  1. Hi all - do you think it'd be possible for a spouse to come visit the US while they're awaiting a date being scheduled for interview?

We've made it this far and our case complete by NVC demonstrates the good-standing of the application. There wouldn't be an intent to immigrate during that stay if they're going to fly back for their interview. Spouse would have a return ticket as well.

Thoughts? I don't think there's a lot of risk involved if we've already proven that we've been following the process.

  2. Signed - thank you for this initiative! Been sweating it all day since my wife is on the interview stage. However I found some chatter that might be consistent to what our hopes are.

    From CNBC
"Americans who wish to bring immediate family to the country would still be able to do so, according to the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity before the plan was announced.'

    Hello Everyone,

My husband (USc) and I got DQed on April 6th.

The same day, part of the list of my civil documents on CEAC webside became kind of a mess:

    - 3 documents (passport biographic page, photos, police certificate) that had been accepted are now under the status "missing" 😲

    - and 2 others have a tittle that doesn't match the document anymore (not sure if I'm clear) 🥶 Super weird.

Our lawyer (for those who have followed me, you know I am not a big fan of him) told us that as long as we got the email saying that we are DQ, we are fine and he doesn't want to hear about what the website is saying.

Also, on the website, the message from CEAC is clearly saying "DQ".

Has anyone ever experienced that problem?

    Thank you,

    Alix

Wondering the same thing Alix. Our original translations are here with me in the US. I am not very inclined to mail them & have the docs get misplaced in the mail....

If you find anything out let me know please & I'll do the same.

  4. Got our case # today and had the runtime error trying to pay too. Waited ~30 mins and it directed me to the payment form. Filled out the form *correctly* and it said I had an error and to try again later. Logged out/in and now it says payment is 'in progress'. #######?

I'm gonna call them and get an answer. Not going to sit waiting when they're making mistakes when I'm trying to give them my money!

  5. My wife has completed two J-1 visa programs (1st was where we met, 2nd was in my hometown) prior to submitting i-130. She was given soc # on her first J-1.

We didn't want to rush things & get married while she was on her J-1. We did not file for adjustment of status & she is currently back in Spain (consular processing).

Recently got our NoA1 from Texas.  Wanted to confirm my hunch that if her info is in the system from her prior visas, it might shorten processing time?

Anyone else had a similar experience?
