Hey everyone... I'm so frustrated... and a little bit worried. We got a rfe on April 25 and sent it back on April 30. USCIS received it on May 6 and since then nothing... except 3 emails "We are still reviewing your case and there are no update at this time. We will notify you when your case status changes. We last took action on your case on May 15, 2019"...
Should I be confident?... or does it mean something wrong with our case?

Are you sure that you forgot to answer? We can't check it because we don't have a copy of what we sent
Sure! We checked it yesterday evening and figured out we stupidly forgot to check this box!

Right ! Stupid are we.

Received yesterday a RFE and sent them back : we missed checking a box and they asked for my fiancé US citizenship (funny part: we already sent it...). From now, another long period of waiting in front of us.

Written permission from the mother. Unless there is a court order that says otherwise.
I agree : you'll need a letter of consent, and this one should be notarized, with a notarized copy of mother's passport. I did it last Tuesday with the father of my daughter. Please feel free to contact me if you need some example.

Yes. Sometimes you'll never get an update. That depends on the officer working on your case and if they hit the update button or not
Thank you!

I have one question, maybe sounds stupid but still... is that possible your case would be adjudicated and on the USCIS website still indicates "case was received" ?

So I called my lawyer and apparently as in France sole legal custody could mean "autorité parentale exclusive", and in my case my ex and I have "autorité parentale conjointe", so I need to prodive a letter of consent. So I wrote one and my ex will sign it next week at notary's office, because the document should be notarized. Feel free to contact me if you need more informations
Have a nice day

Thank you for your answer... As I'm in France it's all about French laws which means I've got my kids' custody but it allows her father to visit and host her too... So that's why we are confused. But maybe some French people here would be able to help us.

Hi,
We are preparing all documents required for our interview at US Embassy in Paris, and we are confused about this.
As i'm divorced with a child under 18, I need to proivde a letter of parental consent from her father. Or it's also mentionned "If the Principal applicant has sole legal custody of the sponsored child, an original or certified copy of a custody agreement or divorce judgment indicating sole custody must be presented".
Is there someone who knows what "sole legal custody" means ?
Does it mean that my child lives with me and her father can visit and host her sometimes, does it mean "autorirté parentale exclusive"?
Thank you for your help !
