We haven't been DQ yet..somethings are out of our control at the moment such as the joint sponsor furnishing the required documents..otherwise we have all our documents. My husband (in Germany) apartment lease ends in March 2021, he has to sign up for another lease (add 6 months ), he will be unable to break the new lease..has to pay the rent for those 6 months if he lives there or not..that's why I ask. We are just trying to decide for housing options if this process takes another 6-8 months from DQ.

I am not sure what DQ is... also, our case was K1 visa not IR 1 visa. So I am not sure how long it’s going to take. But I believe you will get an interview way faster than K1 visas are at the moment.

  2. Hello everyone...

So my fiancée had a interview November 5, 2020

and after his interview they took his passport and told us send them 3 pieces of documents and once they get that they will continue processing the visa.
I believe they have received all 3 documents and

we have been checking our status on ceac.
they have been updating it 2/3 days in a row.
and today when we checked, it went from Immigrant to non immigrant, and it also went from refused to administrative processing.
What does this mean? Does anything have a similar experience?

If the 1.5 year old is his biological child then NIE technically not needed since he is already exempt to the proclamation as parent of US citizen child.

Yes he is his biological son. Well then I am not sure what’s going on... but the embassy said we were approved for NIE. We were in administrative processing for 18 months. Can you get approved for NIE if you are under administrative processing?

    Hi guys,

Quick question. My fiancé interviewed at the US embassy in Islamabad pre corona in February of 2020. They kept his passport and gave him a slip with 221g asking us to complete a questionnaire. He completed that and no word since. We’ve been hearing of people being granted visas so we know the embassy is up and running.
When we check our case status online on the CEAC website. Our status says “no status”

Is that normal? Has anyone else also seen that?
We also emailed with an inquiry months ago but no word from that either.

If anyone can shed some key on this long process. We are lost and hanging on to hope.

    Thanks!

My fiancée had his interview in March 2019 and was put under administrative processing for 18 months. He just had his second interview last week, and again we are still waiting to hear back from the embassy, and he is yet to get his visa. He lives in Germany and his interview was in Germany. But because he is an Afghan National and has visited Pakistan a couple of times within the last 10 years, he was put under administrative processing and we waited so long. Not to make you feel bad but it will probably be a while before you hear anything from the embassy. It really sucks we have to go through this but it’s the sad reality. Anyway I wish you the best and I hope you hear something real soon.

I hope your medical exam and pcc get to the embassy fast and sending good vibes plenty of prayers for your family to be United soon. 😊😊  for a fast approval. I understand and I know how hard this can be..hope all goes well.

Hope you have a safe birth and congratulations on second baby.

Aww thanks, appreciate it. Means a lot. I hope you are able to get an interview soon, and re-United with your loved one as well.

How did it go for you? All the best.

Well, my fiancée went to his interview. But was missing the medical exam and police certificate. I am pretty sure it has reached the embassy by now but how are we suppose to

know for sure that it has or hasn’t... so now we are just waiting again!! It’s really draining. I am due to give birth  in about a week. And am so stressed as to how I will take care of 2 kids under 2 by myself.

15 months after original interview they called my husband for a second interview in July and we submitted everything in August. The embassy called him this past Thursday to verify his phone number and also asked if there were any other original documents at the embassy they then told him they are handing over his documents to the consular officer. Our case status showed “refused” and then Thursday when he got the call it changed to administrative processing

Oh I see! Insha Allah you will hear something good soon. I know how hard it can be and I will keep you in my prayers.

Yeah honestly #### people are so ignorant! And nobody understands because they aren’t in the same situation. Being a married couple and not being able to be together and start our lives especially being married for almost 3 years really sucks! It doesn’t get easier especially when people say stupid . And we’ve submitted everything in August and it’s like we’re so close but still don’t have a guarantee like it’s so hard 😭🤯

Yeah that’s the attitude! Don’t mind anyone that puts you down.
How long did you wait in AP after the first interview? Have you tried emailing the embassy to get a case status update? What are they saying?

  9. 9 hours ago, F&S2018 said:

I don’t recall saying that? Just curious if anyone else has had anything similar.

It’s alright, don’t mind the negative comments/people on here. There are a few that are like this on here and make you feel worse than you already do and then there are a few that make me feel happy. Just stay positive and you’ll hear some good news soon. I am currently in the same situation and no one will understand unless they have been through a really long AP. It is extremely difficult. I am getting very anxious because my fiancée had his second interview this past Thursday and now the consulate is waiting for the medical and police certificate to get to them.

May I ask why he needed to do the interview twice?

I did my K1 interview in March (in Sweden) and they still have my passport and I'm just waiting for things to change so that I can get the visa issued. I know that I will most likely need to redo the medical, but I'd rather not redo the interview (and potentially have to fight for an appointment with a lot of other people considering how the backlog they must have!)...

I hope you get your visa soon, there is so much heartache in this process, and the long waits are just so painful. We have children involved and it has been extremely difficult. So I can understand what you are going through. I hope you get your visa soon and don’t have to wait too long

Well because he had an interview in March 2019 and then went into administrative processing afterwards for 19 months because of his nationality, travel history, etc.

I believe they do second interviews after long APs just to get updated information.
they still aren’t processing any K1 visas in Germany at the moment but because ours was qualified for NIE, they asked him to come into a second interview, and to re-new his medical.

    Hi!

My fiancé explained our case and the reason why we wanted to apply for a NIE. They replied after 2 days asking for some documentation. We provided them with that and they replied the day after we sent it that our request was approved. They scheduled the appointment right after as I had already paid the visa fee back in march.

I went to the interview and what they told me was that I had to leave within the next 30 days as we have been granted a NIE visa.

When I received my visa it was written in the notes NIE TO PRESIDENTIAL PROCLAMATION.

Eventually, I was able to request an official statement from the US consulate just to make sure that the airline company's employees would have understood my situation.

I was able to travel to the US quite smoothly.

    Now I am here:)

Did you have to re-do your medical examination?

I hope you hear some good news and you get your visa soon. We have also been in administrative processing for the last 19 months. We also received an email from the embassy for a second interview. I hope we can all hear some good news after all this waiting and heartache
