Anyone have experience with their children traveling alone with a green card? I have a 13 year old traveling overseas for the summer to visit relatives; however, he will be traveling alone. He received his green card about 7 months ago and this will be the first time he will leave the US. He'll be overseas for about 2 months and then come back to start school. I'm just concerned customs will give him trouble, but I might be thinking too much.
thanks.

Anyone that has filled out the DS-5540 form - what kind, if any, of supporting documents did you have?
I asked my wife to review the document, but she is not filling it out before her interview. I have her on my work's heath insurance plan so she is bringing in the health insurance cards and the 1095-C as evidence.

Our I-130 was approved at Texas on Feb 25th. After much perusing the forums I’ve noted a lot of people have received their case file numbers.
Two quick queries
1. Do both petitioner and applicant receive the same email?
2. Considering NVC are processing cases way after the approval date, when is it considered appropriate to email or call them for guidance?
I’m hoping we’ve not fallen down a crack somewhere 😢
If you don't receive any emails, you can call NVC and they will provide it to you over the phone.

We submitted all documents for me January 21 and my kids at January 24. March 25 we got a message from NVC, they wanted my husband’s divorce decree in my case. He submitted it. Also he immediately submitted this document in cases of my kids too, it was 25th of March. 2 days later we got DQ for my kids and all documents were approved, including last one at 25th of March.
That's great news. Just curious, why didn't you guys submit the divorce document initially?

I guess it depends of the petitioner's Health Insurance plan. In our case, we are working on it with my husband so that I am added to his Health Insurance (weardly they have only one month in the year (which is November) when you can add someone new to the plan 🤔).
Yes that's normal, the open enrollment for most companies' heath insurance is around that time, which is the only time he/she can change their plan. But some offer exceptions due to life changing moments like marriage, birth of a baby, etc.. those events the company lets you make changes within 30 days of the event.

Can your petitioner add you to his/her work health insurance plan? I talked to our HR and they were able to add my wife even if she didn't have SSN, I just have to update it once she gets one.

They're back up it seems. Did not get to talk to anyone as I hung up after 30 minutes.
I'm still on hold, 20 mins in so I still have a long wait I bet.

i would assume 60 days.
What documents did you have that were rejected?

This was the response I got on January 7, which was the same response I had on November 3:
In Process
Your benefit request has been accepted and is under review
Did you receive a similar update?
No, my status is just case received on this date... weird.

Everyone's updates are incredible! I'm so happy to hear it!
My PD is July 15 and I'm still stuck waiting for my NOA1.
They last updated on Jan 7 but nothing has happened since... Hopefully all these July approvals are a good sign for me as well! 🍀🍀🍀
mind if I ask what update you received in Jan?

June 28th and still waiting, Texas Service Center.
I've been checking both the uscis case tracker and my.uscis.gov and status still says, "Case was received on xx/xx/xx."
Getting a bit antsy!

I got an notification from the app on Friday saying systems will be down this weekend.
Also the case tracker app was all over the place this weekend, kept getting new updates notification but no real updates.

Reading another thread about the police certificate requirements got me thinking:
"If 16 years or older and living in another country for 12 months then that person needs a police cert from that country."
What if that foreign person was over 16 years old and was studying in the US for 8 months on a student visa. No need for police cert.
But that same person came to visit the USA multiple times on a ESTA years later, each time for about 2 months, so total including student visa and ESTA would be about 14 months.Do those ESTA time count?

It's a Code you use to set up your USCIS account and Track your case Directly.
It comes in a Separate letter a few days after the NOA1 notice
Thanks, is the code the 10 digit number along with the service center abbreviations in the front?

do you guys get the noa2 approval notices via text, email, snail mail or the app case tracker first?

Yep 2018 taxes are filed and current income is more than enough. Thank you.

I've been reading up on the income requirement to file an i130 and we need to prepare 3 years of tax return.
I've lived overseas the last few years, working for a foreign company and i have been filing US taxes. I moved back last summer and got a job here making over the required limit and I just submitted the i130.
The lawyers I met with all said I am fine with the income requirement but what are your guy's experience or what have you read? Should I have gotten a sponsor?
If so, do all US citizens who worked overseas for a foreign company need a sponsor if they file for an i130 only after moving and working in USA for less than 3 years?
Also, there were a few comments about assets... Do the assets such as high bank accounts and properties help in this case?

Good to know I have to create an account with USCIS!

I feel the same way. The last 2 years blew by so fast. At least this time the wait is bearable since our family is here right?
