Fiancé and I are making some plans for her arrival since I work. I chose to have the Visa mailed to ASC (where fingerprints are taken). Does anyone know how long that would take? Our US Ebassy is in Bogota, Colombia.

Did you already have your interview at the Embassy in Bogota??? if so when was your visa approved? Ours was finally approved in January but now over 6 months later we still wait for the US embassy in Bogota to give us a date.

Delivery services in Colombia are shady and rough so be prepared from from anywhere to a week to two weeks depending on where she lives. My fiancé is in Medellin but again we still waiting to get the friggin interview. It would be awesome to know when your visa was approved and how long it took you to get the interview at the embassy.

    Thanks

@d99gr81 After my approval I noticed people have had their cases stuck at the National Visa Center since March, so it's not really exciting. But I get that you would probably want it approved anyway because that's one less obstacle.

Yes exactly... My lawyer sent and inquiry and we got a response last week that it is in the process of being adjudicated so she thinks we will hear any day now...

I have tried to find information to support that, but I don't see anything online about it. Are you sure he/she isn't referring to the possible USCIS layoffs that may begin August 3rd?

No my lawyer said specifically that the visa center. That's why she told me we must hope that the uscis approves it soon so it can get the the visa center before the layoffs.

    Congrats @Ben&Liz

@nosleep were you able to find out the reason for your RFE?  I'm happy that you heard something.

@Elif_and_Greg, have you made any progress with your RFE?

@d99gr81, how was the visit to Medellin?

    @Sarge2155, how was the interview?

The trip was great, until i missed my flight and had to deal with that for an extra day... I just wanted to get home to send the divorce decree for the RFE... My lawyer sent it originally though so they lost it. This time i sent copies of mine and my ex wife's so I hope there are no issues. I hate that I am losing time... i really hope it does not take them long... I overnight-ed it so they received it July 11th. I wish they would just open it... see that I have a legitimate divorce decree and approve... You would think they did everything else right?

    Sigh

This is how we learn from your posts, and how did you find out? You said it or the RFE states it? I'm so confused.

I called the main number and when the jest person could not answer my questions she transferred me to the next level but they were busy so the added me to a call back list...  I waited 2 hours and they called me back.., the lady was grumpy and did not want to look but I explained my situation and she said she would check but if it was a lot she was not going to read it all.., but she came back and told me it was my devoted paper not legible.. but I know it was fine. It’s the same one I used last time I went through this process and was approved

Sorry to hear about the RFE @d99gr81.  Hopefully it's something simple.  When you get a person on the phone, ask them to transfer them to Tier 2.

    Here are a few options:

    13. Calling USCIS: You'll need your receipt number, DOB for both of you and full names. Beneficiary or the petitioner can call.    1 (800) 375-5283 8:00 am   Option 1:  Call USCIS. Do not press anything. Do not choose a language. If someone who picked up the phone cannot answer your question, ask them to transfer you to TIER 2.

    Option 2:  Dial 1-866-953-7684

Option 3:  Call 1-800-375-5283  Press 1 to continue to English  Press 2 for case status  Press 1 if you know your receipt number  Press your receipt number 922(followed by your WAC#). They will tell you to visit the website for the answer but press 3 or wait and you will be connected to a live agent.

Option 4:  Dial 1-800-375-5283 then press 1,2,2,4,2,1 then enter receipt number then press 1.

Thanks... I spoke with someone who could not answer my question so she transferred me to tier 2 but the router me through an automatic call back system that said the wait time for them to call me back is two hours. I am beyond frustrated. The First Lady said I should see documents online but it’s no where for me to find.

  7. So on Friday I landed in Medellin to visit my fiancé... as soon as I got off the plane I got update for an RFE... I went through this process before with a previous woman and with the same lawyer and had no problems... I eventually ended that relationship just before the embassy visit.,, I provided all the same information as before and I also took more time to know my fiancé ... so for the life of me I can’t imagine what the hell is wrong.,, I am in Medellin now so I am not home to get my mail... Does anyone have a phone number I can call to find out what the RFE is for? I have tried the general USCIS number... I waited 30 minutes on hold and then they disconnect the call... I am so frustrated and annoyed. My 129f was accepted March 15th 2019. My lawyer says that they tend to lose documents and information or even mix them up with other people. I just want to find out what the RFE is for in case it’s something we need to get while I’m in Medellin.

I feel your pain.  I'm almost embarrassed to admit how many times I have flown this year.  The frequency doesn't make it any easier to say goodbye when it's time to get on the plane and go back home.

My prayers are with everyone going through this situation.

Friday will be my 12th trip since last April.

Yes saying goodbye gets worse each time... Now as soon as I get there she starts saying she will be sad when I leave... I am like lets not think about me leaving yet, i just got here lol

I will be going for ten days this time so it will be a longer stay so that will be nice.

Let's hope these USCIS employees are nothing like DMV employees. LOL

That's cool you can visit your fiance. I'm sure that takes the edge off the waiting and anxiety.

I go back and see her every 4 to 6 weeks... but its getting harder on her and her daughter. She does not like to be apart and she knows it takes time but she does not understand why it takes so long. Nor do i quite frankly. I understand they do background checks and look at proof of relationship but I am a network engineer and I know technology... 7 months or more? Seems crazy to me with today's technology. With everything my lawyer and I have given them for proof of relationship mine should be simple.

But here I wait and hope for news soon...

The more April filers I see getting their NOA2 just gets me worried. I know they say not to compare your case to others but of course I'm gonna do that.

Sorry, I of course am happy for you guys that you got your NOA2. But time goes by very slowly these days for me.

I feel you, I'm in the same boat... Mach 15th 2019

I am happy for anyone that gets theirs but honestly its frustrating there is no numeric symmetry.

It feels like waiting at the DMV and you pull a number but they just randomly call numbers before and after yours lol.

I head to see my fiance again Friday. I had really hoped to get get it prior :(

My NOA1 is near the end of March and hoping for something within a couple weeks.  I just try to keep the attitude of "The glass is half full" since just a few months ago the times were much longer.  I would love to get NOA2 this month, but even if it's next month, it's still not too bad since our original expectations were 7 months.  Keep positive, it's tough sometimes, but you have to consider how fortunate we may be compared to those who filed just a few months prior.

I am trying to stay positive... I go back to see my fiancé this Friday so after seeing so many with the same date as mine or even after mine getting approved I was really hoping to get it approved before I go see her... so we can do the things needed next for the embassy visit together.

Yes that lazy worker that is adjudicating your case so I'm safe. Amazing! I over heard their boss say, we are only responsible to give a yes or no answer and not doing so when they are tired of waiting. Carry on.

It wasn't too long ago and applicants like yourself were waiting 9 to 12 months for their approvals. Certainty you can wait little longer. :)

    I was joking geesh
