Can someone help me with the list of documents to submit for N400. I was hoping to get my 10year green card but it’s obviously taking forever. I rather try my luck on N400. I will need all the information.

It will say what you have to submit (assuming you are doing it online, it's easier).  Some examples include your last 3 years of tax, green card, birth certificate of your US spouse, birth cert of your children etc. You can submit extra documents as well. Pretty much everything you already submitted for adjustment of status + all the new stuff.

I submited 60 documents in total and the Immigration Officer at the citizenship interview thanked me for making this easy for her because she was able to  approve me in a month and a half!

Good luck, N400 is easy but still a lot of paperwork!

  2. Just had my interview yesterday in Oklahoma City, OK.
I submitted my application on June 30th, got interview scheduled for August 15th.

The IO was really friendly and nice. We did civics first, writing and reading next. After that we went through the application and basic information like my name, date of birth etc. I signed a few documents and she told me I passed and I should wait 2-4 weeks for ceremony to be scheduled!

What a great experience and journey this has been! Ready to have the ceremony and be done with uscis once for all.

My advice would be to have your spouse ask you the civics questions every day!
    Good luck!

The fastest I have seen here at VJ is 3 months, I think it's a January 2022 filer approved in April. Again, I am happy for this person, but not fair for those of us that submitted a very solid case, much earlier, and were assigned the same processing center. At this point it makes me wonder whether I can send a request for outside of processing times. Yes, I know I am well within processing times, but feel like trying if this makes a difference.

HI Everyone. I am sending my I-751 today, I put everything together and its 250 pages because our joint bank statements are for 2 years  (only these are 150 pages). I am little confused and I do not know if I should remove some pages of the statements because I was thinking if the application is bulky will take more time. But also a friend of mine got RFE last year and they asked him to send more evidence and they wrote: "all supporting documents should cover as much of the marital period as possible" but he only sent them cover page from his bank showing both names and he didn't have transactional information. My question is: Should I send statements few for each year or the whole package since I already printed and put it together?

    Send the whole package!

Hello, I am sending our package next week and going to read people's experience and compare. I see you include form I-551 in your package. I was wondering If you could give me any information if its necessary or its just in you case. I just never knew this is something we need to send with our I-751

    Thank you

It’s just the copy of your green card.

I have a question and I'm just throwing it out there.  Did it ever occur to people that Doublepike is full of it?  Spewing out something that didn't really happen?  This is all on the honor system, no proof required.  I would say the majority on VisaJourney are legit and honest about their statuses but this person could be someone with just enough knowledge of the immigration process and the VisaJourney website to be dangerous.  He/She could be among that small percentage who got rejected at some point by the USCIS and is here to exact revenge out of spite.

And before you question what I'm saying, asking why would anybody do this, ask if humans are always rational.  Sometimes people do things just to get under someone's skin.  If this person does in fact exist, is legit and did get an I-751 approval in record time then congrats.  However, I just thought I'd ask the question.

Well that was rather a weird assumption and accusation. Been here since 2019 just like everyone else. 😬56695EBC-9F4D-4819-8734-D2A56783D037.thumb.jpeg.066df2bae9baabe29e3ce5cef4364048.jpeg

Congrats! Can you just please briefly state what evidence you sent? Thanks!

Birth certificate of our child born last year, deeds of trust for both of our houses in our names, car titles in both of our names, health insurance, life insurance policies (stating each other as beneficiary), car insurance, bank statements since the time we got married, airplane tickets with same flight and seats next to each other, water and electric bills + internet, Joint tax return from last two (three) years, signed affidavits of support  - one is our friend from Air Force (my husband is DOD now but still works on base) and another affidavit is his cousin who was the witness at our wedding. Pictures since the time we got married. Our rental lease agreement when we moved to TX for a year in 2019. Pest control bill on both our names. Military card for national parks having both our names/signatures. Just pretty much anything you can find that.

In some states, it will have validity as same as her green card. It is depended on the State’s law.

In TX, your card will have validity of 5 years even if the card is 2 years.

2 year green card holder here.
Had a license in TX, validity was 8 years.

Moved to Mississippi, lady gave me 1 year from the day I made the license, 4 months short of my GC expiration explaining I have to contact USCIS because she has to go to lunch now.
    Good ol’ US and A.

Great! I know it shouldn’t be an issue I just wondered if anyone experienced any issues or extra checks. I wouldn’t imagine TSA is checking immigration status but who knows.

In FL you have to prove residency and/or have a SSN to get a state ID/DL. Once her EAD is approved well apply for that.

Okay I see. Too late to say but, maybe someone else will read it and take an advice. Get an SSN two weeks after you enter US. You can change the last name after marriage and AOS. Second thing, my husband put me on the water and electricity bills right after marriage, and that’s how I got a DL. It’s really not that hard if you do things right away because after 90 days you’re stuck in that “grey area” and can’t get much done at all. Best luck to y’all!

Has anyone had any issues traveling DOMESTIC within the US after entry with a k1?

we got married and adjusted status, case is in processing but wondering if we’ll have issues traveling through airport security if they notice that the k1 is technically expired. The proof of legal status we have is the acknowledgement from USCIS for pending AOS.

Just wondering if anyone has had any issues/confusion with authorities because of this.

on another note, my wife is Venezuelan and her ID is literally a PDF print out that the Venezuelan government emailed her. Apparently they don’t have materials to print the ID cards and they tell citizens to print / laminate. It’s very low quality and almost looks fake. I probably wouldn’t believe it’s real if I didn’t know that’s how she received it... would this be a valid travel document though the airport even though it has no security features they are now requiring from many states?

we have her passport but given the difficulty of obtaining a new Venezuelan passport would rather not travel with it unless absolutely necessary. It’s also expiring 2022 so hopefully we have her green card by then. If not, can we use an expired passport to travel?

Since I came to the US last May on K-1 , my husband and I have been flying domestic every 2 weeks and I’ve never had a problem whatsoever. I flew before I got married, after I got married, before AOS, pending AOS and now after approved 2 year green card. The only difference is that I had to use the passport for the first few months. Then I transitioned to driver license and green card once it has been approved. No one asks you about your status if it’s a domestic flight. You don’t have to carry no documents with you. 👍🏻  She’s fine using her passport as long as it’s not expired . Also, why not getting her an ID/DL here?

Yes, I'm aware of this. That's why finding an employer is my first priority. But I'm unsure if it makes sense to seek an employer/visa sponsor right now, or if I should wait with the job seeking until the current situation clears up.

I’d say just do it now. There’ll never be a “perfect” time to apply for anything. You got nothing to lose. It’s that simple. Don’t overthink it. :D

Believe it when the check shows up. Voted on and approved is a long way from checks printed. If anything shows up, it won't be till early June at the earliest. Everyone on this forum should be really familiar with how fast the government processes things. Not to be a negative Nancy, but Don't start buying houses and cars just yet....

I am blown away by the speed of the IRS here in the US. Coming from Croatia, you file your taxes in February and you get money back in September lol. You guys are fast as hell, but people are not really patient. Instant gratification.
