  1. no previous marriage ? daughter out of wedlock is also a red flag
  2. you can expedite the USCIS and NVC process the embassy still puts it in queue and will interview in line with others before u https://pk.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/frequently-asked-questions/ Some visa applications require further administrative processing, which takes additional time after the visa applicant’s interview by a consular officer. Applicants are advised of this requirement when they apply. Most administrative processing is resolved within 60 days of the visa interview. When administrative processing is required, the timing will vary based on individual circumstances of each case. Once the administrative processing has been completed, we will contact you immediately to let you know and will ask you to return your passport if we have not retained it. Once we have printed your visa, we will return your passport along with the visa packet via our approved courier service (American Express). If it has been more than 6 months since your interview, please e-mail us through our web-based e-mail submission form with your interview date and case number.
  3. u don't need a visa service a US lawyer if there are criminal issues or past visa overstay and waiver(s) needed Think about the spouse visa K1 couples go thru a lot of hassles
  4. For Islambad he will go thru AP after and it can be extensive as record keeping in Pakistan is poor especially on the older citizens during AP there is no expedite /it is just a long wait
  5. fair? the sheer number of petitions Lagos receives is the reason for the long wait giving u examples fiscal year they approved immediate family for 2332 and all immigrant visas approved were 4609 /this does not include numbers for denied or nonimmigrant visas Lagos approves over 1000 tourist visas a month this is a lot of interviews and the queue is long while a country like Finland had 39 approved family visas for the same year/ yeah, they will get an interview faster in that counrty as there are fewer petitions check out the number of approved visas for yourself https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-statistics.html
  6. Seriously take this advice a 10 day or 2 week vacation is just that /its not enough time to get to know a person / talking online u don't get to know the person an d how he acts day to day with all situations / on a 10 day trip he will be on best behavior On a K1 the non citizen can't work till AOS is applied for and he has EAD card. this time alone at home in a strange country is hard on many and puts a lot of stress on the marriage U may need to take a leave of absence and stay a month or longer while u think and check all things , make sure your income is sufficient for the process (CR1 has to be 125% of poverty guidelines)
  7. CAREFULLY READ and understand the process, documents and timeframe needed to marry in Algeria return and marry there and petition for CR1 U need to spend quality time with him and show that the family approves of the marriage / there is not way around it when a CO thinks u have not been together in-person enough The K1 when returned is allowed to die at the USCIS office and u probably will not have a letter from them to say the issues the CO posted in the denial /never seen a denied K1 overturned for our countries He needs to ask for his passport back Other Red flags for a relationship from our countries can be 1 lack of former education 2 lack of job experience 3 cultural norms as most Algerian men would not marry a divorcee or widow from Algeri being Kabylian has nothing to do with this /its just a coastal mountaineous region in Algeria speaking Kabylie or berber /he is still Algerian and Islam is the major religion Like Morocco, Algeria also is part of the Arab League (Algeria joined August 6,1962 but they do not consider themselves Arabs either) My husband's family speaks Darija but is moroccan and our country also speaks berber aka Tamazight, French, Arab (in offical writing) just as Algeria does Kabylie is just regional
  8. This is why i say marry and go CR1 Take Boiler's advice and file the WOM
  9. marriage license and marriage certificate in the US always has the woman's maiden name they will not change this
  10. if your USC wife is a permanent resident in Tunisia , she can find out from the embassy if they allow her to file in US embassy there If she is just there to marry and honeymoon and be with your family for a trip, she will file the I 130 online when she has the marriage certificate and certified English translation u will interview in Tunis at US embassy she should not do any interview/ if embassy does one , they can call her on phone and question her/ this is only when CO at embassy has suspicion that the relationship is not real Best to read the guides (hit on the word guide above) and follow the steps in order allah yekbel
  11. you can apply to US companies at any time Company will handle the SS # (as applied for ) and have u do a W9 OR have u file a W8 untill SS # when u would file W9 with new SS # recd/ this is done per HR and company rules Foreign person. If you are a foreign person, do not use Form W-9. Instead, use the appropriate Form W-8 (see Publication 515, Withholding of Tax on Nonresident Aliens and Foreign Entities). Federal taxes on income is withheld per pay periods and company has to turn in federal taxes, medicare and SS monies for each quarter so they have a little lea way before needing SS # if you paid (the employer) wages subject to employment taxes with the IRS for each quarter by the last day of the month that follows the end of the quarter So, example : For work Jan 1st to March 31st, company would need SS # to send in with your withheld monies by end of April
  12. she plans to live here /u can do the scenic route anytime do easy now she'll want to get someplace and stretch her legs ,relax a little I flew from Peru, stop in Bogata overnight as the plane had issues and then onto FLL / all i wanted to do was get home FLL is easy / the peruvians flying in on my plane had short interviews with immigration
  13. i also pick FLL Miami personal can be rude i have used both and FLL is my personal choice But either will process
  14. it was for 2 Moroccans they said how they met online and the embassy wanted proof of this and chats from the beginning Otherwise, it appeared they had married on 1st visit with the proofs they sent of the latter chats these moroccans both made posts about this here on VJ With your multirple visits, if there are no other red flags, it is highly doubtful that u will need the beginning chats From 2019 till now (4 years) with multiple visits is, itself, strong proof of a relationship
  15. This all depends on where the ship will stop and if cruise is "closed loop" Although the following is true Legal U.S. Residents (Non-Citizens) Legal permanent residents of the U.S. must have a valid passport from their country of citizenship and a valid Alien Registration Card (Green Card) to enter or re-enter the U.S. But If ship will dock (say at Aruba which is Dutch) a Chinese citizen would need a tourist visa so it matters where the ship, itself , is going. If the person needs a tourist visa and does not have one, the ship can not let him board, Even is a person is a naturalized citizen some countires require a tourist visa to travel there example: born in Cuba -needs visa for Brazil even with a US passport
  16. You have a pending CR1 so u have immigrant intent Any CO would assume u intent to stay in the US and AOS from here /therefore deny a tourist visa IF by any chance, it was approved, CBP would more-than-likely not allow entry into US as the system would show a CR1 Please fill out a timeline as its so important for all of u going thru the same embassy
  17. we had 3 different petitions a lot of questions for the 2 that were denied for the approved final one the man only asked 3 questions Interview was quick and visa was issued within a week
  18. How old is this child? before 1993 there was poor record keeping but since then not so as all births are recorded by NPC . For people born before 1993; you'll only be able to get an Attestation of Birth + Affidavit (2 complimentary documents), as a Birth Certificate cannot be issued for people born before the formation of the NPC. Nigerian birth certificates (and copies) have in upper right corner , the month, year and entry # where the record is (this doesn't change) Center is parents names and DOB at bottom left is the area born and actual date of record (not changed if a copy) the only date that would be different would be the stamp date when u got a new copy Unfortunately the following is a statement of what u face in Nigeria All indications are that the use of false travel documents, birth certificates and other documents is increasing
  19. Yes, ours was for the one when they intended to issue visa The packet and documents have been seen and reviewed
  20. They prefer seeing copies (do not send originals at this point) of real life meeting a few photos together boarding passes to show the visit(s) A few messages from start and a few to show continue chats (it seems chats have only been important when a CO suspects a timeframe of 1st meeting online) 1 page letter to say how u met and in - person meeting and listing of any additional visits Best to say what country because each embassy has special needs like ours would be a photo of USC and moroccan mother to show an approval of family
  21. I am truly sorry he has hurt you I am sure your family is saying "u r lucky to find out before he took u for everything and ran u into debt" U will get a lot of advice from family and friends /much of it will conflict / only when u find out u don't want to hear this will u understand u r finally able to handle things on your own Don't let someone who isn't worth your love make u forget how much u r worth God bless u OP if u saw any red flags when u and he were together, share them with others U said he expected u to wait on him hand and foot / In his home did the women do this? Did he expect u to buy everything for him? Or did u offer? Did he need money sent while he was in his country ? when u chatted was all the talk about immigration and his visa and when would it happen? Did he cut the chats short as he had things to do? Did u know if he used a fake ID for web sites? How many dating sites did he use? Many embassies put out a list of warnings about international marriages but there are things we see / hear when talking to someone that just make us wonder DOS red flags aren't the ones we see but i think, sincerely , that the COs in many embassies have a pretty good idea as they see the cutture and they know if the person has a job and /or education to get one They just see the person with experience and the head ruling as the heart is not in control
  22. And would u pay again to get the certificate changed if u remarry?
  23. That's how the DS 160 is paid for the tourist visa Email them and make the confirm its K1 because embassy post says pay it there
  24. Our K1 (2009 ) interviewer was a Moroccan woman
