YES!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!! We received an email on Wednesday telling us that our interview was on Friday (Aug 9) at 7am. AFTER ALMOST FOUR MONTHS OF WAITING ON THIS INTERVIEW, we finallyyyy got it!!! 💃🙌🙏💃. PRAYER WORKS!!!

I will share that I used to call the embassy once a week to check in on the status of our case. For the past month or so, I started calling more often 2-3x a week and through doing that, we learned that we needed to submit another DS-160 form (although we did already in April when we submitted all of the required documents incl. our medical). That was very frustrating to be frank!

When we submitted the new DS-160, we noticed that some of the order of the questions had changed and there was a new ‘social media’ question on the form asking for my fiancé’s social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, IG etc). Aside from that, the DS form was pretty much the same.

Also, through calling the embassy more often every week, we learned that new embassy officers have arrived in Haiti as of last month (in July) to help with the backlog. Anyway, almost 14 months after beginning this horrendousssss process, my fiancé and I will finally be reunited (in a few weeks). THANK YOU JESUS!!!

Hang in there. Hope you’re reunited with your loved one soon as well.

This was in Trinidad & Tobago. My NOA was received on June, 2, 2015.
I am now in the RoC phase but just wanted to share the vast difference in the length of time it NOW takes to get NOA1..... 😕

Hi everyone!!!! My husbands I-130 has been approved!!!! It only took 342 from the Nebraska Service Center! I’m very thankfully and it took a lot of patience. I’m hoping the NVC part speeds up lol. Just wanted to share my wait. If you want you are free to reply with your wait time and where you are with the process!
  6. Thanks

I would wait with scheduling the medical until you actually have a better idea on the interview date. If she already schedules and has the medical now, she runs the risk of the medical being expired at the time of the interview (the medical is valid for 6 months and if the medical is expired, it needs to be done again). This might cause even additional delays..

I'm sorry to tell you Newbie but you may be in for a long wait (we are all on the same boat so hang in there). My fiancé and I have been looking for interview dates since March (more than three months of waiting and there have been n-o-n-e... zero dates!). I will tell you this... don't be shy about calling to embassy to inquire about your case (703.544.7842). If we were not diligent about calling the embassy just to check in, there is information that we would NOT be aware of. What is more frustrating is that this information is not public.

For example, our case was forwarded from the NVC in January 2019, we heard from the Haitian embassy about next steps in March 2019 (via email). In May, we also received embassy notification via postal mail. Letter was dated January as if it took four months for a letter to travel for Haiti to New York. Anywayyyyyyyy... because we kept calling the embassy to check in our case, that is the ONLY reason we found out that the embassy is NOT posting interview dates at this time (we got this information in late March).

What the embassy is informing people who call about their case, is to get ALL of your required documents (incl medical, affidavit of support, proof of relationship, passport photos etc.) and drop everything off at DHL in Haiti. Only then will the embassy contact you (at their leisure) with an interview date. If you are waiting for embassy to actually post interview dates who know when they will start doing that again. FYI - we dropped everything the embassy is requiring at DHL on April 23, we confirmed that the embassy received everything on April 24. And we are STILL waiting on an interview date (it is now June 27). Today marks exactly one year since my fiancé and I began this k1 visa journey (a process we read would take 6 to 9 months from start to finish... that's joke).

All I have to say is that thankkkkkkk Goddddddd my fiancé and I are praying folks because God is the only one who has been sustaining us through this HORRENDOUS process. My advise is to pray that God sustains you and your fiancé through this process Newbie. Also pray to God that your paperwork don't get loss or sent to the wrong embassy (that's happened). If you and your fiancé are not praying folks, start praying.

Good luck and keep us posted! (also, sorry for the long dissertation but just wanted to share our experience so far in case it's helpful to anyone reading this post).

In general, things are processed first come, first serve. But it's more like a massive supermarket with 100+ checkout lanes. Some are faster than others. Some need a price check. Sometimes somebody is paying entirely with small coins. There's always somebody going faster than you, and always somebody going slower than you.
There's also things like expedites, extended background checks, verification of documents, RFEs, etc., that impact timelines.

Best thing you can do is not focus on others...you'll drive yourself mad.

It's generally faster for a USC petitioning an immediate relative than an LPR doing so, yes (even more so when PDs are not current...then it adds year(s) to the process for an LPR).

There are too many variables. Officers work in different paces, they take time off, there are holidays, expedites, new priorities.... all you can do is wait, read and be knowledgeable of the process, plan for the future.

I’ve always been under the impression that I-130 cases are processed and approved in a first come-first serve order, but looking at the historical chart on this site I see inconsistencies. I filtered it to show only cases in Nebraska since that’s where my case is (why god WHY NEBRASKA), and I see inconsistencies.
Example: some people who filed in July of last year barely got their NOA2 this month, yet others who filed in January of this year got their NOA2 this month also......???
That throws me off to understand where exactly they stand as far as what month they’re working on.
Does being an US citizen petitioner make your case go faster.
‘We’ve been married for over 2yrs but just now filed in April so I understand we have a long ways to go.

I just did that at the I-130 stage, I´ll give you how excatly do that.

    First, download this app:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.icecoldapps.screenshoteasy&hl=es_419

    That´s for Android, if IOS:
Just press the On/Off Button and then press the typical home button at the center of the phone.

Well Whatsapp stage, please, go to the main page of whatsapp, and then go to calls, once there you will see the list of calls, sort by date and time, well, touch on one of the many calls and contacts and then it will show you  the date, the time, if the call was incoming or outgoing , and mainly the lenght of the call!
That list also includes videocalls, very important if you can include videocalls log too.

My wife and I talk really long time several times at day, and believe me , we included call logs than 2 hours!
Try to include, a log with many calls at day...

I hope that my answer resolve your problem....

No you are not required to be at (and will not be allowed to join) the interview... you can accompany him or her as emotional support---but that's as far as it goes.

It is always best to be on the premises with your spouse in support of him during his/her interview.
They may not let you in but he/she can give your passport to the CO saying that you are waiting outside and would be glad
to be allowed in. It is not a requirement but would help your spouse to be calmer and show the CO that you are there in support.
