Hi, do you mind how much it costs to respond to the RFE? Did you have to have another full medical exam? I had my medical exam in Sydney and was up to date with all vaccines, gave the sealed envelope to POE and submitted copy of ds3025 with my AOS,  now i have a RFE for having a civil surgeon complete the i693. It doesnt say why or what is missing from medical so i really dont understand why i need to pay god knows what more . My medical exam in Sydney was already like $800 or more.

The office we went to the medical fee was $475- it was a two part exam and the fee was due at the first exam. They did blood work to check immunities as well as some other blood tests (even though we had his immunization records from England) at the first exam, and then at the second exam they did a physical and gave him his hepatitis b (wasn't immune and wasn't given in England) and dtap vaccines (presumably for the missing pertussis immunities)- those were $90 extra for the two of them. I did forget to add that prior to the exam he was required to get a COVID-19 booster and flu shot (when I called to inquire about the price I asked if he needed to have those and they said yes) which did cost us more out of pocket as well (just went to Walmart) don't remember for sure how much that was. I wasn't 100% sure if he needed the full medical we just did it to avoid any possible problems later or further delay on AOS.

  2. My husband who is adjusting from k-3 had had a medical with visa medicals in London as well that had said he was compliant as far as vaccinations went- however the tdp vaccine he received as routine vaccinations did not cover the same vaccinations as in the US (the p in the one he received was polio not pertussis) and then he was never vaccinated for hepatitis b in England either growing up so those are a couple things to check on your vaccination records to make sure you actually are in fact completely compliant. If you are just filing, you can just leave it and they will send an RFE if they decide they need it (which they did for us).

  3. 12/20/2023 - Sent to USCIS (I-485 + I-765)

    01/03/2024 - NOA1

01/29/2024 - Biometrics Appointment, Status Updated to Fingerprints Received Same Day

    02/29/2024- RFE issued for I-693

04/05/2024- Sent response to RFE (tracking shows it was delivered to FO 04/08/2024)

Now, more waiting 🙃🙃 Nothing has happened with the EAD since the status changed to fingerprints received, so hoping at this point they're just going to go for the Greencard 😬🙃

While the K3 isn't QUITE dead - why would you want it?  It has all the frustrating parts of the K1 (adjustment of status) and none of the benefits of the spouse visa.

In the past few years, K3 issuances have been as follows:

    2018 - 5 K3s issued (Mexico - 2, Bahamas, Brazil, Honduras - 1 each)

    2019 - 7 K3s issued(Mexico - 3, Afghanistan, El Salvador, Venezuela and Yemen - 1 each)

    2020 - 2 K3s issued (Honduras and Yemen)

    2021 - 2 K3s issued (Mexico and Pakistan)

    2022 - 4 K3s issued (Mexico - 2, Great Britain and Brazil - 1 each)

2023 - 6 K3s issued (Democratic Republic of the Congo - 2, China, Great Britain, Morocco and Yemen - 1 each)

The only one I know the full detail of was the one from Morocco in August 2023 - basically because they were asking questions on a FB group and I didn't believe their K3 had been approved by USCIS so I asked and they sent me pictures and I kept thinking that they wouldn't actually GET the K3, but they did. In their situation, the couple had filed a K1, then got married and (unknowing the proper steps) filled out the I-130 and a couple days after the I-130 was filed they K1 was approved so they sent a request that, since they were not married and had filed the I-130, that the K1 be changed to a K3 - and surprisingly it was - which they verified through all NOAs and visa issued to me.

I'm pretty sure they got lucky and it was a fluke. For the others that have been approved - I always wondered if they MEANT to get the K3 or if theirs were by accident also.

As the Great Britain K3 case for 2022, I can say we did mean to get it, but something unknown to us just went wonky af with our case. Filed 130 July 2019, Feb 2020 RFE for marriage certificate (which we definitely sent originally), Updated to received Feb 18 2020, March 2020 updated to Review and nothing ever since. Contacting congressman, nothing worked. And believe you me, we tried multiple times. Applied for K3 and it was approved pretty crazily fast (I don't have my timeline in front of me but it was like a month or two later we got noa2).

The week he landed (May 2022) I- 130 changed to an interview at our field office (June 2022) which was really nothing - they only asked how we met and said we were approved.

We were desperate and happy for the K3, but yes have had to go through the AOS and everything too, which has cost us a lot more money.

Our AOS was filed only Dec 2023 (our daughter fell ill shortly after he arrived (chronic illness we've had a lot to deal with) so it was put on the back burner (plus honestly I just needed a mental break from immigration). Our case is at the field office and we received an RFE for medical, which we expected - that was just mailed back today so.. fingers crossed we will finally be done soon. Definitely a much bigger hassle than if the I-130 would have gone the way it was supposed to.

  5. My husband just got his notice for his Biometrics appointment, which asks him to bring a valid photo ID . His passport expired in June but he has his provisional license from England that has an expiration date in 2029.

Idk if it makes a difference that the passport has the K3 visa in it with a long with a stamp at entry that is still valid.

Does anyone know if they'll accept the license at his Biometrics appointment? (He intends to bring the expired passport as well as the license). Tia

I’ve done the same thing counting the business days! lol Comforting to know we’re in the same boat. Hoping for some news for both of us soon!

We just got the text from USCIS with our receipt number, the check wasn't showing up as cleared on our end yet but the case status does show the fee has been received- hopefully you get yours soon! 🤞

    Hi all,

AOS packet delivered on 12/18 to Chicago, IL. We didn’t request the e-notification, but with the K1 application, the check was deposited and NOA1 was received quickly. This hasn’t been the case this time around. I’m sure it doesn’t help having 2 holidays back to back, but would you say this is a typical processing timeline? Thank you!

Glad it isn't just us lol. Ours was delivered to Chicago Lockbox 12/22- I keep reminding myself that today makes only the 8th business day because of the holiday. Trying to be patient.. but wondering if checks take longer than CC. Nothing more fun than the immigration waiting game 🫠

Guys, would you please tell me how long does it take for the US Embassy in London to issue a visa? My passport is with them since May 5 (medical delivered may 4th). Thanks

It took mine 11 working days from medical/interview to be issued.

Case status changed to "Ready" today. Anyone know what that means?

I've seen people go from refused to ready to admin processing to issued. Mine never went to refused on CEAC  it went from ready to admin to issued :) so if you were refused in CEAC I'd take it as a good thing!

just over a week now, guess im in for the long haul...

makes it difficult since my job has a 3 month notice period

That's kind of what it's looking like.. I was feeling really hopeful after seeing someone with their medical a week or so after their interview still managed to get their visa around a week later from their medical (idr the time frame for sure) in March I think it was.. but now reading people's experiences here.. just hope for the best and expect that it may be a bit. My husband's interview and his medical were both on the 21st. His vaccinations records got misplaced (he swears he is positive he handed it to them and thinks they misplaced it as chaotic as it was there but who knows) so he had to get another copy from the GP and got his TDP booster (they requested on the form he get one if it had been over 10 years)- he just got that back to them (Visa Medicals) on the 26th. Checking the status update the date changed on the 27th (probably too early to be the medical if they were waiting on his vaccination record realistically) and then it updated again today but the status itself remains unchanged. But hey we have already been waiting 148 weeks since we first applied for him to move here.. so what's a few more weeks right? 🙄🙄 Sigh.. hopefully soon.. for all of us..

Ah okay yeah lol we submitted ours to NVC and our interview is next month. I heard for people after April 18th you gotta submit updated taxes so was wondering if anyone was asked for them yet lol Congrats on your interview tho! ❤️

Thanks, I'm just trying to get out of my head and just trust that everything is ok 😂😂 K3 Visas are so rare these days, and with his IR1 not moving at all in nearly three years and having a two-year-old we're so desperate for this to go as smoothly as possible! Good luck at your upcoming interview!

Your experience sounds pretty standard I wouldn’t worry lol btw did they ask for 2021 taxes at your interview?

Thanks. They asked him for his affidavit of support (which he had paperclipped with the supporting documents) and they didn't say anything else about it after he gave it to them. My joint sponsor and I provided our 2021 and our 2020 tax transcripts that we printed off of the IRS website (I think they only require the most recent but we provided both). She wasn't sure she'd have her taxes filed in time so she was going to provide a photocopy of her W2 for this year if she couldn't provide that. She also provided an immigration letter she was able to print off her employers website which stated her annual income and how long she has worked for the company.

Oops, I realized you're a CR1 which I think would have submitted affidavit to NVC, adding that we're K3 visa so all our docs were submitted at the interview. It says by my name we filed CR1/IR1- which we did, but that hasn't even made it to NOA2 in almost three years. It's K3 he interviewed for.

  15. My husband had his interview today. He felt like it went well, the guy asked just three questions, where did he meet me, when did we first meet in person, and was our joint sponsor a relative (yes, she's my mom). His medical was this afternoon after his interview, so we were expecting the refusal- but I've seen so many people say they've been told they're approved but being put into refusal pending medical, he was just told it was being refused pending medical and once they received his medical they would return his passport. He wasn't told  he was approved, but it seemed to go well (no grilling or problems).. should we assume he'll likely be approved once his medical goes through- that the officer just chose not to say? 🤔🤔

  16. My husband got his GP Summary today, He has a Depressive Episode in 2015 listed under Active Major Problem (along with things such as a broken arm in 2020 lol so obviously things aren't all actually ongoing but they are all listed as ongoing). There are no further notes on it, but what it was was that his uncle committed suicide and his grandma died and the GP Prescribed him citalopram (which he stopped taking on his own in 2018). Is a depressive episode resulting from grief the same thing as depression/does he need to try and get some kind of report on it?  His medical is in two weeks I'm a bit concerned if he could get it on time if he does need something.

My wait time was 20 m. Yass! I am pretty sure we are in the same batch 😃  I just hope it's not lost in mail or something. As long they receive it then I can relax a bit. Praying we hear something this week at least.

I am K-3 not K-1 but it uses i129F as well. My i129 was approved in October and as of Jan 11 they still had not received it. I called yesterday (Feb 10), nonimmigrant line, and they did finally have it as well as my case and invoice, so the delay does seem a bit bad right now! I was afraid mine was lost as well.

My intial contact was through nvc inquiries online, but was told by the NVC if 60 days had past since approval I could email a photocopy of NOA2 attached to an email with only the receipt number in the subject line, to NVCResearch@state.gov that's only for ones taking longer than expected and both times I contacted them (65 days and 90 days past) they responded within 24 hours. At the 90 day point (Jan 11) they told me they would contact USCIS to locate it. I didn't follow up any sooner with NVC because I was out of the country and didn't want a high phone bill so waited until I got back lol I'm not sure when they received mine but they have it now and case number and doing that might help ease the lost in mail fear, I was totally afraid of the same thing. Best of luck! Hope they get it/you hear something soon!

  18. I did call USCIS, she said that my interview wasn't scheduled yet but the officer had put in a request for there to be an interview and once it was scheduled I'd get something in the mail. I double checked that it would be for me, the petitioner, before the i-130 was approved and she said that was correct. That the officer may have additional questions or want some clarifications on things prior to the i-130 being approved 😕

  19. OK, so.. we had an RFE back in January, the only thing they asked for was a copy of our original marriage certificate, which we provided and they received Feb 18th, and today I checked on My USCIS and it says an interview has been scheduled and we'll receive info in mail? The only thing I can find is maybe they suspect fraud? (It's not- we've been together two and a half years, have visited together 7 times in two years and have a daughter together), I guess I'll find out for sure whenever we get something in the mail. Just seems a little weird to me, it's I-130, I'm the USC and he's still overseas in UK.

Anyone with any experience with this? Our PD was 7-3-2019 and our status never changed to approved/no NOA2 or ever anything from NVC. Happy our status has finally changed (nothing had changed from March 16), but a bit uneasy if they're suspecting fraud 😕 😕
