Correct regarding card delays. Not expecting mine anytime sooon. Officer mentioned this could take 3 month to produce but I could call if an emergency popped up. If you plan to travel you can ask for the passport stamp but I didn’t try because seemed pointless with COVID. I received my physical approval notices today.

Card mailed today. Looks like it took about 2 weeks for me since approval. I should receive next week hopefully

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you need the passport stamp to prove you have lawful status if you don't have your green card yet? At least, that's what I got told by the Texas DMV when I asked about getting a full-term drivers license instead of a one-year temporary resident license.

Not sure. Uscis website states I’m an LPR when case is approved so I think I am lol. I haven’t tried to claim any benefits like full Drivers license yet. Waiting for the card to arrive to avoid any drama as DMV appointments are hard to get these days with COVID. Also will probably need it to apply for SS card without restrictions. Passport stamp is for international travel Before card arrives.

Congratulations! We are on a similar timeline now. Our appointment letter took a little extra time to arrive because the USCIS incorrectly sent it to our old address. Fortunately the USPS forwarded it to our new address without too much drama. Expect your letter within a week. Our scheduled appointment is set for 6 weeks after our case tracker notification. We're in Jacksonville, but I assume that 6 weeks thing is pretty standard for all the field offices.

Now we just have to hope that the upcoming USCIS furloughs don't screw up the second attempt for our interviews. And even if the interviews do go as planned, I have been reading that there is a major delay in the production of the physical green cards. If anyone in this thread knows anything about green card production delays, please chime in.

Sorry if I'm sounding negative. It's been a pretty messed up year for everybody. Good luck on your journey!

Congrats! When did the case status change to Interview Scheduled and how long did the mail notice arrive after the case status change? Thanks!

Thank you! Status never changed to interview scheduled. It went for case was accepted to approved. Mail was sent to wrong apartment number but my neighbor brought it to me (and my lawyer received a copy 3 days later). We got lucky because interview date was a week after letter was received. Very small window that I would've missed if my neighbor didn't deliver to me.

Got mail showing Interview scheduled for next week. Case never updated on website. Mail was actually sent to the wrong address but USPS was able to get it to me.  🙂

Approved in interview. Waiting for case to be updated. Officer said not to expect card in hand soon because of furloughs and contractor issues. Good luck to everyone

    Hi Guys,

I got my EAD card today finalyyyyy!

    My timeline:

    2/3 send expedite request

    2/4 fax

    2/10 approved expedite request

2/28 "case is approved" , "card is produced"

3/2 receive noa letter (ead+AP approve)

3/3 "card is mailed to me"

3/4 receive my card in mailbox

total 100 days since I filed in Nov 26.

I think the delayed process is from the 485. They have to check if you have REF, then make a decision for the case.

I have a question: since I already have my SSN, should I go to SSA update it with my currect EAD card?

    Thank you all! Good luck!

yea. I had one back in college too. Tell the agent you want a replacement card and update for removal of restrictions because your status changed. You should get a letter stamped and signed to say you can work immediately. CONGRATS

Thank you! Just debating on if I should walk into to the SS office and wait in that long line or just assume they sent it automatically

Went to the SSA today. First office told me that “policy is that new EAD holders must wait 4 weeks before applying” which is clearly wrong. Drove to another office and was processed on the spot and given a letter stating I can start work immediately.

    Hello congratulations

I am going to walk in for biometric today I was wondering if there is any form you have to fill out at the biometric office before they take you ?

    Hello

I am going to walk in for biometric today I was wondering if there is any form you have to fill out at the biometric office before they take you ?

No just the biometric letter. If it’s busy they won’t let you in. Try to look in first and see how busy it is. If there are 5+ people, not even worth trying. Good luck.
