What a roller coaster! My husband got his interview canned an hour before his interview time due to the last minute lockdown of Auckland last month. We were finally rescheduled for today and my husband has been APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!! He was in and out of the embassy in 20 minutes. We were worried about my income because I moved from NZ and have only been working for 4 months in the US and a co-sponsor was not an option for us. They did not ask to see any paperwork or more financial evidence. I get to see my husband for the first time since Janaury!!! Whoooo!!!

I got my expedited request approved around August 14th. So all my file got sent to Syndey right away. But it looks like the interview is quite some time away as the borders are closed. I am in Melbourne.

for as long as there are VIC/NSW borders, Victorians will not be granted visas. Hopefully that will ease soon as our cases are dropping!

Oh my!
So Air NZ have cancelled all Auckland to SFO flights from 15 Sep.
from 15 September onwards they only have flights Tuesday's, Thursday’s and Sunday’s. My flight is booked on a Thursday and so far has not been cancelled but is pretty full at the moment.
what a time. You really need to go ASAP. Flights are disappearing quick.

I had a look on both Flight centre and the Air NZ website and there is nothing for the rest of the year.
🤣 just my luck

Hey guys,
Very sadly our relationship did not survive the prolonged time apart and it’s with the heaviest heart I need some advice on how to withdraw K1 application. We have NOA2 and it’s currently sitting at NVC since March.
I am beyond heartbroken and would appreciate if people will be kind in what they say about this, just the quickest and easiest way to do it please?
Thank you for everyone’s help in the past, especially you @Greenbaum ❤️
Good luck on everyone’s visas going forward.

@Spencer_Kyle just jumping in quickly to help you out because I'm noticing you're asking people who filed spousal visas (not K-1) about their process and expediting and what you need to do next for your case. It's going to cause you some confusion. You'll notice often under people's names it says what type of visa they filed. The process is different for IR-1/CR-1 than K-1.
Seeming you are K-1 your process will be this: you need to wait for NVC to give you a case number before you can request expedited processing. At the moment that is taking anywhere from around 3 weeks- 7 weeks from NOA2. It took me 7 weeks for them to generate a case number from NOA2. At that point you can request expedited processing but you need to ask the Consulate. If approved they will request your file from the NVC. I'm not sure how things will change between now and when you get a case number but that's the process at the moment.

that’s what I thought too. But because we are immigrating, she’ll need a US immigrant visa attached to her Australian passport at checkin.
because she’s a citizen of US she needs to travel on her US passport as we won’t be going through immigration again in NZ. She will also use her US passport to enter
but I was under the assumption she could leave Australia on her Aussie passport but because we are immigrants and she has no US immigrant visa she needs to use her passport. Maybe post covid/once we’ve moved I dunno. It was only $10 and time will tel at check in

For anyone wondering, after my expidite 4 weeks ago, and interview approx 2 weeks ago, my visa sat in administrative processing for a week, and was finally approved today 🖤
For anyone thinking about applying for an expidite, DO IT. We were on the fence about it, and despite being told by people on various forums that our reason "wasn't good enough", everything worked out in our favour in the end.

VISA IS FINALLY IN HAND!!
Also, passports now come with a letter from the consulate that basically says:
Dear Border Patrol,
Let My People Go.
xoxo,
US Consulate

We applied for ours last month. It took about 5 days for NVC to acknowledge the email and then about another 5 days for them to let us know that the expedite has been approved. After than you can email the consulate (no phone calls) and ask them about the interview. We were sent an email with 3 options relating to the timing of the interview. Due to COVID-19 they were asking if we wanted to wait for 2 months. We didn't choose that option, but asked for an interview after 21 September in order for us to get the required information together. From our experience, they are only booking interviews 2 to 3 weeks out, so if you probably won't hear anything unless they offer you the options, or give you a date. My interview is scheduled for 22 September.

Thanks everyone. I’m confident you’ll all be given an interview and will be headed to the US soon. It’s such a stressful process and you’re all champions for pushing through - especially in such a crappy time.
