  1. Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone has experienced having to get a replacement NOA1/Extension Letter? I've found lots of threads about missing NOA1 for K1 but my search wasn't showing anything for ROC.

We sent our paperwork 12/17 and received our confirmation text the following week with our receipt date of 12/19.  Now, over 6 weeks later, still no NOA1 in the mail.  We've never not received USCIS mail before.  Also, we got the notification yesterday that my husband's biometrics are being reused so I know our case is processing....it seems like maybe the NOA1 got lost in the mail.

I submitted the online inquiry after 1 month on 1/20 and the email response said to expect a response by 2/21. I'm just wondering what sort of response I might get?

Will they send us a replacement, or are we going to have to go through some kind of process or pay some sort of outrageous fee? We are obviously anxious about all of this and the potential that we don't have the document in hand when my husband's green card expires next month.

    Thank you in advance!

  2. We still haven't received our NOA1 ☹️

I submitted an inquiry and am supposed to hear back in late February.

We also got the notification that our biometrics were reused, but my husband and I are stressed about not having the paper proof of extension of green card.  I'm really worried we are going to have a hard time getting this.  I remember for K1 a replacement NOA1 was really expensive....

Also, does anyone else feel discouraged that they have changed the extension time for green cards for ROC to 48 months?! I don't love the expectation that this process could take 4 years!!

If you don't mind me asking, what were the reasons for your rejections?

Our first AOS application in December was rejected due to CC application being incorrect somehow, and now our second application (resent Jan 3rd, delivered Jan 6th) is nearly a week without SMS notification.  We sent a cheque this time following the instructions on the USCIS website so we're really, really hoping the AOS is not rejected and returned due to payment again. We are outside the 90 day window with the second AOS application though, so maybe that could be reason for delay... All speculation from our end, hoping to hear more about your experience!

    Hi again!

So when I say AOS I'm referring to when we adjusted status from K1 2 years ago (i-485 and accompanying forms).  This time around we got accepted the first time.  Both times we were rejected with a form letter saying one of our forms wasn't filled out completely.  I am not sure if it was the 485 or that ridiculous 944 - but we didn't have N/A written in every single blank and that is what I suspect the issue was.

This time around we got our confirmation text and check withdrawn less than a week after filing - still no hard copy NOA1 in the mail though and it's been nearly a month so that's really frustrating!

Thank you so much! This is really helpful.  Will wait a few more weeks and then submit it.  I just want to have it in hand before the green card expires for obvious reasons!

  5. Ok, I was annoyed and impatient before but now I'm starting to get anxious as I see all these people posting about getting their NOA1.

We sent our package on 12/17, they got it 12/19 and we got the text and card charged 12/22-23.

Still no NOA1.  Has anyone not gotten the hard copy NOA1 in a previous step of this process? How long should I wait until I reach out to them to ask about this?

    I-751 December filer Houston

    My time line so far

    I sent ROC on 12-19-2022
USCIS received it on 12-20-2022 (UPS)
    Received the text message 12-23-2022
I got the Notice of Action letter(in Mail) on 12-27-2022, check cashed on this same date.

Congratulations! We have a similar timeline so far!

We haven't gotten our NOA letter yet and I'm very impatient to have that in hand but Chicago mail is notoriously slow so I'm not worried, just annoyed! haha

An update, we have received our whole package back 4 weeks later with NOA, credit card denied and told to resubmit and to include the NOA form to our next application. There is a contact email included in case we have questions. We will definitely sign up for the text update this time!

For anyone curious, every page of our application has been stamped with a serial number of sorts, with a blank page between each different segment of evidence. (We used paperclips.) Our original envelope was also stapled to the back of the entire application.

Cover page is missing, will need to reprint and note why our submission is now late.

We aren't sure whether to send clean copies of everything or if our original but stamped pages can simply be resubmitted as is.

I think clean copies but my husband does not want to waste so much paper.  We'll browse older posts and see how others did. :)

I'm so sorry this happened! If it makes you feel any better we had our AOS rejected twice and it was so frustrating! We got ours back with the stamps and sent everything back with the stamps on it except we printed a new copy of our cover letter and the application and signed/dated with updated dates. It wasn't an issue for us sending the stamped stuff back!

    Hey all,

So after being away from this site for almost 2 years I am back on :(

We filed and got notification today of acceptance. Potomac office :(:(:(:(:(

great to see so many people from the other forum back on here!

Hey!! Fancy running into you here! Sorry about Potomac but things could change and speed up, who knows! Congrats on getting it filed!

I haven't been as astute on the I-751 process as I have been on the other immigration processes.   I have a question:

For a variety of reasons, we waited until my wife's GC was almost expired to file.  When we receive the I-797, will that automatically extend her GC for 18 months, or is there additional action to take?  Also, will this impact domestic or international travel?

    Thanks in advance!

The letter will state that her greencard is extended for two years.  She can use that letter along with her passport/greencard to travel domestic and internationally - of course it's always the officer's discretion to re-enter but unless there's some other concern the letter should not be a problem.

Anyone aware on Nebraska Service Center processing speed compared to average ?

Pretty sure it's right in the middle of the pack.  Vermont seems to be going super fast and Potomac super slow.

December filer from Virginia, sent package via USPS priority mail flat rate envelope (about 80 pages I think) to Phoenix lockbox on Dec-19.

    Package received morning of Dec-21.

Didn't include G-1145 :-(, but am paying by CC, so a charge notification by my bank will make me happy.

Hope to get the bank notification today or early next week.

Ours was received Monday and check came out today (Friday) so you might have to wait until mid next week - but we were also Elgin lockbox so maybe Phoenix is faster!

Thanks for your reply, unfortunately, that's what has us so worried! We did file around Thanksgiving so we are up against two holidays, but from what we read, most people are getting CC charged in around a week.

We'll keep checking the CC and our mailbox for now.  If we don't receive notice after a month, where/who can we check with?

I know you can call - but I am not completely sure the best process for that and I don't want to give you wrong advice.  I would post a thread about it in the main removing conditions discussion and let someone more of an expert than me guide you on how to inquire.

    Hi everyone,

Late November filer, we haven't had any updates confirming receipt of our package and CC has not been charged.  Does anyone know if there are ways we can find out of our package was properly received?

Mailed package 11/28, Tracking shows delivered to Phoenix AZ 12/1.

We didn't apply for text notification since we didn't realise that was offered.

    Getting a bit worried here!

Hi again - so sorry I missed that you wrote you paid with a CC when you first posted.  That's really frustrating - and I do think you should have gotten your card charged by now, but I would still probably give the same advice to wait it out a bit longer.

Hi! Just checking -  I sent my package to Chicago as well via USPS, it was delivered on 5th Dec and I'm yet to get a text message or email (I completed the form for it). How long did it take to get your receipt text? Thanks

We haven't gotten a text yet! I'm just going by the UPS tracking number.  I'll definitely update here when. I get a text.  But I feel like if yours arrived at the lockbox 12/5 you should have gotten a text by now.  That's really frustrating.  I've heard stories of people not getting a text even if they signed up.  What form of payment did you use?
