In that case, I would expect that you’ll shortly get the notice of fingerprints being reused. I’ve observed lately that there is not a consistent pattern for how long that takes- some people get it within a month, others wait 6 months. Either way, you’ll still be on track for ROC.
Thank you! I am not worried of the process, but just think that it's weird she received the waiver and I didn't... but like my husband used to say, I'm overthinking lol!

Correct, affidavits are the weakest evidence and are not mandatory. I never sent any for the CR-1 and didn't send any for this ROC either.
They are just part of the long list of documents you can provide, as example: The most important is to provide what you can, while obviously it's always better to give them as much as you can.

We received earlier today the waiver for biometrics, but only for my daughter (she's 19)... Seems really weird but I want to stay 100% positive thinking that I should receive mine in a few. Does anyone know if this is something usual?

Forgot to say that she's 19.

We received our appointment for biometrics today, scheduled for 10/31/22. Moving along pretty fast I guess.
Nice to hear that! Fingers crossed for all of us!

Not to mention a couple of the days since the packet was received were the weekend! Definitely still plenty of time to receive the notification before worrying.
Totally agree! And getting ready for a long long waiting period...

Hey everyone,
Glad to be a part of the October filers and hoping for a smooth approval process. My I-751 package was sent 10/18/2022 via FedEx Standard Overnight from Florida to Elgin, IL (Lockbox). FedEx tracking shows it arriving in Chicago this morning so should be delivered by end of day. How long did it take everyone to receive their extension letters post submission?
Hi!
We sent ours by USPS on Oct 8, was delivered on Oct 10. Received the text on Oct 13 and NOA yesterday, Oct 18.

Hello,
Is it okay if I put down my mother in law's address for Mailing Address and my current address for Physical Address? We're renting atm and will probably have to move in a couple of months. Sorry if this question has been asked before!
I would say you're ok, but keep in mind that as soon as you get your new address, don't forget to keep USCIS up to date.

Got our NOA today - 24 month extension.

Just receive notification from USCIS, our case was received and assigned to YSC... not the fastest unfortunately 😭

GC allows them to do anything apart from voting. They can work, travel in and out of the country without any hindrance.
Fire the lawyer.
Thank you for confirming! I told them that the only difference is they can't vote and get some jobs exclusively for US citizen. But they were told by their lawyer that because they applied through a certain visa they will not allow to travel until they get their travel permit... when I got mine GC, I was told by the immigration that the GC cancelled my combo EAD/Travel permit, so I guess it applies for any GC holder.
2 hours ago, powerpuff said:Exactly. EAD/AP are issued so that a person can work and travel while waiting for their GC. Once it’s issued, there is no use for EAD/GC.
Thank you guys! I knew that I wasn't crazy when I told them that their GC voids their EAD/AP. I don't know why their lawyer told that... doesn't make any sense to me!
My best advice for them is to call the USCIS and get the right info.

Hi there!
I have a quick question as I am confused about the advance parole.
One of my friends who were under E1/E2 visa, just get their 10 years GC. So now his wife and kids are allowed to work. Their lawyer told them when they applied for the GC, as well as EAD and Travel Permit, that their GC won't give them the right to travel. I thought that the GC allows everyone to work and travel and there was no restriction.
Could someone clarify this for us?
Thank you!

Green card arrived today... not even one week after our interview!
The long wait journey is now over... for at least 2 years

Hey
Have you moved recently? There are some others cases which were canceled because of change of address.

It means that they received your I-751, and they will have to review it and work on it. Will take a while before adjudication.
