Thank you so much for sharing your updates... as very rarely someone from NY posts here.
I'm Queens office, filed same time as you, my case was in Vermont then transferred to NBC and ready to be scheduled for an interview - been waiting for over a year now.
How long did you wait for an interview date or they informed you just now that you will be having one?

I guess I'll be waiting much longer as I didn't apply for n400 and in a divorce process.

    Thank you!!!

I got a stamp today and the officer told me that my case is now in the field office, NYC, since July 2020 when the status changed to ' ready for an interview '. The processing times for that office are 13-31 months, and he was like: it's still early, you'll have to wait another 3-5 years!!! Literally those were his words!! ( applied july 2019).
So basically,  now the process takes roughly 10 years, from beginning to end. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️. I feel like they are getting paid just so they make our lives more difficult.
He was so unpleasant... he barely looked at me.

Hello everyone, by Jesus’s grace I’m here to share that this morning my greencard has been approved. I’ve been a silent reader of this forum and celebrated every little victory of you guys approval, many times I was filled with hope by reading your experiences and today I want someone to read my experience and be filled with hope too. Here is my timeline:

    I751 filled on July 1st 2019
    Biometrics fone October 23rd 2019
I got divorce and sent my divorce decree on June 11th 2020
and today October 23rd my card is being produced.

Keep y’all’s faith, God’s will is perfect, His time is better. God bless you all on your journey.

Do you know if local offices can approve prior to interview? I thought I saw one previous post on here that it happened to someone. Thanks!

Good day everyone! I was recently notified of a potential interview after my RFE was reviewed in St Albans. Does anyone know how much time they give you to prepare for your interview at your local office or even if the local office can approve the petition even though it already went through NBC in Missouri? Thanks for any information

Many of the older members here do get snitty for some reason, which goes against the whole purpose of this community. The whole reason most of us register for forums are due to anxiety and even though some (ok honestly most) questions are stupid, it would help if people show empathy.

Today i found out some useful information for my self and potentially you guys.
I called USCIS, and they told me offices are not completely open, and thats why they are not doing so many i751 interviews. They will be open completelly on July 13.
Hopefully this gives you some peace, who is waiting just like i am, to be rescheduled after cancelled interview.

    Hi,
If you have a pending I-751 while you filed an N400, most likely it will be a combo interview. The rate for scheduling in NY is haphazard right now....some are getting oath ceremonies scheduled, some are getting initial interviews rescheduled and some are sitting  🦆  right now. It also depends on what part of NY your field office is located and how fast they are moving with these cases.
I suggest joining a New York filers forum on here if you can find one specifically discussing topics on your field office and I also recommend creating your timeline with this link so that others can help you better: https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=333967  👈

Yup... bounce around the forums you’d see.

I have also noticed that it takes like roughly two months after a status change for either case approval or an interview date from that interview ready to be scheduled update.

    youre almost done atleast.

    Hi everyone!
I would like to share my recent experience and hope to help you all somehow or at least feel better since we are not alone in this lengthy journey. I filed my I 751 in Oct 2016, completed biometric a month later, but my online status never changed since "We received your application and waived the filing fees..." Until Jan 2018, I decided to file for citizenship before I looked for a new job  that might require me to move (I'm a recent graduate nurse). Amazingly, my N 400 got processed really fast as I think it might be an apology from uscis which I never forgive..lol.
File Jan 08. Received Jan 16. Biometric Feb 09. INTERVIEW April 05!!! (although it said online that my case would be completed till Feb 2019 ???)
I did a little bit research about how N 400 worked along with pending I 751, and there were some threads saying that they would send out another letter closer to the interview date that requires the spouse to accompany for a combo interview. YES, this is true if your I 751 is not adjusted before the interview. I would never file N 400 if I knew it were the case (who is on earth wants others to question and judge their married lives?!). However, the second letter never came to me, and I decided to go alone for the interview.
IO opened the door and the first thing he asked me was "is your wife coming with you?" I said she could not because she has work. He did not say anything else and walked me to the room. He started with the exam first! I got 1 wrong (who is the chief military? I said John Roberts @@, sorry Trump). I corrected myself 5s after but he said it was not a big deal. Then he briefly went through the application with some of the Yes/NO questions, had me signed my name under name change, and whatever would appear on the certificate. Then he started to dig into our married lives.
How much is the rent, who paid via what bank account? Who else lives in the house besides you two? What's my mother in law's name? Where does my wife work? When was your last time travelled together? How come she did not go with you last year? When was your last time travel out of California? How often does your wife go to Mexico? How come you did not go with her?
It was traumatizing because I was not prepared for those memories. It came out of my mouth the way things happened, but the answers were choppy because I needed time to recall under stress and anxiety, even though I acted calm and professional (that's what nursing school has trained me!). Then the IO said the good news was my N 400 was ready to go, but the bad news was my I 751 was pending, so he was not able to make any decision (the computer did not let him recommend for approval). He said "I'm pretty sure you have to come back with your wife. But let me go talk to my supervisor very quick." After 5 mins, he came back with "my supervisor was not here!" (and my head was like it took you that long to figure out?). Then he started to roast me more about our marriage.
More details: What did you guys do last weekend? What did you guys do on Easter? What time did your wife get home on Easter? What did you guys do on your and her birthday? What did you guys do last Xmas? Why did you guys not have kids yet? How come you did not look for a nursing job yet?
Then he started to test me about some of the pictures I submitted in I 751 files: who was in the pictures? when was the first date? how was it? how did you guys meet? how come you finished your nursing degree but your wife did not go to school?
After all the scary interrogation, to me, the IO is a very cool guy. He looks like 23-26 years old, and skateboards to work in vest, that's awesome!!! He is very nice and friendly the way he asks. And sometimes, he laughs at some funny details from my answers. In the end, he said "decision cannot be made yet" and told me I would get the letter which is either request for interview with spouse or oath letter in 2 weeks.
After 25 DAYS, MY CASE GOT APPROVED!
After weeks of recalling (or being haunted by) of the interview, I think the IO was trying his best to approve me, and conducted the I 751 interview alone instead of being with my spouse. I read online that IO is also under supervision of their boss who is the one that makes the final decision. However, the "IO's recommendation" will play a big role in case approval.
I finally get to the end of my "uscis relationship," I all feel you guys, 1 day lasts like a decade!!! But keep your hopes up and always be prepared! My key advice is always be respectful to the IO, be calm, polite, and professional to make a good impression on them, even when they hand you "decision cannot be made." That moment, everything was shut down in front of me, but I tried my best to put a smile on my face, said "thank you" and gave him a good-bye handshake!
    Good luck to everyone!

According to their timeline, the I-751 was moved to the NBC May 20th, but shortly after they also filed for citizenship so that might have something to do with their quick movement.

So the letter finally arrived, my case was also sent to the NBC. Kind of frustrating since they still had the option to adjust it in Vermont, but it is what it is. Here’s to another 3-6 months of waiting.

    "Vote for what"....
I know the USCIS is self funded, but had surplus until before this administration.
This means it is currently poorly managed.

USCIS also transferred 200 millions to ICE this year. No wonder they are broke.
Guess who ordered to do that transfer?
