  1. There have been a few approvals in this thread for WAC filers. If the wait times is the same then we should start seeing something in a month or two.
  2. It doesn't take a genius to figure out he's talking about immigration policies specifically. And he gave enough examples of why that's the case.
  3. Where did that estimate come from? March/July estimate come from? If it came from VJ you can ignore it.
  4. You probably found someone who had no idea how to handle extension letter, which is unfortunately quite common with the ROC process. Asking a supervisor to intervene might have helped
  5. Yeah, I agree with the general sentiment. Nexus is only worth it if you either live near one of the centers that processes Nexus (they are only in states that border Canada) or if you travel very often to Canada.
  6. Yeah, they said they don't need anymore information at this point and just need someone on their side to pick up the application. No eta either. However, once the 60 day time hits I can start calling them. For me, that was over the weekend so I will start calling them today or within next few days.
  7. I agree with most of that, especially the part about traveling to a location closer to the border. However, most credit cards will not reimburse the global entry application fee. The list is somewhat small in fact. https://upgradedpoints.com/credit-cards/best-credit-cards-for-global-entry-credit/ There's none I could find with no annual fee. The cheapest one has $45 annual fee. Although if one was already planning on getting one of these cards, or already had them, then it works great.
  8. Yep. I also forgot to mention in my previous post which I can't see to be able to edit, but Nexus also acts like Global entry when entering Canada. So that's also a nice benefit depending how often one travels to Canada.
  9. I see quite a few approvals from September, but none in October yet. We are likely at least a couple months out, if not more, from seeing any approvals.
  10. Not true. It can be used at when arriving in US by air at any airport. It can also be used when entering US via Canadian border. I don't think it can be used at mexican border.
  11. You should cancel precheck appoint and get a global entry one. I made that mistake and it's too late since I already paid.
  12. I applied for TSA precheck with expired 2 year GC + extension letter 2 months ago. Initially the employees who take fingerprints etc were confused and thought it wouldn't work, then they made some calls and were told to move the expiration date 2 years forward. I still haven't received the number yet 60 days later, although that's unrelated to having an expired GC + extension letter. I called them and they said they are just backed up.
  13. From their perspective, they want to deal with as few 'red flags' cases as possible. If they can remove the red flag from a case, it makes their life easier.
  14. That will never be changed for the better probably for the next 10-20 years. With that being said, I don't know if INA mandates it or only recommends it.
  15. While we are in better position than someone that field for AOS, we still have other problems. Lot of businesses and even some government employees are clueless about I-751 and if they want to see proof of your status they become suspicious and/or give you trouble.
  16. They are not going to get rid of it, given it's probably one of their most profitable sources of revenue. They were running out of money not long ago and they won't let this cash cow go. It's also codified in the INA act, although I am not sure if that act mandates it or only suggests it. In any case, it seems this is true for most services centers except WAC and SRC. Those are still processing a bulk of their applications within a year.
