Know someone that abandoned their green card at the US Embassy and then received a 10 year B1/B2 Visa.

This person then was petitioned by US Citizen parent, had to wait for the priority date to be current, and is now living and working in the USA and is now a US citizen.

I think your friend abandoned the Green Card, and, if possible, will now have to go through the process again.

Her daughter in law was asking me for help since I petitioned for my husband 2 years ago but I had no idea how everything worked thanks so much that makes more sense now

She will need to start over with being petitioned for a new green card.  Having a tourist visa won't affect that process, but having immigrant intent could be problematic if she tries to visit.

Not sure if my response went through but I meant to ask start over as in have someone petition for her again? She’s actually here now and we didn’t know if she could do anything in person. She leaves soon she’s been back and forth since 2018 she has a business in her country but is trying to get set up for the future incase the situation over there (political unrest) worsens.

Also, unless the mom is still under 21, 2 years is way too fast for this to happen. And if the kids are minors and in her custody your husband would need to be able to talk to her and get her permission for the kids to get visas anyway even if he petitions them. So no matter which way this is going he needs to be able to talk

Yeah you’re right its been more than 2 years I can’t remember how long exactly  and he had given a permission before maybe about a year ago so they can cont. with the process since her family already started and he wasn’t here yet I guess all we can do is wait thank you

  4. I don’t know if it’s possible but basically my husband has only been in the U.S for three months he has two children from a previous relationship. The children’s grandfather (their mothers dad) is a perm resident (in a different state) and has started paperwork about 2 years ago or more to bring the children and their mom from nicaragua. According to the daughter they got word that things should be wrapping up for them this year. We don’t have a relationship at all with the mother and her family she’s been pretty problematic for years but my husband would like to know if it’s true if his kids are almost approved because if not he’d like to start preparing paperwork himself. Is there anyway to find out without knowing the receipt number?

  5. Oops forgot to post in November group! DQ back in July Nicaragua’s embassy opened in October and I was notified days later that my husbands interview is November 30th. On the interview date email it says to keep up with the website about the presidential proclamation on health care but I’m paranoid and not sure if I should send in a letter from work that once he’s here he’ll be covered by my insurance ?

As you all know I got RFE today. I was just going to upload some documents. But confused about this thing. NVC says Translation documents should be included in one PDF file with the original document. And that each file should be under 2 MB so if I’m gonna upload all the pages in one, file, can it be of more than 2 MB? Or the whole pages (file) should be under 2 mb?

If they’re too large it’ll tell you when you try to upload. There’s a page called smallpdf.com where you can make the files smaller if you need to

@Skaur0609 its funny im on the same boat. Submitted everything on FEB 24th

Me too! I think there’s a few of us who submitted on 2/24. Well I resubmitted police record that’s all I was missing and still nothing 😑 Hopefully we’ll hear this week. I know we all have to wait anyways because of embassies  but getting DQed would give us a little piece of mind. Especially since others are getting news in just a week-2 weeks 😣🤞🏼🤞🏼

  8. Still waiting second submission 2/24 I’m assuming I’ll hear something by the end of this month if things don’t get delayed more (which they might with less staff) my main worry now is that it seems Nicaragua’s president is the ONLY one not taking measures to prepare for covid19  they’re actually belittling it and still planning their spring break events this week. I’m scared for my husband I know he’s not older but if he happens to get it there is not proper care for this in Nicaragua. And they’re even denying test results and even denying how many cases there are.  Not sure what to do don’t even think anything can be done just venting I guess

  9. Submitted docs to NVC 12/19 finally on 2/19 I got an RFE email. Saying that my husbands Nicaraguan police record is expired even though I was told on the phone to note that he will be getting a new one when he’s back in Nicaragua. (He has been living in panama for over a year due to political issues in Nicaragua...and we sent Panamanian record and old nica record with note) we happened to be in Nicaragua when we received RFE and got new récord but it’s annoying that the 3 times I called about this I received different answers on what to do. Hoping it doesn’t take another two months.

I have paid my IV fee on Dec. 13. It has been more than a week, but the CAEC still shows as in process and I am not able to access DS260. Also the consulate office was changed during this period per my request.  Is there anything I need to worry?

Sorry I dk much about ds260 issue but I was wondering how long did it take for them to change the embassy? I sent my request about a month ago( but just submitted paperwork this week )

Just to let those waiting here to know

Where the NVC is reviewing right now.

    submitted

Nov 3rd, 2019 and got RFE/ invalid document today for not having the I-864EZ dated in ink.

I think my husband printed the date and only had his signature in ink. Their exact message was ‘please sign and date this by hand in part 6 and replace this form’ but my civil documents were all accepted.
yes I know it’s in the instructions but apparently my husband missed it...

It’s a little upsetting but I kinda forgot to check his forms before he submitted so... I guess I’m partially at fault...

will get him to replace the document today after work and resubmit then another wait for review again 😂😂😂

I feel like strangling (jokingly) husband for this silly RFE -again- which should not happen had he properly read instructions before submitting the form. It’s happened before with the I-130 where we got RFE because he didn’t send in EMPTY pages - although instructions in filing clearly says send in all. 😂😂😂

    - but he is probably upset and feeling bad enough... so I’ll just chill.

but yes for the rest of you, NVC is reviewing documents submitted around nov 3rd ;)

I was originally hoping for DQ before Christmas but this probably sets us back another month at least so... back in the waiting game 😂😂

Oh no I just submitted yesterday (But i1864)  and I typed the date but printed and signed.I hadn’t seen that happen to anyone else before. The instructions don’t mention the date specifically has to be in ink too...or did I misunderstand your post?
