll happen. ❤️
Hey you don't know if they are even going to close yet... Not a hard lockdown like round number 1

Thank you for the advise but this age doesn't exist anywhere because she never used that, only the parents know that.
OK just read the thread. Guess most advice is pretty much the same. You are screwed if you cheat the system. Not sure if you are even for real. But hey, good luck all the same.

I don't know why they did that when she was young. it doesn't matter why they did that, maybe they had a reason to do that.
Well I guess they gonna need that reason. Good luck bud you gonna need it.

in the end someone just understood the situation but i think that if i try to change all her documents, that will appear a cheating. better that I ignore hier problems with her parents and we continue to live as I found her. or what do u think?
Are you being serious? Why on earth would they change her age? Weird.
12 minutes ago, imsambi said:I am not here to tell you that I was going to cheat papers, I think you do not understand me what I am explaining to you because of my bad English, but I am here to tell you to help me a situation which is this. where i come from is a muslim country and each country has its laws. my wife, I've known her since, but we're not allowed to hang out like you do. since I decided to go back to America, I went to ask for her hand at the end that I could bring her to the USA. so we got married a month ago. I started to gather her documents to file her I-130 application, but I had a concern for our different age so she just announced to me that her real age is 23 but since her childhood, she uses the age of 19 years old because when she was little her parents had to change her age for personal reasons. But the birth certificate that bears his real age has never used it in any document in his life. So nobody except his parents don't know about this. So I wanted to know should I change her birth certificate so that she bears the age of her birth? but since I was assured here that the age difference is not a problem in the application, then I do not see the reason to change his birth certificate. Not only but she just played the lottery this year with the age she has now so if I change her birth certificate, they will figure out that it is cheating..

Thank you this is really informative. Particularly helpful from someone in the airline industry.
The options we have looked at are Glasgow - LHR then West Palm Beach. Miami. JFK. Newark. Orlando. Ft Lauderdale. Some of these flights require a 2nd stop via Amsterdam and Atlanta.
I presume, if the list had to be rated as most likely to fly, it would be,
1. JFK
2. Miami
3. Newark
4. Orlando
5. Ft Lauderdale
6. West Palm Beach
Grateful for your opinion. (I understand its an opinion and you cannot be held accountable!)
Thanks🙂
Hi, not sure what the problem is? Booked delta direct to Atlanta. I would use the biggest hubs Atlanta, Miami, jfk... The rest is pretty straightforward.
Moved Oct 12 but still no SS or Greencard.
