Thank you!
Feeling the pain of everyone who thought they'd be in this batch we were confident we'd get ours last month so seems to just be smaller batches being scheduled and I promise it went quickly!

APPROVED THIS MORNING! Received a text (it's a 505 area code - I had always wondered so thought I'd share) that our case had been updated, but could only see from my phone "Case Sent to Department of State". I then received an email that our case status was "Post Decision Activity" and was sent to Department of State for visa processing. About 10 minutes later a 2nd email arrived formally stating our petition has been approved!! A little confusion followed by pure excitement!
- US Citizen filing for spouse - I-130 only
- NOA1 - 10/8/2019 (Texas Service Center)
- NOA2 - 6/24/2019 (Potomac Service Center)
- Most recent update on MyUSCIS portal had been April 6th, 2020, so I honestly figured we had a ways to go and had kind of given up hope on anything happening anytime soon. Especially because we knew our case was with Potomac after calling to ask a few months back, and the recent update on processing times on the USCIS website for Potomac really freaked us out.
My husband received his NVC email to set up his account about 2 hours after our USCIS approval email.
This timing could not have been better - I fly tomorrow to see him for the first time since February with border closures. This will make reuniting with him even more special.
For those of you still waiting on your approval, I totally know that bittersweet, mixed feeling of hope and jealousy when someone else posts that they were approved (especially when their PD is after yours 😠), but hope you get to share your approval with us soon.

APPROVED!!
My husband had his interview this morning at 10:30am. Like everyone else has stated, he was not let into the building a minute before his appointment time. Total time was just over 1 hour!
He brought his phone and checked it into a locker, brought in 2 binders with required paperwork in 1 and back up paperwork in the 2nd (we knew we were overprepared with paperwork but it calmed his nerves to have everything in hand).
He wore a button up shirt, slacks and dress shoes and said he felt slightly overdressed.
At the first window, he was asked for our marriage certificate, his birth certificate and police certificate (all original copies). We uploaded my 2020 tax return beforehand, so he was not asked for this at any point. They kept his police certificate and returned the others.
They gave him the pamphlet, but he was called to the next window before he finished reading it.
Questions he was asked:
He said everyone was incredibly nice and eased his nerves big time. He was given the Welcome to US paper and said he'd receive passport back in up to 3 weeks, but of course hoping for sooner.
PS - we found it odd the address for the consulate wasn't listed in the interview letter and he had a mini panic attack about going to the right address, (we had the correct one from the FAQ page, but also saw a different address elsewhere on Google). Re-adding it here in case it's helpful to anyone else who has a last minute freak out like us.

Words can't express how thankful I am for everyone on this thread, especially @Hawk Riders for the invaluable information you've been so generous to make accessible to us all - truly any question I ever had was answered through this group. Looking forward to a lot less stress and facetimes after a long 7 years of long distance dating and marriage!
